A great chapter Elias, though I did skim through Colt's encounter with Zoe. Looks like we're all set for the foursome, now we just have to see what the repercussions are going to be--you know there are going to be some. I don't know why, but as I read the start of this, I thought that the fact our two heroes are writing this together, might mean they got together as a couple at last...but that doesn't have to be the case--it could be as friends, or even an exercise like a psychiatrist might use to clear past memories. Andy and Matt could be doing this exercise as just acquaintances now sharing the same doctor, but no longer friends at all. More please, so we can figure this out!

Great chapter, Wolf--Michael is even more twisted than I suspected, and if he is let off, things are only going to get worse. The others except Chris might eventually be redeemed, but Chris needs to share the same fate as Michael. I don't see exile as being a workable solution, so I have to side with the 'put down' crowd. An attack by ferals--is this coincidence or somehow part of a plot? More please!

Thanks SD! More to come when the movie starts. I don't see Mikey like Brad either, but then it could be the clothes and glasses with the dark hair--close enough maybe for a fan. For me, Mikey has a bit longer hair and is a bit taller...and better muscles. The big question is--how badly is Jay going to tease him about this once they see the movie? I think Dave and Trebor will show the guys mostly that it's okay to be gay, and that they can be a couple...and maybe how to avoid some of the pitfalls in the gay subculture.
-
I think the truck is going to be a big influence for them, the first steps are already happening, but this will insure it. Jerry, remember, had no questions when his dad talked about sex, and we thought he wasn't interested--what if he knew where he stood already, and knew a small town wasn't where he'd find someone? Did he try? Zane made the queer slur about Jerry...was there any substance to that rumor? Of course it was his sister who mentioned it, and that whole family could be nuts like he is. Now I have to watch RHPS to see how I felt at the time....

Thanks Tim. The store was much as I remember it--one huge room with wood floors and a high tin ceiling. It always smelled of metal and polish. Get me in a used book store with some boxes at the bottom of the shelves, and I'm busy for hours. You have to rent the movie--it's not like anything you've ever seen! I saw it when it came out on video around 1979 on a recommendation from a friend. Wow! Seeing it live would be crazy with all the porps used by fans and the shouting and costumes. The theater mentioned here is now closed, but it plays at another one up the street from me once a month.

As you recall, I toyed with this aspect of Jerry ages ago, but it was too soon and could be a distraction, so here it is indirectly. Is he gay or bi? Who knows except Jerry. Dave was tricky, since I don't know him well yet, I hope he and Treb came across as nice mellow guys who can be real friends to our heroes. Want to lay odds the boys are going to come out of Rocky Horror in a catatonic state?
-
You're very welcome Parker. I'm glad I could brighten your day even a little...and thanks for accepting the new POV--Dave and Treb will be only occasional characters, but I thought the last half would be better from their perspective.

POV: Jay, Dave While Mikey hunted for the sander in the other garage, I checked where I’d slipped the letters into the bag I’d packed for him to use this weekend, when he was rinsing out my Pepsi glass. He had a brown bag, sort of like one a doctor would use, but it was made to look like tooled leather, and closed with a zipper rather than a strap or clasp. Along with the letters he’d need to claim his reward on Sunday, I’d tossed in a couple pair of socks, his purple briefs, and a cou

Week Seven Tuesday, October 14, 2014: Confidence
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seven Tuesday, October 14, 2014: Confidence
A grim outlook for Twoey ahead since David is turning back into a dick. Back to not seeing things around him which might indicate someone can be gay...back to using Kathy, who isn't the girl he ought to be with--if he feels it has to be one, he knows Lanni is the one. So, David will se the psychologist at last...not that it will help since he won't tell him anything that is really wrong. He'll whine about his mother and father, Pastor Dickhead, and Burch...and complain about not being in control of his life. Of course he isn't, because he's letting everyone else dictate his actions! And that bad news girl Kathy is the worst, followed by Gary and Nel. For the moment, then, I'm done with David and in it for Twoey and Sam...the rest aren't worth bothering about except perhaps Matty and Erik. Maybe Dr. Keating seems like an advance, but David has ignored or blown off every other chance to face himself, so why should this be different? Next one please! -
Wolf, I ask for something, and get it in spades. Good thing my heart's sound because it was racing to beat sixty. Since Irish already said it, Ethan being an Elemental was my guess...but I couldn't see how that was possible, since they aren't animals--if it's combined with the wolf form, then Aiden has got himself one seriously powerful mate! I like the idea of Aiden challenging Michael...if the Alpha exiles him, that wont stop him from causing trouble, as unbalanced as he obviously is. It will lead to a challenge in the end either way, and it's best if it happen now. A tiny bit confusing was having the Alpha interviewing the first guy, who you called alternately Collin or Connor...other than that, amazing job! More please!!

