A high speed head on, often ends as a statistic. Score this, as one for the 'Good News Thread'. If you ever wondered if a long past first aid course of any kind you took was worth it. The answer is you just never know. http://kfor.com/2016/06/08/he-was-really-lifeless-4-year-old-survives-being-internally-decapitated-in-violent-crash/ A stranger is a friend you just haven't met yet Sandrewn

You left me little to choose from in your profile ( 0 ). Having authors and other editors as friends seems to indicate you are a good one too. From your posts that I have read, your thoughts are well appreciated. You are mysterious, which makes you intriguing. Well, my fellow sexagenarian, I would like to... Wish You George Richard A Very Happy Birthday!!! Sandrewn

There is so much one could say about this man. I for one will never forget him. 2 videos for you! The first a song. The last, a parting shot, from a man who told it like he saw it. R.I.P. Muhammad Ali Sandrewn

As a fellow sexagenarian I would also like to bid you welcome to GA. For any and all info and help. On the main page go to Navigation which will bring up Help. On the Forums page go straight to Help (same info as before). If there is still a question. Go to More Options and select Staff Directory. A PM (personal message) to one of them should take care of it. So you are on your way and you have made your first post. Try and get to five posts asap as that will open up more features of the site to you. You have had an official fellow Aussie welcome (he is one of those knowledgeable staff I mentioned). You got your first Like (Good Start). I would like to be the your first official Friend here at GA. Be welcome and enjoy yourself. 1st friend at GA Sandrewn

As the week passed I felt a happy outcome was not to be this time. I was WRONG and couldn't be happier about it. The missing boy was found. Lost http://www.ctvnews.ca/world/i-regret-what-i-did-japanese-parents-abandon-child-as-discipline-return-to-find-him-gone-1.2922548 And Found http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-06-03/boy-missing-in-japan-forest-found-alive,-rescuer-says/7474000 What a great way to end the week! It was supposed to be a Smarties commercial? I don't think it originated from this side of the pond. I never saw it aired, pity it was I think a good one. You have wait to the end to see the connection to here (or fast forward). (I eat the red ones last) Sandrewn

Liked your flash mob, thanks. I had this for somewhere else, but since you brought the subject up, here it is. Sandrewn

October / Libra with the usual blurb about us. Born in the year of the Rabbit with metal as my element. I hear some snickering out there, but those of you who think a rabbit is wimpy, I invite you to watch the following. Afterwards, check over your shoulder! Know that we are everywhere. More important to YOU, an upset rabbit never(ever, ever) forgets. Sandrewn

I suppose this is one of those do you consider it, half full or half empty situations. I myself almost always choose the half full point of view. Though I think in this case with the added feature of, its the thought that counts (minus the cash, transit pass and wallet). A bit of both maybe? http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/02/a-new-yorker-lost-his-wallet-and-got-the-most-new-york-note-imaginable Sandrewn

How many of you have ever thought about Seahorses. Once in a blue moon ( ), never? You are not alone. Consider the following. http://www.theseahorsetrust.org/seahorse-facts.aspx Now, be honest guys, how many of you would want children if it was YOU in the hot seat so to speak (I sensed a bit of hesitation in your answers and the odd gulp). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKrkXXaRMUI&feature=player_embedded My hat is off to our own Moms and to all Seahorse dads, in the world. I like to think that most people are kind and caring by nature. It is good to see proof of this every so often. http://animalmozo.com/2015/11/24/27-animals-that-people-did-amazing-things-for-17-made-me-lose-it-2/ http://cottagelife.com/news/adorable-newborn-beavers-given-second-chance-thanks-to-saskatchewan-wildlife-centre Sandrewn

I enlarged your photo along with this one I found. When put side by side, they look very similar. So I believe, these are tiny baby European Garden Spiders (Araneus diadematus). They are an orb-weaver spider found in Europe and North America. Here is a reference page with multiple pictures of our little friends. https://www.google.ca/search?q=araneus+diadematus&client=ubuntu&hs=rJs&channel=fs&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjutu20-PTMAhWHHD4KHalQDZEQiR4IhgE&biw=1024&bih=747&dpr=1.25#channel=fs&tbm=isch&q=araneus+diadematus+spiderlings Sandrewn

I was looking at the latest pictures that northie put in her gallery. I used an old phrase to describe them, it was, like an 'English Country Garden'. A song came to mind that I had not heard or thought of in over forty years. I promise that I won't play it again for another forty years (and don't worry I'll be worm food by then).

