  1. Matt's an odd one. At this point in the story, he's not hugely fond of Dave. You'll get to know him better as you go. He's one of my favourite characters in this series, actually.
  2. Thank you for reading it! I'm so, so pleased you enjoyed it. ❤️
  3. This is a factually inaccurate statement. The research on the topic of PTSD triggers is not especially limited, nor is there any indication that giving people heads up about potentially triggering topics is harmful. Some folks would rather have the warning and be able to sleep the following three nights. And even if you don't believe that, there is nothing wrong with wanting to avoid content that makes you uncomfortable for whatever reason. People read stories for lots of different reasons, and if someone wants to avoid topics that may provoke strong, negative emotional responses, they should be able to do so. Content warnings are a good thing for the people who want or need them, and at worst a mild inconvenience for those who don't. Nothing wrong with having a little empathy.
  4. I've been doing this for the novel I'm working on. Writing background scenes that'll likely never go in the story to get to know my characters and their motivations, and the setting of my story a little better.
  5. I like Taran's mom. She seems like a really good person. His dad's clearly a piece of work, though. I look forward to more!

    A Spring Haiku

When I have the opportunity to use it, I jump. lol! It really smelled like petrichor that night... Thank you! ❤️
  7. Wow, that is not okay by any stretch of the imagination. Paid bonus content that isn't integral to the story, that's fine. Previewing content to, say, patrons on Patreon before making it publicly available for free, also totally cool. But making people pay for part of a story when the rest is free? That's just a dick move.

    A Spring Haiku

Thank you! It is a wonderful descriptive word. So much meaning in just three syllables...

    A Spring Haiku

Thanks! It's one of my favourite words too.
  11. it smells like spring now midnight chill and petrichor carried on the wind
  12. I love seeing how Ronnie has to learn to control his powers. It's very... realistic isn't really the right word, given the setting, but it makes it feel more real. It's something he has to struggle with and work on. I like that. Again, you paint vivid pictures. Can't wait for more! Perhaps next chapter gives some more insight into Taran's family situation, hm?

    Small World

This was a great poem. Thanks for sharing it. The last part really spoke to me. I took the trash out the other night. It was late, past midnight. And I took a breath of air and it smelled so clean. It didn't smell like Oslo. It smelled like standing in a field in the middle of nowhere after it's rained. Such a strange feeling. Yeah, the Earth doesn't miss us at all.
  14. Aww, that's so sweet! ❤️ Once again, I find myself captured by your descriptions. In their briefness and simplicity, you paint such a clear picture. I could see them walk through the rose garden, fly up to the top of the dome, could see the sunset and the city below them.
  15. Your role, and that of the people you work with and manage, is so, so important right now. I'm proud of you.
  16. Thank you for reading it.

  20. I could have sworn you'd told me about that blond, though! Maybe it was over PM, I don't know. Either that or an extreme case of deja vu.

    Today

We had to go out to take the kitten to the vet, for the rest of her vaccines, on Tuesday. There were some people about, but less that usual. Paul went to the supermarket on the way back and it seems like people have stopped hoarding. We went for a walk around the lake too, on Wednesday. People were idiots, passing way too close to one another, but otherwise it was nice to get some air.

    Virus

I know. I agree. It's horrible and inhumane. Turning humans into statistics.

Wow, that last line really hit me. Well written.
  24. I feel like you've told that story before... I was terrible at maths. Or I thought I was. What actually happened when I was 8 was I'd help my best friend with her work and not have time to finish my own. The teachers thought I didn't get it and put me in a special group. By the time it became clear that I didn't belong there, I'd missed division. Which meant that when we started fractions I was utterly lost, which meant that I got even more delayed. I'm actually pretty good at maths, and the more abstract the better.
