  1. A few strategic tugs, and Fergus’s black shirt fell the way he liked. Just tight enough through the shoulders and upper torso to accent them without being obvious, while the v-neck exposed the top of the furry crease running down his chest. He stepped back from the full-length mirror for a complete view. Paired up with a comfortable pair of jeans, it was a simple look but flattering. Tonight may not be anything close to a dress occasion, but he had standards to maintain. Once again he checke

    Chapter 9

FUN FACT: Sawyer's comment of "Are there any services I can perform for you?" was actually said to me word for word by a bank manager while banking for work a few years ago. I was in the process of plotting the first version of this story and wrote it down because there was no way I wasn't using this. Not making a sleazy return comment hurt me physically. (There was a huge line, which is why he came up and asked. Just like in the chapter.)

    Chapter 9

I have to check my moon phase calendar. I'm trying to pace the story with a relevant timeline, so I'm using that to keep it making sense.

    Chapter 9

The original version of this was in Sawyer's POV, but it seemed like it would flow better from Jimmy's and give me a chance to tie in his wolf's behavior at the same time.

    Chapter 9

Good question. At some point Jimmy will have to grow a pair and actually start a real conversation rather than hitting Sawyer with cruising lines.

    Chapter 9

We shall see. So far we're not sure how Sawyer's taking the indecent proposal.

    Chapter 9

    Thank you!
  8. The fiery ache in every muscle dragged a moan out of Jimmy, making him nearly gag on the gritty taste across his tongue. He spit out a mouth full of dirt in a vain attempt to clear the taste. Finding himself lying face first on the ground surrounded by trees, he pushed his hair back, ignoring the grass tangled in the dark, unwashed tresses. Eventually, he rolled over into a seated position. A sharp rock bit into his bare ass and he had to sweep it out from under him. A quick glance told him what

    Chapter 1

No worries. Since I'm not using an editor and I'm writing each chapter fresh each week, typos are bound to creep in due to time constraints. I'm not going to spend a lot of time worrying about it. By the way "barefoot" is one word with no hyphen.

    Chapter 8

I would even go so far as she might not know how to stop if she wanted to.

    Chapter 8

    This is true.

    Chapter 8

No one instantly changes their behavior. One can only hope we learn from our mistakes and do better.

    Chapter 8

Oh yeah. He's a mama's boy for sure. I'm just glad I was able to make the conversation go where it needed to. Extended dialogue threads can be tricky.

    Chapter 8

I'd like to think this helps to define his character and how he managed to get himself into the situation he's in with Jada, even if she is a cool person.

    Chapter 8

People spend far too much time giving blood relations authority that may not deserve. Hopefully Sawyer learns how to say no.

    Chapter 8

sometimes boundaries are hard to enforce after this many years. You have to work at it. Habits die hard.
  17. “Thank you for signing the papers.” Jada’s voice came through crystal clear despite the noise of gravel crunching under the tires. Sawyer’s phone sat in a neat holder attached to the dashboard so he could keep both hands on the wheel. “Of course. I’m not going to fight you on this. It’s the right thing to do.” “Sorry. I got a little worried because they sat on the kitchen table for three days.” “It was the full moon.” Did Sawyer really need to explain in detail? Completing projects u
  18. Dusk approached, bridging the sky into the first night of the full moon. Jimmy stood on the front porch, watching as forest shadows began the gradual reach forward to eventually plunge the whole house into darkness. Wood peeked through the blistered white paint, giving away years of neglect. Fergus had told him to spruce things up as he saw fit, but Jimmy only cleaned the hidden farmhouse enough to make it livable. Sitting on the edge of the den’s boundaries, it wasn’t home. The goal wasn’t

I'm so glad this chapter resonated so well for you all.

    Chapter 6

I'm glad that came across for readers. Coming out can be painful and cathartic at the same time, if you're lucky.

    Chapter 6

Thank you for reading! I'm constantly tweaking my timeline to make all the elements happen the way they should. There is a plan in motion...

    Chapter 6

The connections between our cast will be more apparent before long.

    Chapter 6

Thank you! I'm pretty proud of this conversation. How it proceeded, as well as where it might take them.
  24. Mann Ramblings

    Chapter 6

Thank you! I rewrote my original dialogue to make this flow better. I wanted both characters to not come off as victims. They each have their hurdles to cross, but they'll do it better as friends rather than spouses.

    Chapter 6

Sawyer's been hiding for a while. It may take him some time to find his way.