A great chapter, again my Promising Friend. Of course, once Agnes answered the phone, we knew Kendall was doomed...her arguments were too logical and practical to be refuted...and she knew exactly which buttons to push to get him to see things her way. Finally, they are fully equal partners, sealing their bond with the last step to bliss. Now, where are those ribs--I'm starving!

Chapter 22 The Guessing Game
ColumbusGuy commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 22 The Guessing Game
The guessing game was fun, but I was surprised it wasn't Rory who is Boy X. I really like him, so now we will see if Alex stacks up favorably against him. I don't really like Robbie much right now, but maybe he can be the closet case who gets sex from another closet case, and yet play the straight guy with a girl who he cares little for. Such a fall from someone who was fairly happy and confident before and is now just a hypocrite. There is ZERO evidence that gays are picked on at the new school--Nathan is proof of that--and yet Robbie is denying his nature even to himself? Don may be a homophobic dick, but he should try talking to Sue. At least I didn't have to skim through endless Fran-scenes and he only agonised a little bit. I'm still here, but I'm saving my likes for when Robbie becomes the honest person he was meant to be. -
GRRR!! So close, Wolf, and yet so far. Ethan can turn water to ice when he's confronting someone, and excite it into condensation when he's aroused...James knows what the creature could be, as does the Alpha...and yet, they decide it's not the time to tell Ethan or Aiden? You are such a tease! As for Michael, the kid's becoming completely unhinged! He thinks he can challenge his father and the elders and become Alpha in his own right? Ha! Some of his other friends doubt him, so I only hope they don't follow him into foolish and reckless action. Wise up like Tyler has already done! I'm thinking my speculation about Ethan's nature is becoming more likely, but I can't see how it would work with Aiden. Dang, hurry up with the next chapter.

Week Seven Monday, October 13, 2014: Aftermath
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Seven Monday, October 13, 2014: Aftermath
Oh, SD--I knew this was going to be bad! I feel so sorry for Twoey...I hope his mom can hold the pieces together when he needs her to do it for him. As for David, a small step forward, a giant leap back...his head is so messed up it will take years to even make a dent, so he'll kill the love he and Twoey could have had. Very disappointing times ahead, the good guy is going to lose again, just like he did in Syracuse. -
This is a wonderfully sweet chapter, Tim...poor Nelson, trapped in new jeans. Just an idea, but boxer-briefs or regular ones help avoid those moments--more support than boxers, which are far too loose for my taste--I never wore them, figuring they were 'old people' underwear. For the life of me, I can't figure out why kids today like them. Eager for the next one! I hope Rob doesn't get too much grief from the guys on the team.

I was very pleased with the way Aiden introduced Ethan to the ranch owners, and it is making Ethan more aware of the scope of shifter society. It also shows him that a gay coupling will work just as well as a straight one...another thing which I think Ethan needed reassurance about. I've been trying to think of animals with blue eyes beyond the dogs and cats I've had--some breeds of horses, white tigers I think...but now you toss in the water effects? For a second, I thought maybe some type of aquatic animal, but that would be very inconvenient for Aiden. Water droplets instead of steam, lets out almost any tupe of animal I can think of...are there blue-eyed birds? There is one more possibility I can think of, but it's not animal-related, so I guess it's out. I think the dragon reference is a red herring, they are just creatures Ethan is fond of reading about...aren't they? Darn you, Wolf...you're making it very hard to narrow down what Ethan could be!
-
Sweet and charming characters you've created here, SD. Connecting and coping with their frailties, and winning through in the end. I do hope we hear from them again from time to time, even if it's just for a cup of tea in the afternoon.

A chapter full of portent, Wolf! I know what Ethan is doing, but there are times when you have to say 'Enough'. There are some people who won't like him no matter what he does, so let them suffer the consequences of their actions. Of course, if he gives these idiots enough rope, the rest of the pack will see how imcompetent Michael is, along with his chicken-allies. Alpha status is not hereditary, so I think in time, Aiden will make an amazing leader, and Michael will either have to accept him or be exiled. Something tells me that Ethan is more than a human, but no one has put it together yet, despite the medical tests. The glowing eyes occur in times of stress or anger with most wolves it seems, and they are amber or orange--but is that dependent on eye color or species? If it's species, then Ethan might not be a wolf when/if he turns...or maybe he will be some hybrid wolf that will be a complement to Aiden's? More please!!

