    Chapter 15

In command and his first prize as a captain. With a bonus of 987 gold coins as an extra. Now that is how you define success and the adventure continues. Great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 14

George fraught his first action as a captain and acquitted himself quite well. He is loosing his command, but getting a chance to sail her back for a refit. Knowing Mark, something will happen along the way (I hope). Great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 13

A command, granted a temporary one,but still, a frigate and a crew of fifty men and a bonus cook. When things go right for George, they seem to in a big way. What next? Great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 12

Quite the compliment to George to be put in charge of selecting and preparing the ships to be returned. Then his caring enough to brave possible captivity in order to secure a pass for Carmody, tells a lot of his character and sense of right and wrong. Great chapter, thank you.
  5. The thought of separating if he joined the army was agonizing. The idea of Matthew being able to join in light of what Artie had said and the thought of him (Matthew) being killed was even more heart breaking, what to do, what to do? Beam me up if those boxy aeroplanes don't sound a lot like space shuttles. Yet another great chapter, thank you.
  6. Ricky, I agree with you about Kingsdale. I still hold out hope that Mark will keep him around. He is supposed to get together with Caroline on how to manage an estate and the Earl did seem to like him. Let us think positive thoughts and hope for the best and for the bagpipes. I also agree that the series wouldn't be the same without having Winkler there scurrying and fussing about in the back ground. Note: Okay, boys and girls, we have made it back to tied for 6th place, let us try for sole 6th, 5th should be easy and even 4th a possibility. You just have to have faith (and reviews), come on just one (a few) more for the Gipper.

    Chapter 11

A definite lesson to all. Now if only George could control his own short comings. Then again that would probably kill the series. So the heck with it, carry on George (err..Mark). Good chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 65

Winkler finally has someone he call his own, now how will George set it up to keep them together. Calvert has become the captian I always thought he could be, even standing up to Lord St Vincent. George will be so proud. Mark I think you will some how get George to meet up with Eastwyck somewhere in France (in Gay Paree?), just so that none his crew will be left behind. I wonder if those of Georges' crew who want to could go to the abbey until (I'm hoping) he was to get another ship. Some of them have been with him since the beginning. This was really a great chapter, thank you ever so much. Oh and I hope the bagpipes were saved.

    Chapter 10

Two courts martial so far in his career, a pivotal role in each case and now he has Shafte. Granger always seems to get his man (in the end). Great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 9

I had forgotten about Iggy tucked away ont the Italian coast. George seems able to find love (lust) on land or sea, where ever he goes. I don't suppose becoming a daddy will slow him down any. I still like our hero inspite of his slutty ways. Good chapter, thank you.
  11. sandrewn

    Chapter 8

It seems like a small navy, first Bell and now Blackwell who knows ( ? ) Arthur. Has George found a new hero to worship (Nelson)? Great chapter, thank you.
  12. sandrewn

    Chapter 7

115 ships of the line and who knows how many frigattes and sloops, yet here is Robie in the same cabin with him. This is definite Ripleys' believe it or not momment. Even though he is with flag, I just know that George will some how get into the action(s) to come. Great chapter, thank you.
  13. sandrewn

    Chapter 6

A midshipman, now a commander, he is working up and through the Wilcoxs. I didn't count the embarrassed captian at his board. To Georges' continued success, hip hip hooray. Great chapter, thank you.
  14. sandrewn

    Chapter 5

Just settling in and now off, out of the blue into another adventure (a Wilcox again). I like the way you keep the excitement levels at their peaks, keeps me on my toes. Great chapter, thank you.
  15. sandrewn

    Chapter 4

A little action above decks and a little (or not so little) below, I think you struck a nice balance. great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 3

Georges' life is like a rollercoaster. Down to the bottom with yet another Wilcox. Then cresting at the top in the arms Travers. Just like in real life. What a great job of a chapter, thank you.
  17. sandrewn

    Chapter 2

Now that is what I call a whirl wind courtship, slam, bam and thank you mam. Those Wilcoxs' still out to get him (close call). Off to a new assignment and the adventure continues. Great chapter, thank you.

    Chapter 1

Just a note, disregard my first sentance in the story review of The Gunroom. George had seen death before, but this midshipman was his up and close first personal one. I am sure there will be others, however the first one will always remain vivid in his mind. Georges' wound was so close to an eye. I guess that would make him lucky from a another point of view. Where will he end up after he recovers? This was a great start to the further adventures of our hero, thank you.

    The Gunroom

Mark I enjoyed the first book, but this one was the best. I only wish that it would have been longer. Your ability to spin a tale and draw us into it was masterful. Well done and thank you.

    Chapter 13

Helping to capture a Corvette and now his promotion to Lt, life is good. Murphy's Law says if something can go wrong it will. What does the future hold for (no longer acting) Lt Granger? Great chapter and ending to part II. I look forward to his further adventures, thank you.
  21. sandrewn

    Chapter 12

His first real action and two ships captured, a great career starter. Then to add frosting to the cake, a cruise with John. Life is good (while this lasts). Great chapter, thank you.
  22. sandrewn

    Chapter 11

George is 3rd Lt and has his own midshipman, boy, where has the time gone. Now he has crossed that line with the Captian (a hanging offence). Add to all of this he met his possible future wife. This was a jam packed chapter, thank you.
  23. sandrewn

    Chapter 10

Travers a Commander, inspite of his father. George a Lt, albeit acting for now. Things are starting to move rather quickly. How will George handle this separation? Will absence really make the heart grow fonder? Great chapter, thank you.
  24. sandrewn

    Chapter 9

Two Warrant officers, Two Midshipmen, the 2nd Lt and now the Captian, not to mention a heir th the Throne of France. I don't know, but for someone who was trying to curb his behavior, this would be an impressive list even for Giacomo Casanova. Now, you toss in Bertie to further stir the mix. Great chapter, thank you.
  25. sandrewn

    Chapter 8

What a complete reversal of roles (George / John). Travers may well have a chance (future) now in the navy. Winkler I guess is going back to sea with them. Great chapter, thank you.