I'll keep this short and to the point. Enough said, Sandrewn

A bit off the topic, but I just saw your galleries. I am out of likes, so asap I will comment on those that really caught my attention. I like the theme of your stories and will read and review also asap. Now back to the purpose of this post, which was to... Wish You metajinx A Very Happy Birthday!!! Sandrewn

How often have you heard it said, or said it yourself " We are just one big happy family!". My friends, this family is the epitome of what this often laughed at phrase, should mean. I think love & faith were and are this family's cornerstones. Of course not. Have you been to a party that at some point needed something to get the conversation going again? Yeah, me too. How about one of the following as an idea. Two points, I would like to add before hand. 1. No 3 - You would think that after all this time (2,700 years), it would now be legal! 2. No 2 - Some toys never seem to go out of fashion (28,000 years and counting). 12 of the Oldest Objects ever Discovered http://www.goliath.com/random/12-of-the-oldest-objects-ever-discovered/?streamview=all Sandrewn

To all my fellow Canadians here, I hope that you have a... Happy Victoria Day Victoria Day in 2016 In 2016 the Victoria Day holiday is on Monday, May 23. Victoria Day is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25 in every province and territory. It honours Queen Victoria's birthday. In Quebec this holiday is called "National Patriotes Day" (Journée nationale des patriotes). Victoria Day is also commonly referred to as the "May two-four weekend" or the "May long weekend" and it marks the unofficial start of the cottage season where cases of beer* are consumed by hard working Canadians. That's what we heard anyway. Or maybe it's called May two-four because May 24, 1819 is Queen Victoria's birthday :-) FYI: Prince Edward (1767–1820) after whom PEI was named was Queen Victoria's father. Victoria Day is a non-statutory "general" holiday in the maritime provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland. In Quebec the National Patriots' Day is commemorted on this day. Call it what you will, its party time (as I twist off the cap of a cold one). CHEERS!!! Sandrewn B.T.W. - Everyone else, you are invited to join in, the more the merrier!!!

As I have said before, almost every time I visit GA I learn something new. I had never heard of FIV. My found stray kitten was never sick a day for seven years. In the space of a couple of months, I was at the vets holding her as she went to sleep for the last time. I never knew if it was something I did or didn't do for her. I am now better armed for when the next stray (it's inevitable) comes along. Thank you Sandrewn

You broke through the barrier last year(50), now you can just enjoy each and every one as they come. Plus, you have all weekend to celebrate! Your works have at times made me look back at things/events in my own life and made me wonder what if, on occasion. Few writers have done that, thank you. Don't stop, your fans and friends await new chapters and stories yet to come. I do really want to... Wish You Cole Matthews A Very Happy Birthday!!! I had to reach back for this original. Sandrewn

I am going to dust off my credit card and its' really your fault! I feel the need to reread a certain story (series) of yours. I have enjoyed your stories since beginning here. I noticed a theme here today, so I'll go with it. I do want to... Wish You Rob Colton A Very Happy Birthday!!! I was going to do 'Werewolves of London', but changed it at the second. Sandrewn

Last year I put my foot in my mouth, it left a bad taste. Since then, new staff have come aboard. New features and improvements to the site are on going. Given any more thought to that well deserved mini vacation? P of D chapters (sorry, I couldn't help myself)? Thank you for all that you continue to do for GA. Have a great day and of course I want to... Wish You Myr A Very Happy Birthday!!! (Did I just cross the line with this one, if so I promise to not do it again). Sandrewn

In the US or Canada the reporter would have had to use a politically correct descriptor. Beak, Bill or Rostrum comes to mind. I just don't think Pecker would of made it? That being said, I like a happy ending. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2191699/The-boy-11-taught-stricken-bird-pecker-chick-fell-nest.html Sandrewn
