Have a good afternoon Mike and send the same to tim for me.

Unfortunately not all things can be gotten past by agreeing to disagree. Sometimes a feeling runs so deep you need to separate yourself from the source. I don't think anyone here meant to make things difficult on tim, but sometimes it happens. I just went back and read the article tim posted. In my attempt to play catch up I skipped over it yesterday. I find it deeply disturbing that a child feels the need to write a will, but if that is what s/he needs to do to deal, I will hand him a pen and paper, help with spelling, and cry every step of the way. Perhaps the seeming acceptance of the situation is because those seeming accepting have never seen violence against children first hand. Seeing it on the evening news and standing between an abusive father and the child are totally different.

You are spot on with that belief Mike. I used to run a sight for a before and after school program (about 12 years) and the day a girl came in with a broken collar bone provided by her father was rough. Was even rougher when he showed up in the evening demanding I release the girl to him in spite of the TRO provided by her mother. Was a rather tense afternoon as my baseball bat (closest I could come to any sort of defensive weapon) and I kept him in the hall outside the classroom till the police arrived. The janitor came running to help, but he was half my size, and dad was similar in build to how tim describes you. To this day we still have not figured out how he opened so many locked classroom doors! If it would help you can tell him that while my household does own guns ( we are avid hunters and shoot competition trap) we also believe in gun control, background checks, including psyche tests, and the like.

Well if it is something I said, I am sincerely sorry. If that is the case, please let me know in a pm.

Good morning all. Hard to believe it's THURSDAY already! Where has the week run off to?? Good grip strength! Doesn't it always?
-
Morning peeps. @MichaelS36 if you come in, please pass a huge hug and message on to tim for me. Just remember we love you and will be here when you are ready to come back.

My sister in law stayed with us for several months bringing her cat. We had several interesting conversations when I would toss the cat back into her room threatening to make her mittens by winter after catching the creature on my kitchen counters.

Last evening after dinner I woke in my recliner sometime in the middle of the movie I remember turning on, with my daughters pup curled up next to me with her head in my lap.

Is it possibly pasteurized to extend shelf life? I freeze fruits in season, so I have things like. Blue berries etc around all winter. Plain yogurt, two drops of vanilla and a handful of pureed berries - yum!

Would love to dance with you! Oh hell no. One must be firm when taking new members into the herd! Let them know who is Alpha!

True, but the Russian and Greek Orthodox churches go by a different calendar, so both dates are anywhere from a week to two different. That adds up to two of each holiday, including New Years. I swear my friend slept through the last two weeks of January every year!

That was probably me. Doesn't have to be plain, just live culture. Those are odd instructions. Even when I had such an wicked infection in my leg I ended up doing IV antibiotics from the myacin class ( strongest available) there were no dietary restrictions, in fact most said take WITH food.

Good morning all, Happy Boxing Day. Was supposed to go fox hunting today but my customer couldn't get the day off adjacent to the holiday. Boxing day hunt is full of pomp and tradition, so I am not going to miss hanging in the hunt house today! What he said. We are family and are here for each other no matter what day stress decides to drop in! Point is Orthodox holidays are about a week to two later than "normal" ones. I always thought it cool they got TWO Christmases! And to top it off, my friend that was Greek Orthodox also celebrated the day the wise men showed up too! Personally I think it was an "any excuse to extend the holiday season" sort of thing! Yogurt Thorn! Lots of live culture yogurt! Replaces the good bacteria in your gut that the antibiotics kill off. That's the problem with antibiotics - kill off ALL the bugs, even the ones you want!

Started right after the sight upgrade. Guess the new and old programs didnt like each other.

I may not have been to church in over 30 years, not since the parish priest threatened to excommunicate me ( Long story for another day), but I still do not eat meat on the eve. Don't even cook the meats for Christmas day, that starts after mass at midnight, or in my case while others are at mass. I would bake a fresh ham for the non Italians that have married into the family, but I would not eat it myself, nor would my mom.

That is a whole other set of traditions in an Italian family. No meats at all, pasta dressed in olive oil with seven different kinds of fish. Anchovies are cooked down into a paste in the olive oil, and there are 6 other types, usually including cod or flounder, calamari, shrimp, smelts, crab cakes and squinguilli. Other Italian families I know use different fishes, but its always 7 types. Last night we only did three, since it was just me and hubby. Seven would have had us knee deep in left overs and fish does not keep well!

The old one was over 6 years old and would no longer allow me to access GA. Asked the kids to do the update on it, it got dropped to the floor when my daughter fell asleep, and subsequently stepped on. Was still functional despite the cracked screen, but but still would not let me access GA!

Tradition starts with breakfast here. Sausage gravy over biscuits. Mine are made with well drained ground sausage and beef stock to make the gravy, making it a tad healthier than gram's version using the sausage drippings. Lunch is catch as catch can while cooking up a storm for dinner. Originally dinner started around 2 with an antipasto, (Yes I am Italian) followed around 4 ish with fresh pasta, home made sauce and several different meats. Break time to wash dishes and around 6 ish out comes turkey, gravy done with chicken stock instead of bird drippings, home made cranberry relish, mashed potatoes and swede, sauteed broccoli with olive oil, garlic and lemon. Another dishes break, then coffee and deserts. A tray with Gorgonzola cheese, apple and orange slices, figs and dates, and rice pudding made from my Norwegian mother in laws recipe, and there is usually pumpkin pie as well. Bear in mind this was when we had anywhere from 15 to 30 peeps in for dinner and we took turns what house, with everyone helping with the cooking and clean up. Now that we are a much smaller crowd we do the pasta another night, and stick to greatly reduced amounts of the bird and trimmings. It's tough to find a turkey to feed 5 without a megaton of left overs!

But you are an INTERESTING nerd!

Isn't the eggnog that is the problem, it's the stuff you dress it up with! Swede boiled into submission and mashed, potatoes on the way, desert finished, broccoli ready to steam, and bird dressed and ready to hit the oven around 2 ish for dinner at 7. Can I goof off for a bit?

Good morning everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄 You are up early @Page Scrawler. I enjoyed a bit of a sleep in. I think its a little sad though that I consider it a sleep in if the sun makes it over the horizon before I get up! You are up early @Page Scrawler. I enjoyed a bit of a sleep in. Good morning all and a very Merry Christmas to you all! Happy Birthday tim! May your day not get lost in the merriment of Christmas. I always felt Christmas babies get the short end of the stick! @MichaelS36 I need your help please. Give tim a huge REAL hug from me. Its the closest thing I can do to show him I care! I know we get a little too Waltonish for you sometimes, but you are stuck with us. Hugs for you too.
