    When people are having issues, they often feel alone. In fact, Jake's drinking was so bad, his world had shrank and now it's beginning to open up again. Your observations are spot-on. Thanks for the wonderful comments.

    Health issues, mental and physical, are the second biggest reason couples part. The first biggest reason is money. So, the fact Eddie was Jake's go-to guy is telling. Thanks for your story. These memories really inform understandings of events.

    You are right on all accounts. Panic attacks can build and they can even become a health issue. In Jake's case, he's worried about his sobriety and a little about his sanity. Yeah, there are friends and they will come into play along with more family. Thanks for the awesome comments.

    Jake has a circle of friends. Many times after a breakup, the friends gravitate towards one of the couple, especially when one of them is a bit of a mess. Jake has a support system, however, he hasn't been using it lately. That will become even more apparent. Thanks for some thoughtful remarks and insights.

    Thanks for the review. I thought Sully was rather classic in his vampire-ness, very Bram Stoker, and not Twilight at all. I do like the idea of a vampire drinking in the emotions of the victim along with the blood. I believe such supernatural creatures would feast on the feelings along with the sustenance. I like the idea of a vampire sensing the mood and even reading the past in his victims from afar. I love Lestat as well. I appreciate the comment. Thanks!!!!

    Good morning, and thanks for the review. The last things we are feeling are doom and gloom. We randomly picked a prompt about a vampire, which given the nature of the creature is rather ominous. So, that's the way I went with it. I'm on team Nosferatu!!! Hahaha!!! I appreciate the concern, but last night I baked cookies, we played Scrabble, and watched another lovely Eighties movie. We are mostly laughing and giggling!! One more to come.

    Thanks for the review. I'm not sure I see melancholy in the story. I certainly don't need a boost. I'm having a blast!!! Perhaps the nature of the prompt is a bit negative, however, I believe vampires don't usually part ways with servants in a congenial way. I wanted this vampire to be as ferocious as Nosferatu, and that's the image I had in my head. Don't fear!!! I'm not in a sad place at all. More fun today with our final antics!!!

    Thank you so much. I think I did pretty well. There is a melancholy which seeps into the basement of our minds and lies in wait for when we 'go there.'     Thank you for sharing. Perhaps some of my instinct in this prompt was from a residual fear or an understanding extended family and immediate family are relationships that need nurturing to remain connected. My parents are alive and my grandma is still kicking at 98 years old, but there is always that wonder. My niece and nephews are older and less likely to attend events. Phillip may have been my subconscious worry. Your references are interesting, because they certainly tell a tale of their own. After writing it, Valkyrie and I both considered what was happening next after Phillip walked across the imaginary line. What interaction would Phillip have with his neighbors? We will see if that comes to fruition.

    I agree, wholeheartedly. However, reading all you people's comments has opened up some ideas about today's upcoming prompt session with Valkyrie.     I'm going to pose a couple of question in reference to your comment. I agree with your sentiment, of course, but consider this. What if you're married to someone of the opposite sex and your desire for another of the same sex creeps up on you? Perhaps it wasn't something you felt strongly, but it comes upon you like a thief in the night, stealing your heart? What do you do? Your comment has engaged my mind in another contemplation today.     So true. We have been discussing the nature of love and so perhaps that's what came through. Or else, Randy and I have been binge watching Weeds and the ideas came through from that.
