Preposterous is a preposterous word when one considers that there is no such thing as posterous or postposterous. It's like having a horse without a carriage without a cart, you'll just end up with an absurd horse.

This is a way-better word than yesterday’s. Pronouncing that despicable word was punishment, and I’m all for pronouncing words correctly.

I wonder if @kbois meant Spanish nouns, after all nouns are the subject of the day.

I don't know if you know but it's legal in Massachusetts, getting high that is, though not so much as to the getting lost part. People tend to report that if it goes on too long.

I have a casual friendship with a man in the museum world who fell into the foppish category, only do to his hair. Of course he knew his style suited him, and it did (very well) at the age I was first introduced to him (now changed as age will do to each of us), but he himself was not foppish in the least (outside of the occasional [okay, more than occasional] movement of his head to remove said hair [dark-brown and hanging in glorious curls] from his eyes and forehead). His baking skills were crowed about by all who knew him (well deserved). It was in Toronto that I first saw The Fifth Element upon release, where he and I sat side-by-side as we watched in stunned aww the glorious spectacle that would go on to become a life-long favorite movie of mine.

When we get to subordinate clauses and predicate nominatives, comma turns into coma. And uncontrolled drooling out the corner of one's mouth... as the head lolls.

I don't know how you read any of the series working those hours.

They did make it to the Eye of the World (the dark one’s prison) but the circumstances in the last show of the series differs from the first book. It was indeed the “first battle” of the current age but not the end, in the first book or the series. One might actually call it the first foray. Amazon is playing loose and fast with this series, glossing over relatively important things in the service of their storytelling. In the books, to the best of my recollection, Rand faced two of the Foresaken and one of them (a male who is reincarnated in a female body later in the books) was killed by the Green Man (didn’t happen in the series), and the dark one remained imprisoned. So far the Foresaken have only been mentioned by way of religious symbolism as carved figurines belonging to one of the Aes Sedia warders.

This is Robbie Robertson's 2019 release Sinematic in full, though not in the correct order of the release. The music tells a story, and a difficult one for a tough guy with the dangers and the emotional rewards of affection within its constraints. This is standout music.

Massachusetts's weather gave us a dusting of snow to begin Christmas Eve day, so, I guess, winter is here. Though the snow is all gone tomorrow, what with the freezing rain predicted for the morning turning to steady rain throughout the day. I think Christmas day will be a good day to count my blessings and one of those will be all the connections I've made with the people here on GA, the other is that I don't have to go anywhere. I noticed in the address bar, PC using chrome - latest addition, that there is a computer monitor icon with a downward arrow. When I hover over it, I get: Install Gay Authors. What the heck is that? An enquiring mind wants to know.

The Wheel of Time recap from the AV Club online. This recap/review/opinion piece captures a fair amount of what I've been thinking and adds more to the mix. It's a good examination of the most recent episode. I'll watch episode seven again. But that will be after I watch the newest episode (2) of The Expanse, which promises to be just as good as the previous seasons; a show to watch if you like great Science Fiction.

I understand, Carlos. The glossary at the end of the books was at times helpful to me. Perhaps the writers and director(s?) will include some of the missing characters in a different sequence and in diverse ways as the series moves along.

I did enjoy episode seven though it's very disjointing for me. Well, everything has been. But there is so much missing and the gaps will be hard to fill for those who remember the books well. I mean things are heavily condensed. Here's The Eye of the World Wiki. This gives us a synopsis of the first book as a reminder. There are characters that I had forgotten but now remember as being important and recurring characters, as they are scattered throughout the books.

Benjamin Lazar Davis's new album In Between Lives. I've listened to this a few times and I think it's good - the whole thing.

It was odd, not only because I feel the same way, but it was on Amazon last night and I watched it, too. Even The Expanse was available to watch last night. I avoided watching that right away; I'm not eager to begin the end of a great series.

I just preordered the movie in steelbook case with all the bells and whistles from Best Buy. I had a 10% off coupon that was expiring soon, and I was going to buy the movie anyway. I've watched the movie more than once, as I've said, but the picture and the sound quality on disc is always better than that of streaming. The last time I watched Dune on HBO Max the film quality glitched off and on all the way through, so annoying.
