Cal and Ben are getting there, as we'll see soon. Denny is a question--I'm not sure how much damage he's had done to him, so the cure is up in the air--it'll happen, just have to see what inspiration hits Greg. The letters are coming in 36.

An amazingly fun chapter, Com! Ariel and Tyler are my favorite characters in this story cycle...I can identify with Ariel's shyness and backwardness since I was like that as a teen, and even in college. However much I might dream, I missed several chances because I couldn't make the first move. It's bad enough if you're a small guy, but worse when you're tall and ought to be assertive, but that wasn't my mental plan of action. I could be more direct in a letter, or on the phone, but meeting in person drove me into a little shell, and that cost me several potential relationships. Ariel is lucky that Tyler is so interested in him, that he was waiting for him to be ready...I can see them together for a long time to come. More please!

Poor Ian, now he's waking up his best friend to join him in a restless night. I'm glad Shawn had the patience to listen, then tell him what his situation really was, and how to keep it from turning into a repeat of Markey. It's sound advice...I hope Ian can make it part of himself. More please my friend!

Nice chapter Dodger, but I'm really disappointed in Robbie, and more so in Don's statements about Nathan. Any hope of Robbie coming out just disappeared. I get the plot now: Robbie will date Fran, pretend to be straight which will lead to a lot of soul-searching by Robbie, or he'll let Nicola fix him up with someone. He'll hide while in Canada, and be miserable. Maybe he'll get a few kicks with Nathan, but I don't see him taking the risk. I wish he was back with Tom, and I don't see why he hasn't used Daniel's skype account to talk to him yet. Gotta say, that the only people in his new family I like are Amy and maybe Daniel. Sue is too intrusive and Robbie can't open up to her now that he knows Don's attitude. I hope he might talk to Daniel about his real feelings, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that.... More please!

Thanks AC--Dr. Newton has things well in hand, I think. I prefer showing eroticism as part of a loving relationship over the 'raw sex' option seen in other sites...that's why most porn doesn't work for me--I'm into the build-up via fore-play with the final sex act as a denouement rather than the main course. Greg is not going to risk his dream by rushing things with Denny...not after wanting a bf for so long. He may get impatient, but he'll never break Den's trust.

Thanks, Pal...I'm glad it all worked for you. I think Denny has found the person to ease im out of his past into a more pleasant future. Our boys all seem to be pretty lucky in their choice of boyfriends.

Week Three Sunday September 21, 2014: Dancing Around
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Three Sunday September 21, 2014: Dancing Around
Nice chapter, SD, especially the way Twoey did analysis on what he can do in his new situation. He's pretty clear on what is going on around him, but needs to figure out what he wants for himself. That isn't easy when he has so many distractions--the fact that he can't see any of them as boyfriend material is encouraging, so I have hope he will come out all right. Clear thinking needs to apply to Danny and David both--more information is required. As for David himself, he was so close to figuring out that there was a plot, but once again missed things entirely. I've gone on and on about his lack of will-power, so I'm just going to say 'told you so', and go gloat in a corner as the train wreck comes ever closer. More please, my friend! -
Thank you, Don, for a great chapter. I've been anxiously awaiting more news of our friends, and I'm glad they had a great holiday. I'm also happy that Cam won't have to testify and that he can finally begin to put his ordeal behind him. I can't wait for Father Mason to move to Malibu, and for Andy to get to be with Carl at last. I loved it when Maria put Mr. Petrie in his place. More please!

Chapter 44 The Waiting Game
ColumbusGuy commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 44 The Waiting Game
Oh Gary, you are the god of teen romance as well as writing? I don't care what Mark does, I wouldn't want to trust him yet...Nate needs time to rebuild himself, and he can only do that in Ontario with grams and gramps, or M and K. No matter what his parents do, it is not going to be stress-free for a long while, and then there's the old school and rejection. Nate NEEDS to be in Uxbridge, or preferably Markham right now...maybe in the summer he can try being back in Edmonton with his parents, but it isn't healthy for his mental outlook right now. Also, it's an extra pair of hands for the baby, and there can never be enough of those. More please, my dear friend! xoxo -
Chapter 9 The Long Goodbye
ColumbusGuy commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 9 The Long Goodbye
A wonderful chapter Dodger, and the shed scene was really funny! I presume we'll get Tom's adventures in future chats between them, but I have no clue what he will go through: is his 'gayness' just for Robbie, or will it develop with someone else? Nearly three years until Robbie comes back--if he still does--is a long time. Right now, it seems Tom is committed to Robbie, I just hope it lasts. I agree with SD about his review, but it isn't all on Tom's side whether they remain faithful...Robbie is so concerned about seeming straight that I can see him getting a girlfriend--but whether there is sex is unclear. I really hope he doesn't, and somehow lets Don and Sue know how he really feels--I don't think they'd have a problem with it. I'll even wager that they aren't blind to what Robbie is really like, but are waiting for him to bring the subject up. It's tearing me up wondering what is down the road for our two parted lovers...please make it work out in the long run! More please! -
Don't worry Cannd, there's plenty of story to come, and the description was right--we'll see the meeting, scenes from their early years, as well as the current and future for the projects they are working on. I tend to start 'in media res', where you have to picture earlier events, then you can find out how they actually went when the writer tells you.

A great chapter, Elias, which makes the reader think hard about choices they make, not just in sex, but in life itself. Despite the great presentation, I have to say that I'm disappointed in our characters' decisions in this one. Colt is being pretty cavalier with Zoe's status as a virgin, seeing his as the only important one; Matt is hung up on his rep--nothing new there--and yet is still going to do the foursome despite his doubts; as for Andy, that is my greatest disappointment of all--despite very good questions from Dr. Walker, he's going to risk everything he's ever wanted with Matt for meaningless sex with relative strangers. He's forgotten that there is a difference between the love which Matt says will always bind them, and the love which draws two people together into a permanent relationship. At the moment, I don't see anything good coming out of these choices...I only hope it won't go as badly as I fear. More please!

