  1. Oh, you can't just leave our members hanging like that, take pity. http://www.baberuthcentral.com/babesimpact/legends/the-curse-of-the-bambino/ A personal anecdote from tonight. Everyone else thought I was on my computer. I was in fact on the roof getting shots of the last minutes of the eclipse (0015 hrs). My camera battery died, so no last shots.. When I got down, I found the back door locked. I had locked the front door earlier. To make a long story short. Got into the garage (keypad), got the twelve foot ladder. Climbed up onto the front balcony, T.G. the patio doors weren't locked. Put everything away and now I am in front of the computer clicked away to you. Good night Sandrewn
  2. Reader1810 and jfalkon, sorry that Mother Nature is not cooperating for you. To you two and any others out there, the best site I have found so far seems to be the following one: http://heavy.com/news/2015/09/supermoon-super-blood-moon-lunar-eclipse-live-stream-video-online-nasa-free-youtube-ustream/ From my location (Montreal), the moon is almost half eclipsed, still some time till full eclipse. Once the bright white is covered, the dark shadow will start to progressively turn (appear) reddish, devilishly so, I hope. Strange, I seem to have an urge to howl, go figure. Sandrewn
  3. It is the memory that will be engraved into your daughters' mind tonight, what she will use to compare with the next one she sees in 2033. Hopefully with you there watching too. With luck me too, the Lord willing and the creek don't rise ( I was and always will be a John Wayne fan). Speaking of taking pictures, it must be frustrating to both Palintir and Graeme (you guys take great pics) to be in the wrong place at the right time ( watch that NASA live feed ). To The_Jordanator, you should watch it, the next one for you will be in double your time of existance (to date) plus three or so years. http://www.space.com/19878-halleys-comet.html More humbling still is that our lives are not even a blink on the cosmic screen. Of the billions who saw this same eclipse in 1910, possibly 250 thousand are still alive. Halley's Comet passed by in 1986, with 75 yrs between each pass, it will be 2061 when next seen. I would be 110 years young at that point (not good odds). Some of you reading this WILL here to see it. Am I jealous, not really. Do I envy you, yes. So, barring a Big Super Volcano (extinction), a Bloody big Asteriod (more extinction) or some damn idiot with an itchy trigger finger on some blasted Great Big Red Button (damned followed shortly by extinction). Please think back to this time, this day, this minute and my wishing well to you. Locheim Sandrewn
  4. With an eclipse of the sun, you are not supposed to look directly without proper protection. With an eclipse of the moon, I agree, overcast is a pain in the butt. Good news You/We can watch it live, on a few sites. This one looks to be promising. http://www.space.com/30662-supermoon-total-lunar-eclipse-webcast.html I will try to see and photograph it. For sure I will watch it live on line if it goes down to 5 degrees celsius again tonight. Happy viewing Sandrewn
  5. Like Graemes Good News Thread, I'm not sure if this going to be a flop or a door to wonders galore. Often, each of us, sees or hears of something that we feel might be of interest to others. As an Intro - I submit the following: Super Harvest Blood Moon Eclipse https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/nasa-scientist-sheds-light-on-rare-sept-27-supermoon-eclipse This will be my third, with luck I'll be around for my fourth (2033). For some of you, your first. There are a few still around from the 1910 eclipse UN census said as of 2012 that there were approximately 316,600 people in the world 100 or more years old, alive. http://populationpyramid.net/world/2015/ Point of interest, there are today, 5 people left who were born in the 1800s. http://www.earthporm.com/5-women-represent-last-living-people-born-1800s/ I was surprised that no one else had brought tonights eclipse up. 6. This is definetly food for thought. A penny (or more appropriately a spud) for your thoughts on this? Now I suppose that this song will have to be adjusted to include this new way of using the potato. Sandrewn
  7. As all the Canuks before me have said, thank you all for your best wishes. It is good to have friends like you. Thanks Sandrewn
  8. Just for the record, if I wasn't a Canadian, I would be proud to be an American. So to you, all my friends south of the border, I wish you a great and grand... I couldn't help it, I wanted something just a bit different. Sandrewn (FrenchCanadian, I have the movie and am watching it now )

  11. The 21st BD, one of the biggies, congratulations to you. I am so glad that things are looking up for you. Just keep on believing in yourself. Did you ever wonder why a birthday cake is the only food that you can blow on and spit on and everybody rushes to get a piece? I tried to figure out a video for you. I went through all your listed interests. Daisy was my last hope, but alas a birthday bunny I could not find. I found a cool penguin one, but decided against it. Finally, I thought that since this site is call GA Authors and you are one of the authors, well see for yourself. So any ways to you... scotty94 Wishing you on this extra special day A very Happy 21st Birthday Sandrewn
  12. Sorry for all the mistakes in the above, darn, darn, darn and it wasn't even a paragraph's worth. Sandrewn
  13. Hi PlsSenpai, let me be the second to welcome you to our GA family. I think you will like here. You may have noticed brother Ricky's strange sense of humor , don't worry he will grow on you. Just take a look at his location (I rest my case). Read the how to sections and the staff ( a great bunch) will guide you to what need and want to do. I am one of the older (age wise) members, so bear that in mine with this welcome video. Be welcome Sandrewn
  14. 50, it is only a number just like all the rest. Older yes, I don't know about the any wiser part? You are only as old as you feel, trust me, your body will tell you when to take it down a notch. Yet, still to young to retire. Congats you have entered into the twilight zone. The next notable, but just a number like all the rest, to look forward to is 65. However that's still a ways off, I'll remind you of it, if I'm still around and kicking. You might want to invite Atlas and Boo to watch the second video. Cole Matthews May today be the best first day possible of the rest of your life A great big Happy Birthday wish to you!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SckQpKIXjw Sandrewn
  15. I know they say that silence is golden and six years of it shows how determined you seem to be, in that not a peep has been heard from you since day one. The fact that you were on line as late as yesterday shows a continued interest of our site. Many of the authors you follow and stories that you have read are some of my favorites to. I like you for many years just watched and read, never joining in.Then one day I got pissed off when it seemed as if a particular author's story I was reading was getting little feed back from his readers, but a constant demand from the same people for quicker posts from the author. If this was a paying membership site, that would almost be a reasonable thing. BUT, the authors here do it for the love of writing and in their off time, from the real world. So I lost my temper, joined and gave my to cents worth and the rest as they say is history. That is the reward (pay) they get, appreciation by our reviews, comments and suggestions or just a simple thank you as an incentive to keep on writing. After all these years, no one has said it to you, so here it goes, five plus years late. Ray1950 Wishing you every happiness on this special day Happy birthday Sandrewn PS THe first review or post is the hardest, after that, the rest just plain fun.
