Ga's Newest Signature Author, Graeme!
Sammy Blue commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors Archive
Awesome! Congratulations Graeme! --- I've read all of Graeme's work and not only is all of it great writing, some stories and story ideas made it to my personal list of favorites (and I read TONS of stuff). There is a lot of great work he wrote. Street Life left me crying. It is such a sad, devestating, yet also beautiful, hopeful story. And one that reminds us that we (at least many, if not all, of us) have it so much better nowadays. The Price of Friendship has one of the probably most unusual (for gay fiction) plots, but also one of the most interesting ones and together with New Brother it had a notable influence on my own work (even if my writing is probably not comparable to Graeme's ^^). Oh, and not to forget: My Roomate's Gay - a very short must read for every avid reader of gay fiction! It's hilarious, it's totally true and it's what got me to read all of Graeme's other work in the first place! I could go on and an, about the two sons who want to get their gay dad to date again and about the mystical tree of love etc., but I think you get my point. Keep it up, Graeme! -
I'm really starting to like Ty, a lot! I think it's great how you had me dislike him at the start and now I'm happy everytime he appears in the scenes. I assume that when one of the players comes out as gay, he will be the first to step up and remind the team of what being in a team is all about. You really got me confused at the end about Charlie. Maybe I have to go back and reread? Otherwise I will maybe figure it out in the future... either way, great writing! :3

We will see.. maybe the weekend provides them with the necessary closeness? ;3

Thanks! Things are bound to change in one way or another, or I wouldn't be writing about it. I'm looking forward to hearing how you like the development! :3

Well deserved! Congratulations! Your writing is absolutely amazing! :3 -
Interesting! I like how things are going with Ty as well as Jarrod. The whole calling Jim dad thing is cute. :3 I hope Deon will come around... and Charlie, too. I suppose Charlie will be the easier one, though. :3 Keep it up! :3

Soo I kind of didn't expect this so quickly... I'd have thought that he just gets Wade home and that is the first step in getting Will and Wade to talk about Matt again and maybe Will slowly changing his mind... oh well, works this way,, too. Also, I wonder if what Matt did at the end was such a good idea... I hope it doesn't mean more drama the next day x.x Well, I guess it's one of those things where you know you'll get hurt but you do it anyway... Even if there is no drama, it will still make things more difficult for Matt, emotionally... (or so I think...) Great chapter! And a great way of Will to get his point across... So typically him... quite the direct approach...

Hey cut the boy some slack It's only been a few days and he's got good reasons to be worried :3Thanks for reading, liking and reviewing! :3

I didn't mention the reasons for the move (or was it business related?) I don't know... I need to go over the whole story and edit a lot of things... I'm not sure they moved to Albany just to hire Philip, though. ;DVery interesting theories, though! :3

How to deal with a young teenager and pornography?
Sammy Blue replied to Graeme's topic in The Lounge
:worship: I wish more parents would understand this. It took my parents a long time to graps this concept! (I finally managed to raise my parents though, instead of them raising me. I did well =) ) -
How to deal with a young teenager and pornography?
Sammy Blue replied to Graeme's topic in The Lounge
Hey It is a difficult issue and while my first reaction would be "parents should totally stay out of what their kids do on the internet", I am starting to reach an age where I don't see things like that anymore. ;3 I agree that the word addiction is probably a little strong. However, the way you described how things went, I also agree that it was right to block the page, yet let him know that it was okay and all.. I suppose when he's curious enough he will find something else... (or figure out a way around the block ) You asked around what age you should unblock it... I would say play it by ear. Without knowing your son, nobody can make a judgement like that. I remember in 9th grade, we still had someone who was in his early stages of puberty and didn't even know about lube or what you would need a huge box of kleenex for, while others were (very) sexually active(and not just alone I mean). Allow it when you feel he is old enough to understand it and all. I disagree with a few things Krista said. (Pretty much) every guy I know watches porn. When I was around 15+, I was very open with my friends and everyone did back then, too. I have never met such a case of this dangerous addiction that so many people talk about. It's way over the top and dramatized. If you turn out to be like that, it does not have to do with porn, it has to do with other underlaying problems. If the person wouldn't have porn, they would flee into online games, or drugs, or alcohol, and drown their problems with these things. I do agree though that the internet is a dangerous place, but I don't think the reply to that is banning everything (because you can only do that for so long and after that your kids are on their own feet without someone looking out for them). Yes, there are creeps out there, but you can find them everywhere, not only on those sites you block. I believe it is more important that you have an idea what your kids are doing (not in every detail, but having an idea) and that you are not too close minded about it, and that you explain things to them. I was actually not going to post this part, but I just saw Bill's reply and thought, maybe I should add it: I do meet a lot of people from the internet, and I started early with that. It has happened only once that I didn't tell my parents what I was doing and simply went ahead and met a person. I didn't want to tell my parents because I felt they would never understand and wouldn't allow it, no matter what the circumstances. Out of tons of people I've met, this was the only time that it went wrong, and it didn't only go wrong a little bit, it went really bad. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I know now that had my parents been more open, I might have been able to tell them what I wanted to do. They would have known about it, I would have met this person with other people around instead of doing it behind everyone's back, and then none of that would have ever happened. Good luck with your boys! Raising kids sounds like a pain... I might reconsider all these dreams about adoption. ;3 Sammy -
Thanks a lot!You are being careful of jumping to conclusions, huh? :3 Good observation on both parts (Conrad and Philip). It has been said though, that both Jacobs brothers are a little homophobic (the typical jock thing), though the question is: Will they fight about it with Jacob (if he, like he thought he might, "takes a stand") or will they shrug it off?

