  2. Every winter we all have to relearn how to drive on snow and ice. Montrealers are no exception. Sometimes though it is just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Add black ice to the mix and presto. Watch both videos in the article that follows, I can so relate to what is happening to every one involved. http://globalnews.ca/news/3107028/montreal-winter-weather-pile-up-bus-car-police/?sf44927425=1 Been there, done that sandrewn (don't you just love winter)
  3. I wonder if digital cameras/phones will have the next generation scratching their heads with this one? sandrewn (caught in between)
  4. So my question to you is. Are the people who create these, extremely talented? Or just have nothing better to do with their time? sandrewn ( I voted for extremely talented)
  5. "Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life." ---J.K. Rowling
  6. We need some humor in this thread I'm just a croaking in the rain what a wonderful feeling I'm happy again sandrewn

  8. LEARN FROM YESTERDAY, LIVE FOR TODAY, HOPE FOR TOMORROW. ------ THE IMPORTANT THING IS NOT TO STOP QUESTIONING. Albert Einstein sandrewn
  9. Believe you can and you're halfway there. Theodore Roosevelt sandrewn
  10. The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity. Benjamin Franklin Politician, Writer, Scientist sandrewn (timeless)
  11. Do unto others... "I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again." Etienne de Grellet Quaker Missionary sandrewn (words to live by)
  12. I don't know about the rest of you, but up until this thread, I had never heard of Caecilians. So here is a quick 101(basic course) on them. http://animals.about.com/od/caecilians/p/caecilians.htm sandrewn (fascinating)
  13. Mark, I have said nothing since you started this thread. Do not take my silence as indifference to your circumstances. Know that I do care (I really do). As one of your main cheerleaders, I remain on the sidelines, always ready and waiting. Till the time out is over and the game resumes. Best wishes sandrewn
  14. I know life goes on and that nothing lasts for ever. It does not make me feel any better, knowing that. I will miss the site. When an author I follow passes like Ghost Rider, Walker or Sanchez, I feel bad because through their stories they became my friends and I will truly miss them. When a site goes down, it is as if a plane crashed and all the passengers were writers. Many of whom were friends. Hopefully the survivors will recover and not be afraid to fly once more. sandrewn (time marches on)
  15. Can any one here tell me how to find that thread on Snakes that was in the Lounge? I can't find it. I don't how to go back further than the three pages showing or if it is even possible to do so? Thanks in advance sandrewn
  16. Some of the previous posts' pictures can no longer be viewed. So if I duplicate one of yours, it was not intentional, sorry. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/559017/Biggest-huntsman-spider-ever-horror-pics-Brisbane-Australia-Barnyard-Betty-s-Rescue sandrewn
  17. None of you are interested? Pity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m87TR2HYakA Call me stubborn, but I really think that some of you are finding these last two videos to be as fascinating to watch as I am? sandrewn (I will persist)
  18. This video is an example of one of the reasons I started this thread. I think that everyone that views it will find something that interests them, piques their curiosity or adds to their knowledge and desire to learn something new. Please enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0rbOyOLfVw sandrewn (always curious and willing to learn something new)
  19. The Eye - Mysterious floating island discovered in Argentina! Natural or Alien? Read article and see video below. http://zeenews.india.com/environment/the-eye-mysterious-floating-island-discovered-in-argentina-watch-video_1929945.html sandrewn (I love a good mystery)
  20. When Time Stood Still http://themetapicture.com/abandoned-this-apartment-from-1942/ sandrewn (I have that tune they used (with the Ice cream truck)to lure the Triffids away with, playing in my mind) note: " The Day of the Triffids ", was one of my favorite movies.
  21. Well it is now official, all the crap from when I was a kid are worthless. The following items however are, as the title says, worth way to much money (and I don't have any of them). http://www.viralmoon.net/view/11-stupid-items-that-are-now-worth-way-too-much-money/?action=next&splopt=vip&experiment=172&page=1 sandrewn (I do have a hula hoop, yoyo, Bolo bat, roller skates and a Lionel train set)
  22. I do not seek out having pain intentionally inflicted upon myself. So what comes next is not how I would choose to make a living. No sane person would. This guy is not playing with a full deck! sandrewn (I flinched just watching this)
  23. aditus just posted a picture titled '' last rose winter ''. A real beauty, but sad that it would soon be gone. Then this tune popped into my head to help make sense of it all. sandrewn
  24. Multi talented, with a career spanning six decades, a trooper to the end. So much more, but will mayhaps, be best remembered as Carol Brady. It is my first thought when her name is mentioned. That song and that scene are what plays in my mind (you too?) And if you are of a mind too and able to go there. You could put your hands where hers left their impression and feel a closeness to her one last time. RIP Florence Agnes Henderson (Carol Brady) sandrewn
