Welcome to the CJ-verse, Mark. Readers falling in love with my characters, and demanding they be featured in their own stories, has been a constant refrain in the comments. Love of family is at the core of the entire series. Enjoy!

I was ahead of my time, but bioweapons have been a real threat for a long time. Interestingly, I decided COVID does not exist in the CJ-verse
-
You may as well chain me to my desk and start the coffee IV. There are not enough hours available!
-
I did. When I wrote this, my confidence wasn't there and I needed all the support and encouragement I could get.
-
LOL I have enough on my plate already! This entire story was a sad one. Not sure I could write this type of stuff again. Although I do include sadness in my work, it tends to be mostly feel-good stories. I figure someone else can tackle the angst and pain.
-
Damn! You've gone back to the beginning. This was the first real story I posted on GA.
-
Figures! LOL

You'd spend 3 hours to walk almost 10 miles round trip for ice cream?!?!?! That's a bit long for a stroll in my book. Yes, Jeni's is close enough, but it's a chain based in Ohio. CJ would insist on a local shop. Here's something for you to waste time on. LOL DC's 15 Essential Ice Cream Shops

Did you enjoy it? It's the only story in the series written in first person, and the only story I've posted a chapter and left it at that. It's time to get chapter 2 done.
-
You're sooo good at googling. Everhope's at 131 11th Street SE That one's too far for a stroll. So are the ones I mentioned before in previous installments. I think one was in Chinatown? Since they live in such an urban environment, I see CJ and Owen as typical millennials, walking to as many places as possible. I already know there are bars and restaurants in the area, and sooner or later we'll hear about their favorite bakery, dry-cleaner, and ice cream shop.

I am? I swear nobody tells me anything!

We don't know what she know or doesn't, except for what we've been shown. Rules tend be a bit different when national security's involved. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I take anything any governmental official says concerning security, with a grain of salt.
-
There better be a good ice cream shop in the hood whenever they return to Washington.
-
He could have also been eyeing an opportunity to get sexually involved with CJ, Owen, or both. He could have been using the ballet dancer to test the waters. I have so many questions... I want answers! Dammit!

Liars and cheats are often rewarded in the intelligence business. hell, it happens in business and sports. Who cares if you're scum, if you have enough money or athletic ability, we'll give you a pass. The initial conviction of Jeffrey Epstein's a perfect example. The current vaccine controversy has show some of our biggest sports stars are liars. I'm so glad the Green Bay Packers were bounced off the playoffs. Ooops, that was off topic. LOL

Me too. Unless something major happens, he could be in hot water.

@Anton_Cloche I thought about using that cheesey line, but it was an instance where I felt humor might not be the best idea. Although I may have shown one or two meetings with the CIA, more went into planning the operation than we are aware of. Starting with them having a 'driver' who could help protect them. Inside the embassy though, the crowd would have acted as a shield. Russians take their ballet and vodka seriously and would not want an "incident" splashed on the news the next day. Seven days (six now) will pass faster than you think.

I have a feeling as often as Brett drilled into CJ's head if he pulled a gun on someone he better be ready to shoot and kill, not making idle threats was probably part of the lessons. I truly believe CJ could kill someone if he felt they were a threat to his family. While most of us will never know the feeling, it must be liberating not to have to work for a living. Those bank accounts of his give him options and if he wants it, clout. I forgot about Simmone and Trixie! I don't think I ever had them recount their experience. I doubt very much they met with one of the dancers while he was naked.

@scrubber6620 One problem here is the State Department has no jurisdiction. They can't expel anyone from Mexico. Cox's involvement, Domogarov's future, and any possible replacement will be discussed in coming chapters.
-
Using sex as a tool in spycraft's nothing new. Although it's Russia we're dealing with and not the USSR, I fear a lot of the old methods are still being used. The ambassador may not have any say in whatever happens to Domogarov.

I think the fairy dust you sprinkled in the air to make it Friday did not work. Did you check the use-by date stamped on the lid?
-
I know. My screensaver's naked pictures of CJ. I use those as inspiration. Unfortunately, GA and Google won't allow me to share them.
-
Alas, my control over time's not what it used to. I tried to make it Friday again today, but I'm stuck on Saturday. Seems we're stuck with the same stupid order of days.
-
Thanks! I don't want to give away Domogarov's intentions and approach. That's coming up in about 4 chapters. Part of the buildup has been me trying to string antagonists out over multiple chapters instead of disposing of them quickly as I have in the past. I keep experimenting with my writing and I'm glad it worked. As for Ritch, at this point in time, December 2021, he's in his second year at the Academy. Give him a couple more and put him in an F16 or something and he'll take out the entire Russian embassy if he has to.
