  1. I'm glad you're enjoying it!! There is a lot for Twyla to handle. She's pretty strong though. You're right. The bucket is something to consider, though other things are soon to be introduced. Thanks so much for the kind words!!!
  2. You have some very good ideas about how to approach such a tableau. I have worked with situations like this, and they check everything carefully. Jake didn't know what the bucket was doing there, and he was sober for the last days of his life. We don't know much yet. Here are the beginnings of the story, but you are following it really well. Thanks for the comments!!!
  3. Twyla is having a difficult time. You'll get to know her better as the story continues. She's already been through her husband's illness once before and a few other things including her brother and mother. I think you'll like her. You'll be fine with clues. I'll be fair. Thanks for the lovely comments!!!
  4. Oops!!! Fixed it. The word shouldn't be below, but above. Thanks for pointing that out. It is a lot for Twyla to deal with. She will be shouldering a great deal of burdens going forward. Thanks for the comment and the correction. Greatly appreciated!
  5. Those are very good questions, which we will find out more about in the coming chapters. Why was the bucket there? Was the heater damaged? What is going on with Nats and Jake? Keep in mind, the blog posts are from Jake's perspective. Really great observations. Thanks!!!
  6. I know you are reading things very carefully. That's great. You will have all the tools at your disposal with this story as it unfold. Jake definitely didn't kill himself, and the blog confirms that. The reader is in a much better place than the other people in the story. We know what Jake was thinking before he died. Lots more of Rush, Ben and Clay to come. Thanks for the great comments. I appreciate your ideas!

    Boogeyman

I think Tommy wasn't sure about what Chris wanted. Keep in mind, gay men are rather rare in the real world, and not all of us get along. Certainly, we don't all fall in love as easily as it would seem. Tommy was as scared as I always was. He needed a little push. Thanks for the interesting comments.

I'm so glad you like 1550 Loring Lane. I'm going to be adding more stories to it now. I like using the venue quite a bit, and I always love stories with a twist. Thanks so much!!

I did get the names twisted around, but it's fixed now. Thanks for the comment the the correction. I appreciate the help.

Were they related? Maybe this was a kind of character relationship! Hahaha! Thanks for the memory.

Is that where my subconscious pulled the name? I love that movie, but I was thinking Mary Magdalene at first. However, I may have been channeling a couple of things at the same time. Thanks for the insights. I appreciate it.

I know. It's interesting how differently you can take the same ideas and express such different ideas and characters. This month should be quite fun too!!!

That would have been another route to go. I took liberties with the prompts and wanted to see Tommy figure out what he needed. I think Chris knew, but he was so busy hiding he couldn't admit what he wanted. Thanks for the delightful comment!
  14. Discovery – Chapter 3 Laura Hardinger hurried to the conference room. She had the most recent discovery responses from the company they were suing, and in an accordion folder, the formally produced documents they’d demanded. These were the smoking guns, providing the key evidence. To Laura, it seemed their side had exactly what they needed. Sure enough, there were some carbon monoxide sensors which didn’t respond as they should’ve. This company had cheapened out on the technolog

Im glad the surprise worked. There is a special relationship between brothers which isn’t like other ones. There are dynamics that aren’t obvious. Shared history, past issues, and lots of different emotions are involved. Thanks!
  16. Boogeyman @SupermanROFL “Telling a gay person to ‘just come out’ is like telling a caterpillar to fly away. They're not ready...leave them be.” I was looking through the kitchen towels piled high in a cardboard box when I saw him. I tried to keep my peeks at him secret, stealing glimpses of his sandy brown hair, thick and cut short. His face was all chin and cheekbones, masculine and square. His skin was a golden tan, softly gleaming as he looked over some men’s shirts h

    Fool's Gold

Thanks Ron!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun writing it and thinking about all the elements necessary to the genre. It's always good to stretch your literary muscles a bit. I appreciate the review. Yeah!!!

    Fool's Gold

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I like HEA stories as well, but my heart usually goes for the mystery or the darker types of stories. This is my hat-tip to the film noir genre, so I'm thrilled it worked for you. Thanks for the lovely compliments and review. It's very appreciated!!!

    Fool's Gold

I'm glad I could give you a story that's a little different. Ray is the kind of character you have to appreciate, not necessarily like. Ray is a survivor, which is an admirable trait, unless you end up dead because of it. Yeah, it's somewhat choppy, but I'm glad you were able to navigate it in the end. Thanks for the wonderful review.

    Fool's Gold

Thanks LadyDe!!! I'm glad it worked for you. Your description was exactly what I was going for. Don't try screwing with Ray because it will not turn out well for you. Awesome!! Thanks so much for the wonderful review.

    Fool's Gold

Awesome!!! Gripping is definitely what I was going for. I love this kind of story. I had to try one, and I'm glad it worked for you. Yeah!!!!! Thanks so much.

    Fool's Gold

I'm afraid the genre leans toward confusing, especially given the kinds of secrets Ray is keeping. I didn't mean to give you a headache, but then when I watch those old film noir movies, I feel the same way. In the end, I'm glad I delivered. I always am pleased with the final credits rolling, and I'm gratified I did the same for you. Thanks!!!!

    Fool's Gold

Thanks for the review. I'm glad the twist worked for you. It is heartening when you try to delight, and it works. I appreciate the lovely review!!

    Fool's Gold

Thanks so much Al!!! I had fun with this one. I can't believe I missed all these comments. Ray is interesting because he's a survivor and will survive in spite of what faces him. I'm glad the visual tie-ins worked, because that's exactly why I gave him that cover. Ray as an interior designer is the perfect fool's gold. He appears to be lovely, fabulous, and worth a great deal, yet he's actually unrefined iron. I appreciate the insightful review!!!