“Ben is an expert carpenter, and specializes in wood restoration.” LOL I so died laughing there... At first, I was not very happy about Matt's POV, but I then I kinda realized that it could be very interesting to watch him work his way back to the family. Even though I really didn't like him during 9.11, I suppose that opinion can change... I hope there will be more POV that Brad's and Matt's though. I do like how this whole thing with Matt and Wade in this chapter gives Matt an opportunity to get one step closer to Will. I'm sure it is only a small step, but eventually they might become close again. Brad and Ben... lol I mean, seriously? I totally see it happening, but I'm not sure what to think of it, yet. It almost seems too... idk... cliche? Idk...well you got the whole poor guy rich guy thing, so Will will be watching him closely about the money thing... I'd almost say I was hoping for a guy that doesn't fully get along with Will (at first) and like doesn't really get his emancipation, but then again, most of the readers would hate me for it and we already had that with Hank... but idk... I was hoping for Brad to not find a perfect-looking tall guy (like robbie?!), but idk... someone totally different... Maybe I'm just being weird about this, and maybe they won't even get together or I will learn to like Ben... Oh and dat mean cliffhanger! Get the next chapter out! nao :3

wooohoo! I was afraid I'd have to wait a few weeks or even months! YAY! reading now! Thank you! <3

Well, at the age of fifteen you are naïve sometimes. Judging from Ians looks and the confrontation with Conrad, Josh might not be the only one having to deal with the consequences of their little adventure. ;3 We will see about the... as long as Josh manages to escape the weekend to Ethan and Jacob doesn't do any major mistakes... well we will see. Thanks for your review!

Oh yes I liked it
-
Thanks! You are right, it's one thing to be confident when people don't know who you really are, it's another when back to your old structures... I did totally neglect the thing with Philip's age in the first chapters. He is indeed in his late twenties and he doesn't look all that bad, even though the description male model might be a bit over the top, he's definitely not ugly...
-
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you like it! :3

I liked it! It was kinda weird, but I don't know... in a good way! The flashbacks were great, the hotdog story particularly! :3 Especially in the beginning you were starting (in my opinion) too many sentences with personal pronouns (mostly I), but it got better towards the end. Oh and I love that song xD

Jacob “Cody knows,” Josh said, as he sat down next to me on the meadow. “Damn. How’d he find out?” I asked surprised. “He’s seen one of us in my clothes in the park,” Josh explained. “Watched me closely and overheard a conversation between Ethan and me. We decided it was better to tell him than to risk him doing anything stupid while trying to figure out what’s going on. He promised to keep it a secret.” “You trust him to do that?” I questioned. Josh shrugged. “It’s not like we had a choice

Chapter 3 - The Prince Comes Home
Sammy Blue commented on Andy78's story chapter in Chapter 3 - The Prince Comes Home
Nice chapter, can't wait to read more! The age of the servants would make me way uncomfortable. too, if I was Josh. Maybe he can find a good friend in Max, and Max could help get him used to servants that way, but I hope he doesn't misinterpret why Max is even making friends with him once he finds out that he 'has been told to do so'. Of course it's not like that, but it come across wrong. Also, being close to someone his age could complicate keeping things about Nate secret... Well, we shall see. -
A great chapter, although I am more confused than I was before... I was kind of hoping this would give us some clarification, but right now it feels like nothing and everything is possible. I'm particularly interested in what's up with Jarrod. I wonder if he's just not used to being around gay guys or maybe Alex is even right with his one assumption and Jarrod might even flirt back? ;D Well, we shall see!

Aw, wow! That was a very nice chapter and good, consoling ending to the tragic events that took place during this book. This story was really great and deserves it's spot as the most reviewed story. I don't think any other story had me laughing as well as tearing up so much like this one. In this review I will not speculate on the next story and possible future events, I think that can be left to the forums. The only thing I do need to say is that you nust write the next story quick because I might just have serious withdrawal symptoms if you don't.

Hey! Thanks a lot for your review and your compliments! I agree, chapter 14 was more for fun and chapter 13 was much deeper. I can totally imagine what that shower scene would look like in a movie. Thanks for giving me that mental picture. I can't tell you anything about Ethan, other than: We will have to see.
