Hubby finally went back to work last week. We cruised for the first week playing things by ear. This week we embark on a campaign to get back to normal!
-
I swear! Keeping tract of a 2 year old is easier than this 20 yr old college kid I am taking to shows! Hubby wants to put a bell on her!
-
I was thinking train?

We stop in every time we head to NH to visit friends that moved up there. Every time we do he says no christmas cookie candles, my favorite. He says it makes him disappointed walking in thinking I baked and finding out its just a candle.
-
Sure you do. Went right to the gutter where most of us hang. You are thankful the weather geeks have finally stopped cursing @ us, using the "s" word!

Now that is just rotten to do to a kid! Got a call 8:30 this morning, can I take a horse that I had moved a couple of times to a show about an hour away. She had made arrangements with someone who reached out on Facebook to share a ride and save a little money. This 19 year old is a bit nieve and paid up front. Long story short, trailer was supposed to pick them up 7:00 this morning, no showed, and all messages were ignored. I got her there, she had to ride in a later division, but we made it work. How do you do that to a kid?

I am not sure which got under my skin the last 6 months more... the whiny "what if I cand do the things I like anymore" or the constant fight to keep him off the foot while it healed, chasing him with his crutches etc when he was told none weight bearing. At one point I told him You use the crutches or I will use them to beat some sense into your head."

I broke out the sunscreen today. High temp hit 87*. It's too early for this nonsense! And being April in NJ the possibility of wintery storms here is not past yet. We have had very cold rain/wet snow as late as May1.
-
I agree wholeheartedly! That's how my husband lost 3 toes this past winter. Stepped on a small piece of wire, did not feel it due to diabetic neuropathy, ignored the swelling from the infection, and hid it all from me till the thing turned a pretty shade of green. When I found out and dragged him kicking and screaming to the ED they removed the toes and basically split his foot in half to clean the infection. If you need to scare him into it I can send pics of his foot at various stages of healing starting with the first bandage change after surgery.

Lots depends on WHY you want to change. When mom' oncologist insisted on speaking to us like we were toddlers and regularly answered questions with various versions of " because I said so" we fou b d a new one. When I told him we were changing docs he told me we could not do that, I informed him, loud enough for the patients in the chemo room to hear "Your bedside manor sucks, as does your attitude. Read my lips, you are FIRED." and we walked out. New oncologist read her file, changed just about everything about her treatments, and said the old guy was an out of date quack. Change over was actually fairly easy and worth every bit of the hassle of strangling the records out of the old guy. The 3x a week calls from his office asking when I was bringing her in for her next appointment not so much. I finally blocked them and reported the office when the message he left himself asked if I was trying to kill my mother.
-
Oh HELL no! He has to do SOME of the paperwork around here!
-
Lol the taxes were the easy part. Strangling the info outta him was the frustrating part!
-
Under normal circumstances that is exactly what I do, but because he has been on disability for 4 months, I needed info from his HR portal, for which Mr Seive for a Memory could not remember his log in info! You better believe I now have it written down after 30 min of "I forgot my log in" shinanigans!
-
😡 How does one maintain their sanity while doing taxes when one is married to a guy who cant remember what he has for breakfast but creates log in info for work portal and refuses to write said log in info down? Additionally, when told to get last year's return out of the file cabinet, bottom drawer front, he swore it was nowhere in the cabinet, that he looked thru all drawers and could not find it. I walked over reached in and pulled it out.

I still have my snow shovel by the front door. My season supply of sunscreen has been procured. I should not, however, need to use both in the same week, but this year I have!

What time is supper? I'll bring peach cobbler and ice cream ( both sugar free)

Never have, but will try any critter once. Have done alpaca, cows, pigs and goats. Goats were interesting. Put one in and he managed to excape before we got #2 in, took 4 of us to keep 1 & 2 in while getting the 3rd in and then humans out without having to start over. Then we could not get the little buggers out again! Once they discovered the hay they laid down to eat. Edit to add A friend who has one tells me they can be temperamental. Fine and cooperative one minute then have what he calls a yak out. He says if he needs to move it he mildly sedated it.
-
When did we name the yak Bill?? Did I miss something???
-
Lmao! My daughter's dog ( a rescue mutt) tries to con a second dinner out of one of us on a regular basis, especially if someone is out at dinner time. She gets fed on schedule, then tries to con the one coming in late!
-
Wait till supper time. The pups will REALLY get confused when the food and the clock dont match.
-
Serve it with a nice cup of your favorite soup!

Unfortunately by the time PD is involved, good has usually ended long before.
