Good morning all. Sitting @ the show in Maryland waiting for the crew i left here Thursday to finish. Pretty day, hot but not too humid. Yes it is Molly! This crew is a pleasure to take places.

Seems the horse owner forgot to ask about arriving so early. Since first ride time is 2 pm they figured open everything around 1. Then i show up @ 12...

Okaaaay Arrive @ todays show, admittedly about 15 minutes earlier than we planned. I allowed more fudge factor time to get around the construction zone than needed. Go to pull in and the gate is padlocked.

Same could be said for pork roll/Taylor ham (the latter being a specific brand ). Friends moved out of state. Until Amazon came along I had to buy, freeze, and then overnight ship it to him several times a year.

I do love towing for peeps that know what they are doing! We're about 20 min behind schedule loading, but I build in fudge factors for just such emergencies as the freshly bathed white pony that rolled in his own manure sometime between last night check @ .midnmimidnight and 6 am finish the last min packing time. Every horse walked right on, every horse paid for before loading. And @ the show 20 minutes earlier than planned! Did not need all the fudge time I allowed!

I have a big tow this weekend dropping 6 horses off 3 hours south and picking them up again Sunday. They all looked very shocked in the planning meeting when I said I needed half the money up front, remainder the day we head out. Most of the parents were cool with it after one guy pointed out I would be expending my time, that of my other drivers, and fuel. Actually, he said "Why TF do you expect HER to put money out? It's bad enough she ends up having to send you people reminders you forgot to pay for a one day show!" I have payment in full for 4 of the 6 already, and have been assured the other 2 will have checks for me before load time.

Why do people hire a professional "because my horse is difficult to load" then proceed to ignore every word said professional says, do exactly what will reinforce the poor loading behavior, then get angry when the horse will not load?

Is that an admission the Krew is right???

"Horses didn’t feed themselves." The real problem is if food is late, they WILL feed themselves. They are 1200 pound toddlers, and portion control is not in their skill set, nor do they make good choices on WHAT to eat. That could result in very expensive vet bills or worse.

Same goes for breast cancer treatment. The morning of surgery i had no fewer than 15 different men viewing/handling not just the one to be operated on, but the healthy one as well. Most just ordered me around( lay here, do this, turn that way). Only one I would call a gentleman. I had to be injected with radio active isotopes in the area of the tumor, that were then tracked to determine if/which lymph nodes needed to be examined to determine if the cancer had metastasized. He started by apologizing for the fact he needed me to bare the breast, took care of business as quickly as he could, and then laid a drape quickly over me instead of standing gaping while I replaced the gown like the others had.

Well, it is...in summer.

That has GOT to be the most disorganized horse show I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with! I understand it was the 4H state final. I understand there were a lot of entries. Schedule claimed done by 5, closing ceremony @ 6. My clients had no one competing in the speed classes, so said pick them up @ 3. So we get there 3. They FINALLY were ready to load @ 8. Kids ( not ours) were still competing as we loaded. 2 hrs to their barn. Another hour to our house. This dinner @ 10:30 at night is for the birds!

I was thinking emancipation as well, but that is a much longer legal route than Poppa Riggs fostering him, even allowing for the crossing state lines thing. He would need to prove to both the courts and a shrink that he is capable and grounded enough to fend for himself.

Granted we were only getting 9% occlusion by me, but I was working outside at the time and never even noticed the eclipse! Totally missed the whole thing going on right over my head!

He is doing quite well. We saw a difference almost immediately on completion of the procedure. A Saturday @ home usually consisted of him taking several naps while I did chores etc. Yesterday we had planned a do nothing day to recover.(If I didn't plan on doing nothing, he would have been doing things he was told not to when I was not looking.) Grumpy old goat wasn't grumpy at all and didn't take a single nap all day!

Between working horse shows most weekends, the horses not caring what day of the week it is, and having hubby home for dr appointments on random days, I NEVER know what day of the week it is any more!

Mixed feelings on the day. Hubby's cardiac catherization went great. We are in the post op holding pattern. Not so great is the "patient update app" never updated while I was waiting. Supposedly the indicators change color when he comes out of OR, again in recovery, a third time in stage 2 holding and a final change when they stamp for discharge. Told it was a 45 min to an hour procedure. At the 2 hr mark I started asking questions. Lady @ desk said she knows no more than I do. 2 hr 30 min mark the board still says in the OR, but a staff member comes out to collect me, saying "why didn't you come back to Stage 2 holding when it lit up? Ummm, because it says he is still in OR? And I quote "Oh Shit! I'm soooo sorry!" Yeah, he has the the issue. I get the spiking blood pressure!
