I see some additions have been made compared to the print version. I'm going to have to reread the last few chapters to see what bits you snuck in while I wasn't looking!

Nikon F2, Will has taste. Although I was partial to the F3 that I had; never should have sold it.

Or Roundup. That takes care of lots of green things.

A friend of mine when editing has the software do a text to voice and the computer reads the text to him. He catches lots of errors that way when it doesn't sound right.

It was in the sense of I know how things end. But it was a long night.

Good to hear that your eye is healing well. A friend and I recently had a discussion and posed the question, "if you could change one thing about your body what would it be?" The first response wasn't great pecs or 6 pack abs, it was perfect vision. I use vision all day, every day; it would be life changing to lose it.

There is a way to DM here? I didn't know that. Once I figure out how, I will provide some feedback. Fortunately, tomorrow is a holiday so I will have some time.

I did, I was impatient to see how it ended. This time you really did mess up my sleep, as I read from Chapter 25 after it was posted to the end in one go. I finished at 2:30am!

Although Neither Andrew or Will are politicians! The Nickle Resolution (note that it was simply a resolution of the House of Commons, not law) has always allowed Commonwealth and foreign honours to be bestowed on Canadians for life saving and bravery. I'd say that Andrew would definitely qualify, should HMG choose to recognize him.

Shouldn't you be drinking tea, being in the UK? It's a treat to visit the place where high quality tea, served properly hot; is universally available.
-
My first thought of seeing "Carters order" was that he got Knighthood or something similar. Andrew should get a George Cross for flying in a helicopter🤪. With the amount of CCTV in London, I can't imagine that the location of Enrico's house will be a secret to MI5 for very long.

Or it's right before bed in Western Canada and your story can disturb my sleep now...

You sneaky bugger. I though it was a typo at first.

Well that was a thriller to read! Well done and now I'm anxious to know how they get Andrew out of the compartment. Interesting last paragraph, and that the van doesn't have a UK format number plate ( unless it's a private plate I suppose). But if you're trying to stay out of sight, you don't put a private plate on a van. Nor presumably, do you drive an out of country vehicle - unless of course they are heading for the ferry and the van's home country.

I had a boss a number of years ago who was Canadian, but served in the US navy between 1962-66. He was 6'4" and spent the entire time in submarines. Apparently he wasn't too tall!

I was thinking more Bake Off!

The Sharp Edge of Elegance

I did laugh out loud at the comment about having to hose Josh down on the driveway. 😀 -
Yay another series with William and Andrew! I'm looking forward to this one. Given Will's history with his family, I'm a bit surprised that Andrew took Will's last name. If anything I would have expected the reverse.

This story in a way is reminding me of a drama I saw a long time ago called "Sleepers" - two KGB agents were sent to England and became more English than the English, and came to rather like England. Until one day many years later their secret radio came back to life to call them home to Russia. I'm envisioning Walter as looking like the agents handler, an older Michael Gough. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleepers_(TV_series) I'm curious about Josh: for someone who is supposed to be about 16, he seems to have lived and experienced a lot of things beyond his years. I would not have expected someone that young to be obviously trained and experienced in various aspects of spycraft.

That was hard to read, but I'm glad I did; and thank you for finishing the journey.

I really enjoyed this story. Via Rail Canada still operates the Budd built stainless cars that were purchased by Canadian Pacific in 1955, and very similar to the cars the Zephyr would have had then. Like your trip, meals are included in sleeper class, and I have enjoyed many fresh cooked meals in the dining car going across Canada. No reheated food like on all airlines now. I can picture exactly the accommodation you had, I took the train to Toronto in a double bedroom and it's the same. A triumph of design, just enough space for what you need, and not a wasted inch. Alas, I can't post images of the cars for some reason.

Part One: Not A Fan Of Asian Food
jagboi commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Part One: Not A Fan Of Asian Food
Brandon is a bit odd - he likes golden showers, but doesn't like the idea of a jockstrap with cum in it? I'm having this premonition that Tyler won't have any qualms about wearing a jock with Brandon's cum in it. -
Any bets that Solomon is having a fling with another woman while Mary is away at the lake? That would explain why he's not bothered that she is away.

The Okanagan valley is pretty mild, Canada's only true deserts are at the south end. It's a well known wine region, there are hundreds of winerys in the valley.

Why do I have the feeling that Jamie's pistol is going to be wholly inadequate against whatever he is up against in the steel mill?