Week Six Sunday, October 12, 2014: The Visit
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Six Sunday, October 12, 2014: The Visit
I love this chapter, SD, but it's going to be so bad unless David can accept how he feels for Twoey, whether that makes him gay or just interested in him. Telling Ginny how he feels may help her with Twoey's reactions; I hope David comes around. Okay, so why can't David's dad find his other testicle and tell his wife to leave David alone? I'd rather toss such a woman out the door than submit to her narrow-minded attitudes--especially when they are affecting one of the children. I'd be tempted to think a lot of the situation with 'mom' was in David's head, but Tommy sees it as well. Looking forward to the next one, albeit with some trepidation. -
Chapter 19 Two Boys, Different Cultures, Same Goals
ColumbusGuy commented on Tallguyct's story chapter in Chapter 19 Two Boys, Different Cultures, Same Goals
Another evocative chapter of small town life, with the added hint of danger due to Southern segregation. Henry had better enjoy himself while he can, because once Peter leaves he will have a difficult time finding another boy to experiment with...it was hard enough then for white boys, but even more so for blacks. You've finally caught up with my life! I was born in early March of 1958, so am just a few months old here. Spent my first two months in the hospital since I was premature and was in an incubator. I was in the papers as not having a 50-50 chance to live, and was in again with pictures when I had my first birthday. More please! -
Chapter 18 Spring Summer 1958
ColumbusGuy commented on Tallguyct's story chapter in Chapter 18 Spring Summer 1958
Another great chapter, Tall! The section in Daisyville must be interesting to younger readers who never encountered segregation...but you handled it very well. My mother's family was from the hills of eastern Kentucky, and we'd visit them during summers--my first encounter with an outhouse!--and while that was different from my Ohio home town, it wasn't as bad as when we would visit my oldest sister who lived on the Georgia/Alabama border (Lake Eufaula). She had gone to Marine Camp at Parris Island and married a southern guy and stayed down there ever since. I was around 10 when we went to her graduation, and I noticed the difference in the way people acted; segregation was officially over in '68, but it was still evident in how a lot of people acted. Nicely done, and I'm eager for more! -
Chapter 17 Summer of 1957
ColumbusGuy commented on Tallguyct's story chapter in Chapter 17 Summer of 1957
This was a wonderful chapter Tall...Paul and Rachel are so refreshing in their willingness to express their love physically and without shame. They will make great parents when the time comes. Peter is so lucky to have had a chance to connect with his uncle...he took the chance to reveal himself, and was rewarded with another source of support for him and Tom. Now we just have to speculate about whether Will and Jacob might have a tryst or two while paintings get produced. More please! -
I just get more pulled in with each chapter, Wolf. I don't think Michael has any disease beyond being an asshole who thinks too much of himself and his abilities--he lacks the qualities needed in an Alpha despite his heritage. I sincerely hope Ethan isn't immune to being turned...that will be very hard on him and Aiden. Perhaps Ethan isn't turned by the bite because he is some sort of latent shifter? It was delayed by his circumstances, or some other process, maybe chemical or hormonal? It would be awesome if he was a wolf--but perhaps the problem is he is a different type already, and the doctor doesn't know what to make of it? More please, and soon!

Week Six Saturday, October 11, 2014: Out of ICU
ColumbusGuy commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Six Saturday, October 11, 2014: Out of ICU
Parker and Def hit it on the head, so not much I can add to that. I really hope David's parents don't send him to some sort of 'camp' to be cured...but it's exactly what I can see Tommy's mom doing. Looks like she's lining up witnesses in Burch and Pastor Dick to make it happen Is OCD the reason David denies his true fellings? I hadn't thought of that, though I knew he was obsessed with controlling his life...I had put the denial down to normal teen reaction. Hmm, interesting thought. Actually, I'm NOT looking forward to the meeting Sunday...David is so resolved to lie and cover up that I'm fairly sure Twoey will sense it, and that will set him back emotionally. Twoey is already fragile with his mother's refusal to allow any information about what happened to reac hhim, if David does as planned, it could get very bad. I think seeing David will bring that connection back for him, but then it will be dashed when he acts like a complete jerk. More please! -
Fragment Three: Insecurity
ColumbusGuy commented on ColumbusGuy's story chapter in Fragment Three: Insecurity
Thanks G-Man. The triads gave me some problems, why would they be necessary? I needed something to explain why the originals had such a low number of population compared to us, then figured maybe Ernst did some tinkering to them just as he did with his nanos and the 'gay' gene. If that's the case, he's covered it up and done some social tinkering as well, but that was more open, likely planning with the first generation. Some species come into season only once a year, could that have been true of the Neanderthals--has anybody researched it? Things are moving along, but we still have to look at our heroes past as well.