A little rocky start, but they've organized a solution Reece can live with...and I think he's right to ignore his mom's calls for the day. This is about him and Dave, not Reece's homophobic controlling parents. I hope Jeff keeps Reece informed about his father, since Reece had a good relationship with him. We all know it's only downhill for him, but it would be nice to know. My own stepfather had it, and didn't eve nrecognize his family members the last time I saw him. Thank god it doesn't run in my family--I'd rather end it than go out like that. I love the cousins coming to help, but Alice has to realize she's a little too free with sharing Reece's news with her mom. He doesn't need the drama right now. More please!

Week Three Saturday September 20, 2014: Matty's Room
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Three Saturday September 20, 2014: Matty's Room
A hot chapter, SD! Twoey and Matt were a lot of fun, and I hope Erik did use a condom...and I can't believe how much Matt told him about his past. We now have the added complication for Twoey that Matt believes David to be gay but in denial. I knew David wouldn't say anything, and now he's made it worse...looks like he's got a girlfriend now, and he's stuck with her. Serves him right for not having a pair. If he's so bright, he ought to have major clues now that Gary and Nels set him up...the Newsletters hinted as much. So, bring on Twoey--I'm done with David until he gets some gumption. More please, my friend! -
Hard to top what mikie said, this is wonderful. Love is easy during bright sunshine when the world is full of life and color, and provides lots of distraction, but the test comes in the night, when all is stripped away but for the two lovers bathed in silvery caresses, and all that remains is truth and our spirits. That is the ultimate test of love, where strength can build up for the new dawn.

I'm not sure how long parakeets live, the green one, and the blue one we had when I was little I think lasted about ten years. Longer than the chameleons, at least. Ours had a big corner cage and would come out once in a while, though the loved to sit on the top of the curtains. Ian should pick out the cat if he wants one that won't 'ignore' him...and he should be the feeder too. The bond starts at the purchase point though, so he should be the one to pick it out...the only one I bought from a shop wasn't the one who came up to the front of the cage first...she sat toward the back until I reached for her, and the rest was history. Friendly to a lot of people, but she was my cat without a doubt, riding around on my shoulders whenever she could. Elspeth was great. More please!

Chapter 54 - "On My Side"
ColumbusGuy commented on Comicality's story chapter in Chapter 54 - "On My Side"
A great chapter, glad to see more of the story! I can't wait to see Sean get put in his place, either by one of the R's or Cody. Any news of the other stories with Ariel and Tyler or Matt and Sam? -
Week Three Friday September 19, 2014: Apology
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Three Friday September 19, 2014: Apology
A groovy addition, SD! I was glad that David got to make amends with Biggy, and that he did it on-the-spot rather than via his prepared speech, which could have come off as contrived and insincere. One thought just occurred to me, if Twoey knows that David isn't really interested in Kathy, why doesn't he try to help him out by telling her that she could be reading too much into things? He has nothing to lose by doing that since she isn't part of the gang, and he isn't interested in her either. Twoey is fifteen, with a chance to experience real sex--who is going to turn that down when the guy he really liked appears to be straight and unavailable? Bubby is tilting at straws here I think. We suspect Twoey has given up on David, but who can say whether that is true? It is also more complicated by the fact that Twoey isn't ready to come out at this new school yet, which is perfectly understandable given what happened in Syracuse. I hope that David will at least say something Saturday to get Kathy onto a different track, but I won't hold my breath. If he does anything which can be remotely contrived into a making-out scene, then I'm done with any thought of sympathy for him. More please, my friend!! The fireworks fuse is now lit.... -
Thanks drpaladin. The Earth is warming, but whether that is a natural cycle--it's been warmer in the past--or we have a part in it isn't the main point. The relentless growth of population is the tipping point. I''m glad you like the other bits, and I'll try to keep each chapter interesting. There is a clue in the text concerning the robot...they can do things people couldn't.

My first love was S-F, and is still my favorite read, but the best authors are gone now, so it gets tougher to find. I've had to branch out to Modessitt. Some details entered my head as I sat down to write this morning...the GA bit was new, though there was always going to be a repressive authority group, it just clicked with the concept. Gay Neanderthals--who knows? Their breeding rate and numbers were always low, so maybe there was a social reason for that...and if 10% of humans are gay, and it occurs in other species as well, then why not!
-
Thanks Gary, my shot-gun effect tries to cover all the bases. I've been a fan of Neanderthals since I first heard about them--the old view was current then, dim-witted and physically unfit...that just couldn't be right for a species which lasted for a quarter-million years. Time to revisit some old theories. Mars is going to be interesting.

Prologue: Dreams Crashing Down
ColumbusGuy commented on ColumbusGuy's story chapter in Prologue: Dreams Crashing Down
Thanks Gary. I'm going to do my best to keep this one to something near prompt-length chapters. Hopefully I can keep it interesting that way...I think the Neanderthals will help with that. -
Thanks Def! I'm glad this one seems to be liked already...it worried me. This ought to be easier to write since it's a familiar genre to me, and it isn't so full of biograohical details as JM. And I'll try not to put up 10k chapters.

Tak, Tim...though I can't say what sort of future Denmark will have if the sea rises as much as they predict. Maybe you'll inherit Holland as a swimming pool? Never fear, you know I can't NOT tell a story, we'll see E and J in the next bit...OMG, it just hit me, I stole names from your CC without realizing it! Sorry!

Fear not, Tim...that's brought up in the first chapter. I hope you enjoy it.
