Philoprogenitive - Word of the Day - Fri Jul 2, 2021
Ron commented on Myr's blog entry in Writing World
This word would be a good one to use in a science fiction story about a race that breads itself out of room on its home planet, uses up all of its natural resources and has to flee to the stars in order to save themselves. -
I went to the Blue Bijou in Cleveland, Ohio a few times and there was nothing elegant about the gay porno movies they showed on the big screen, or on the smaller screens in the back rooms. Although I dare say the facilities were highly prized by the attendees.

“Ha-ha, you said flapdoodle.” - Nelson

Jacob was a man of the street but what with the wiggle in his strut the neighbors all twittered behind fluttering hands that Jacob was more of a flaneuse than a flaneur.

Prodigy, you say! You either got it in abundance, only got a portion of it or you got no talent (which means you must learn it the hard way [like most of us]).

Memorial Day is a poignant reminder to those whose loved ones have died and are missed. No bonus for me but it is a nice word choice for the day!

This is not a glamorous word, but I will note that my family always said styptic pencil.

I got nothin’. 🙃

I can't add anything to the flamboyant additions already included above.

In a recent essay I attempted to convey the importance of surveying, but, I say, my essay failed to garner much enthusiasm and so I will assay my essay to achieve a better outcome.

It was a diabolical debacle Jerry found himself in, even the twists had turns and there appeared to be no way out.

I managed to cabbage some cabbage from my neighbor's garden on the sly.

@Zombie The Pepsi chaser is an acquired taste, I’m sure. 😝

Way back on November 1, 2013, I said that digital audio is the future of music. Fast forward to today and what a different world. You can get excellent quality music from more than one source nowadays. I use Tidal Audio which uses the MQA format and I can't tell the difference from a streamed source and the same thing on CD. When you stream the full Master Quality file it is much better than CD and at times even better than SACD sourced music. What a time for digital audio! Several years ago I went to a hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to listen to a Jazz band. The band leader was the brother in-law of a co-worker of my former partner. How's that for an introduction? The band leader is Rudresh Mahanthappa and the band was playing from their recently released Samdhi and one of my favorite songs is Playing With Stones. This piece is quite exciting. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did just now through the Tidal digital music service. And even though it wasn't given the full Master treatment this song sounded maybe just a bit better than CD quality. Good stuff. Edit to add: I have a signed CD.

How did you come up with your username on here?
Ron replied to Sherye Story Reader's topic in The Lounge
I was already eleven years old when you were born, and while your code name may not be anything "special" in your view, that still makes you a young whipper-snapper as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and I am Ron... so, nothing special indeed.- 47 replies

Somehow this does make everything better. Did you find a replacement for the tube socks?

I bet Chucky’s boys do feel insecure. After all they could fall out of those action pants at any moment.

I've had the first book since it came out on Kindle though the title was correct the book inside was something else entirely. After some time the mistake was rectified but by then I was on to something else. Then the series came out -- I am so impressed by it that I don't feel the need to read the books any time soon. Fortunately, this allows me to read other books in the meantime.

Kudos @Carlos Hazday for your volunteer efforts on the behalf of gay authors and the readers. Well done, I say.

"We don't do nice things for people because THEY are nice. We do them because WE are nice." - Alan in Aurora Ohio The above quote was from a reply to Ask Amy, an advice column, referring to the many questions from readers who feel their kindness is met with ungratefulness. I thought it was a good quote to bring this thread back to life after a brief hiatus.
-
I'm guessing this thread is somewhat akin to actual depression. With help depression might disappear for good, or for a time, but it all too often returns. So who cares if someone resurrects a old thread when depression is such a dangerous condition.

It depends on what kind of bush your talking about. I mean is it like a two in the wild situation, or a Double Minute gum sort of situation?
