  1. Ozzie the Aussie (I'm so glad I kept the nickname in spite of Mann hating it) is no slouch. He can sling one-liners just doesn't do it as often as CJ or Brett
  2. But, but, but,,, Jose Maria? Hi, it's Carlos. You know those pills your cousin crushed into a drink a few years ago? You think I could get a couple of them? How's that for a blast from the past?
  3. One theory: The Chinese assume the CIA will figure out the new guy's a spy sooner than later and decide on a preemptive strike. In the process, the send the Americans a message, letting them know they're on to their newest boy toy, CJ. Problem is they got it wrong. I can add more twisties if those aren't sufficient.
  4. Sounds like your experience was better than mine. You're most definitely forgiven. After all, I do have a shitload of named characters in the series. Funny thing's I introduced Elpidio first because I planned to use him repeatedly. He sort of became their go-to bartender/server for gatherings in their apartment. LOL - it's too hard with higher prices to land on a specific number. The damn dial moves too fast these days. Well, thinking about it, since next chapter involves Chipper in Mexico, I could end the chapter with the explosion at the concert venue and wrap things up in another story in a year or so. Waddayathink?
  5. We're sorry but your attempt to modify the physics of the CJverse has failed. You're not an authorized admin.
  6. LMAO - We're still in Mexico and you're already thinking about what's next? Breathe, smell the roses, relax and enjoy the story. If I crash my Harley tonight and die, y'all will have to hope someone on staff publishes the chapters I've loaded. The rest... well, it'll be up to my heirs.
  7. Our man's a PADI certified diver.
  8. I recently mentioned to Myr I would drive traffic for a few more months. CDMX began posting last November as 6 mos is long enough to keep one story going. You, better than most, know I don't like to post unless everything's ready, and any longer than six months would probably need about a year off from posting. So yes, I'm impatient to be done with Mexico. There's something quasi related to CJ coming in June and again in July. We'll see if I can have anything else ready by August.
  9. How did you get a picture of the Chinese tattoo artist in my upcoming story?
  10. Did you see my comment about never having visited Butterfly World before even though it's just a couple of miles north? I did it for Liebe!
  11. Ritch may just get spanked, Air Force cadet or not.
  12. CJ ability to connect the dots and reach reasonable conclusions will serve him well in the future. And not necessarily in politics only. If Cesar has a knack for investments, I think CJ inherited some of the critical thinking that helps make them money.
  13. I suspect they may experience similar encounters in the future. Since the CIA declassified at least some of the Domogarov situation, and CJ's involvement was obvious, he's on a few radar screens right now.
  14. When's your birthday? I expect an invite. https://www.callawaygardens.com/the-gardens/places-to-explore/day-butterfly-center/
  15. LMAO Hey, CJ. I spoke with Ambassador Cox. If you need to file a contact report, omit Stephen from the distribution list and add Spike. After all, the former wouldn't be cleared for whatever Spike embroils you in next time.
  16. @scrubber6620 CJ did say nothing was missing from the safe, so if someone cracked it, all they did was look inside and lock it again. Jimmy Chen's a good example of what you describe. He's CIA but functions as an IT tech for the embassy. I think most countries figure out who's a spy sooner or later.
  17. It sounds as if you and CJ enjoy similar Sunday morning routines. You probably don't have a 2yo disturbing your quiet time. Or a great deli around the corner to get fresh bagels and lox.
  18. I've always said you were a smart chick. LOL
  19. Only five more sleeps until Friday arrives.
  20. You know that picture I shared of CJ and Owen in their early thirties? That's who I'd be interested in. CJ at 24 is still too chicken for me.
  21. I think most intelligence services know who's an intelligence officer in most diplomatic delegations. It's why when there's a dust up some individuals get expelled from whatever country they're in at the time. If Jihnzang's an up and commer, he knew sooner or later the CIA would finger him so obliquely coming out to CJ wasn't a big deal. In the months since Domogarov's defection I'm sure the Chinese and others have analyzed the events and pretty much figured out what happened. I also don't think they believe CJ when he says he's not with the CIA.
  22. Since Domogarov's on ice these days, I decided I needed another foreign intelligence officer to add spice to their lives. Of course, while CJ may thrive on the adrenaline, Owen will keep a clear head. I have a feeling this isn't the last we'll hear from Jinzhang. I think this may be the story with the most non-American characters I've written. Maybe I can squeeze in a few more before I'm finished.
  23. Working on it... but I've also been hoping to get CJ and Owen in my bed at the same time, and you see how badly that's gone.
  24. At times, CJ's a bit too precise for my taste. No matter what Owen says, he'll stress over the safe's dial. At least Chipper's in town next chapter so he'll be a good distraction. A nice calm chapter with a certain short PA returning.
  25. CJ's natural abilities make him ideal for diplomacy. As long as he can control his temper and keeps learning. People like Sir Kent and Ambassador Cox will turn out to be great mentors.
