Hugs for you both. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

This poem hit me hard. Raw poetry is right. Makes me think of the people I’ve lost. Loss, love... is the pain worth it for the memories? I think so, most of the time... Thank you for sharing these beautiful words with us, tim.

Hero forge is cool. My D&D group all have custom minis from there now. (Here's mine.) But I'm not sold on the pre-painted ones. But then, I guess I find it hard to separate minis from the act of painting them. The two are so very interlinked to me. And it doesn't feel worth it to pay extra for a pre-painted one when I can do it myself. Though I've no doubt it can be useful for those who don't have the time or ability to do it themselves.

Been listening to this album by Voltaire on repeat for the past couple of days. Cracks me up so much! For my fellow nerds (contains swearing). Fair warning if you go on to listen to the rest of the album: These are the least offensive songs on it. And if you're sensitive, DO NOT listen to The Trouble with Tribbles or Cantina.

Sure! PM me and we can talk about what it is you want.

Maya is such a dick. In a good way. Lol! Ronnie might have noticed how uncomfortable his fanboying made Taran, though. Kind of oblivious, isn't he? In more ways than one.

I like Mari! Wouldn't mind seeing more of her.

Chapter Four: Rob the Bank
Thorn Wilde commented on Thorn Wilde's story chapter in Chapter Four: Rob the Bank
Thank you! I really appreciate that. Thanks for giving my work a chance, and I'm really happy you're enjoying it. -
It's horrific. No other word to describe it. And millions upon millions of animals, some members of vulnerable species, are dead or at great risk. Just awful.
-
Exciting! I wonder who and what this bad thing that's coming is... Poor Maya. I hope she'll be okay. And I feel for Taran. Family expectations can be stifling. But he and Ronnie both like each other. Hopefully, Taran will find a way to get out from his father's thumb.

Ooh, California! I've been to San Diego once. Really want to go to northern California, though. One of my best friends lives there.
-
Great chapter! Yay, Ronnie knows who Taran is now! I wonder what important thing it was Taran didn't get to tell him, though. Also, happy birthday! Hope it was a good one!

I'd be willing to give it a shot. Let me know when you have something.

I'm sorry for all the pain you're feeling, and will continue to feel. It's never easy. When my ex-boyfriend broke up with me four and a half years ago, I was a wreck for months. It's okay to not be okay. But, as you see here, you're not alone. I hope that gives you some comfort.

Epilogues aren't necessarily a list of events that happen after the end of the book. They can be a scene set some time in the future that just gives you a glimpse of how the characters are doing. That's what I did with Nemesis; I showed the main characters still together three or four years later, one of them playing in a band and the other studying medicine. Just a couple of scenes. Those weren't adventure books, they were teen romance.

Well, I don't think I should have to argue that my gender or sexual orientation is valid on a supposedly queer website, but here we are, and I have had to do so in the past. So I believe my question remains valid.

Powerful World Building Tool - World Anvil
Thorn Wilde replied to Myr's topic in Speculative Fiction
I've recently started using World Anvil. I have a speculative science-fiction-ish story I'm working on, and World Anvil really helped me kick start it. I find the 'character sheets' especially useful. Since it has so many different boxes you can fill in, it prompts me to think about those things, and it's really helped me develop my characters. The timelines are also super useful. Considered paying for a subscription, but it's a little too expensive for me currently, and as long as I'm only working on this one world I have no need of it, at least not yet, as I only have about 35 articles or so as of yet. -
Maybe, maybe not. I understand from your later posts that you're considering picking it up again... I think you should be really careful in how you approach this. The way you're describing it, the 'girl' sounds deranged. Making irreversible changes to your body (and many effects of testosterone are irreversible) and taking potentially dangerous drugs without medical supervision because you want someone to love you sounds like obsession, not love. Your premise feeds a lot of harmful myths, like that trans people are confused and transition for the wrong reasons or that a trans guy is really a girl (with the straight boy falling for him thing). Making extreme changes to your body for someone else isn't romantic; it's dangerous. I'm not saying don't write it, but I am saying be really, really careful. Not because you might offend someone, but because you may write something that empowers and supports bias and discrimination against trans people, as well as other gender non-conforming people. It's not about causing offence, it's about causing harm.

The first and third Nemesis books have epilogues, while the second has a prologue (a scene that would have taken place during the first book but wasn't in it). The epilogue to book 3 is set just after the epilogue to book 1. As of right now, those are the only epilogues I have (I've written one for a story that isn't finished yet, though). I think my readers liked them? No one said they didn't, at least.

Yay! I'm sure you won't regret it. ❤️

I haven't seen the remake, but I love Let the Right One In. One of my favourite horror movies. I love atypical vampire movies.

Important Anthology Changes
Thorn Wilde commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors Archive
I seem to recall @CassieQ didn’t, but I may be mistaken. Anyway, thanks for the response, and your hard work around the anthologies. -
Let Me In... is that the American remake of Let the Right One In?
-
It was. We sang it for a competition back in 2015. Hardest part was not making ourselves cry. lol! We came in third.

As someone who’s played all the games and read a couple of the books, I think the show was pretty much perfect. Also can’t wait for the next season.