  16. (Pardon my French) but it is that darn picture that you use, that makes me think of a lumber jack, trucker or cowboy, each time that I see it. Then add to that when you were born, I was learning how to drive a Sherman. So finding a BD video for you was difficult. I finally picked a western theme, sorry if I got it wrong (there is always next year, the Lord willing). B.T.W. the video has nothing to do with birthdays, but I liked it and hope you do too. So Rob Colton Here is hoping you have a Grand and Great Happy Birthday Sandrewn
  17. July 2003 and still going strong ! A third of your life, over half of your adult life invested in building this site, WOW( )! Thank you for all that you have done, are doing and hopefully will be doing for us in the years to follow. The team you have now is awesome and it should allow you to take some well deserved time off to relax a bit. Of course while on this little time out you might just happen to get an urge to add the odd chapter or two to HP and the Parliament of Dreams, not that I am asking or anything (puppy dog eyes). I seem to have gotten of track here, so to you... Myr :joe: Wishing you the best ever Happy Birthday Sandrewn P.S. I have saved you a year of life. No matter how I add it up, I still get 37 years old, not 38. Cheers.
  18. Ever have one of those days? In my case months, years and even decades (with the odd lapse in memory). The last time we spoke, I promised you reviews and posts, I guess that kick in the butt I got from CIA wasn't hard enough. Note to self, read the stories asap. If you didn't know, you now know that you are missed, we look forward to your return. So, a week after the fact, I would like Thorn Wilde to wish you a Happy Birthday I hope it was a good one I took for granted you meant the new Sherlock Best wishes Sandrewn
  19. LIke every one else on this page, I am here to wish you the best on this the 7,670 th day of your life. Yes, it is just another day, but western society says, this is a big one, the age of majority (do you feel any different?). Now, I looked at a whole bunch of 21 B & just B day videos for you and wasn't impressed. So instead the following is my birthday wish to you and a video I hope you like. x 20 + 1 = Never Surrender = x 20 + 1 Happy 21st Birthday Sandrewn note: 1.That number included 5 leap years. 2. Cross car off your wish list.
  20. The last time we spoke, I told you how much I enjoyed your stories. Now I would add how much I appreciate your work in helping to making this site a better place for all of us. I know that I am bit late, but I hope you had a great day, yesterday. Graeme Sandrewn
  21. What DDK said and you were the the reason that I came on board. Wishing you the BESTEST EVER HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! Crewman Sandrewn
  22. GFD was the first story on the net I can recall reading. Who would of thought, after all this time (15+yrs) I would still be eagerly waiting for the next chapter. Adding to which as a super bonus, I am now able to wish the author, who is just turning 40 a hearty and most joyous... Happy Birthday !! Sandrewn
  23. Ricky beat me to it (yet again) in thanking you for this latest chapter. I had just turned on my computer, clicked GA and seen your update (5 min ago) and fired this off to you. Sight unseen, thank you in advance for your return Bridgemont. I have spent a bit of time looking up anything on the local royalty, any politics and/or historical in and around the Med, that you might use in some way in the chapter(s) to come. Now I will get to see if anything that I found, turns up. It is a win-win situation no matter what, YAY! Thanks again, good to have you back. Sandrewn
  24. Ouch, its was working just two weeks ago. The following was working 5 min ago, but it is in two parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqqAFJDIkdk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWzPgpg2bjA
  25. Now that we know the darkness will soon be ending, I have another video for you to help get past this short wait. Valiant's masthead is supposed to be Oden's horse (a viking horse?). A possible modern version of him? http://features.cgsociety.org/newgallerycrits/g72/354172/354172_1237381300_large.jpg I was from a young age fascinated with the idea of a Viking Funeral. The following film was/is a favourite of mine and it has a Viking funeral and as a bonus is about the French Foreign Legion, another subject of interest to me. I present to you ' Beau Geste ' . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hOnTpJQLpY
