  1. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that you like my boys. Yeah, I think it's in their fuckedupness the charm lies, that's why people like the stories.

Thank you for reading it! Yeah, it was a very conscious decision not to change the order of the series and put this as part one after I'd written it, something I could have done. As I said in a comment above, it's chronologically the beginning, but I think the stories before are required for context. When I published my book with these stories in it, I also placed these two chapters in the same place.

    Jacob

I had fun writing this one. I mean, I mostly had fun writing all of them, but I love the scene with the sausages. lol! That part is not entirely fictional. It's partly based, with a lot of artistic license, on a third hand account of a similar story someone allegedly experienced. Authors who say they never ever borrow from things they've heard or seen are liars. Thanks for reading!

Omg, I missed this comment! So sorry. I think to Jacob, Oliver was safe and easy, taking absolutely no effort. That's not to say that he didn't completely, on some level, give a shit; there must have been some part of him that enjoyed Oliver's company. But it wasn't much deeper than that, I think. People who say that about swearing are like people who call sarcasm the lowest form of wits: Prudes who just don't get it.

    Strong

Thank you! Yeah, the two of them are damaged enough that only they can save each other. Thanks for commenting!
  6. Sounds... entertaining. lol! I've spent several days 'fixing' one of my games (with lots and lots of mods) to make it just the way I like it, so today I finally got to play it. That's my entertainment.

It's not easy, that's for sure. The brain has its ways of helping us deal with trauma, though. Humans are resilient creatures.

Haha, I've got you in my clutches now!

All children are psychopaths. I jest, but while you're right that violence breeds violence, but it's fully possible to be an asshole without that kind of excuse. Kids do all kinds of horrible things to fit in or be seen as cool. If you're in a toxic environment, you can get radicalised or fall to peer pressure. As you'll learn going forward, Jason has a perfectly fine home life. Sometimes, a jerk is just a jerk.

You make her sound so shallow. It's not about hair and clothes and appearance, it's a conduit through which social interaction and thoughts and feelings can be processed. Anyway, I had about 25 years of experience being a 'girl' before I figured out that I wasn't so... maybe not that surprising that I can capture it. Thanks for commenting!

    Daniel

I'm glad you think so. That's very much one of the central themes of this story.

    Weak

Thank you! They were always fun to write. I had to force myself to stop in the end.... lol!

    Hard

Well, there are plenty more stories to go, so you'll find out. Hehe. Thanks for commenting! Glad you like it.
  14. Hey, you two. Hey, everyone else. Hope you're all having a good day.
  15. I personally like tall beds. Mine is kind of tall, though I can still reach the floor sitting on it if I stretch a little.

    Daniel

Thank you, Talo. I appreciate that. I’m glad you’re enjoying the story. Daniel certainly has a lot of issues, as you will come to learn as yoU read further. He’s a complex kid. I don’t think he’s justifying the bullying, exactly... just accepting it as something that is. As someone who was bullied my whole childhood and learned how futile it was to try and fight back, I wish I had been able to just accept it the way Daniel does, though he has other reasons for avoiding conflict as well. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

    Devon

Thank you so much for reading it! Devon's a sweetheart. I'm glad you like him. I wasn't originally planning on including him in the main story at all, there was just the off-hand mention in Matt's story. But I needed someone to give Dave a little push and Devon turned out to be the right man for the job. Maybe he'll feature in something else at some point... Maybe. We'll see.

It is supposed to be funny, yeah. Those parts of it, anyway. Guess I tried to balance the light and the dark in these. When writing a borderline toxic relationship I think some humour is necessary. lol! Thanks for commenting.
  19. Thank you. I'm managing. Keeping busy with some music production.
  20. Beautifully written.
  21. My choir made this quarantine video. It's a choral arrangement by Carl-Bertil Agnestig of Edvard Grieg op. 33 nr. 9, Ved Rondane. Words by A.O. Vinje. I did the sound mix for this. Kind of a challenge, given the varying quality of recordings from phones, computers, and tablets, and the slightly different timing and so on that comes from not being in the same room, even though we all sang to the same lead track made by our conductor. Still, I think it turned out all right. Another member of the choir edited the video.
  22. Thank you so much! I'm really, really happy that you've enjoyed these books. Thank you for leaving so many comments! It's the best thing about posting my work online like this, to be able to interact with my readers as they read it. So thank you for that, and for coming along for the ride. Hope you like my other stuff too, if you read it!
  23. You're very welcome! Thank you so much for reading it, and for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The plan was always for them to get back together in the end, when they were both ready.

    Patrick

I'm glad you liked it! You may be right about their relationship, that it won't last, or you may not. I've never been one for writing Happy Ever After. I'm more the Happy For Now type. And for now, Patrick and Ali are happy together, and that's all that matters. Thanks for commenting!
  25. I can't understand why that should be incomprehensible. I understood it just fine.
