Good to be back and good to have you on board for a new adventure. May 2023 be filled with good things.
-
One of my goals has been to show CJ and Owen, and their kids, traveling the world, interacting with different cultures, and making friends in multiple places. Sooner or later, they'll have friends or acquaintances in places I hope to describe.

I frequently draw on personal experience while writing, and Molly talking about her father was one of those instances. One of my sister in laws, before the wedding, warned me about her father being a die-hard conservative who had run for office as a Republican. We were on our way to the engagement party and the man was pleasant to no end that night. Can't say the same for the rest of the guests. My other brother and I may have tossed the groom into the pool at one point before being joined by most of his friends. The women refused to step on the pool deck afterward. And yes, Paul definitely goaded CJ into taking a shot. I thought that fit in well with the personality I sketched for him when first introduced years ago.

Happy New Year. The guys will be in NYC sometime in August 2022. One night while in Manhattan, they go on a double date with Brad and Cristina. 54 Below's one of the locations I'm thinking of using for that night.

Did you notice in my anthology story I had Liebe and Fabricio walk down the aisle on their own? My thinking was exactly what you say. I did not think Liebe would allow herself to be considered property to be given away.

LMAO - There are events I touched on in a couple of the spinoffs that have not yet come to pass in the main series. To avoid further confusion, I'll deal with those when the chronology catches up. We're back in 2022 for a bit.

You Brits have had your share of weirdos in charge lately. LOL

I've been to a couple of dry weddings. Primarily due to religious reasons. CJ and Owen's consumption I patterned after my own: they drink, sometimes over do it, but it's not a need to consume alcohol due to an addiction. I think that ties in with what Brett and Cesar always preach about anything and everything in moderation.

Gott nytt år! (Thank you Google Translate.) Sweden and Finland seeking NATO membership after Russia attacked Ukraine will get a mention in a future story.
-
When I first saw your comment I thought it said 'Greetings from Melania. I wondered why the former first lady would be saying hello.
-
You trying to complicate my plots even more? LOL I want CJ sitting in a studio with Tucker. Unfortunately, that means whenever I get around to writing the interview, I'll have to watch him for a while so I can get the speech patterns right.
-
Yes it is. Never been there, but I've visited a couple of other mansions built by the Vanderbilt family. They have been just as ostentatious and over the top.
-
Glad you liked that. My brother did say yesterday was beautiful except for the Miami Dolphins losing their football game. He and my oldest nephew are big fans.

Some people can't keep their mouths shut--something CJ needs to learn--and adding alcohol to the mix makes matters worse. Interestingly, I have CJ limit his drinking the next night, hoping to avoid another confrontation. He's not entirely successful.

Had to google Lower Decks since I wasn't familiar with the show. If you ever catch any Below Deck shows on Bravo (I think there are 4 different ones now) you'll feel deja vu. I watched a few episodes looking for inspiration, and I got a few ideas, but those shows focus on crew drama and after my storie's prologue, the crew's mostly in the background. The sailing vacation was inspired by one I took years ago on a much, much, smaller sailboat.

HNY, Parker. CJ's able to say stuff now he didn't feel comfortable verbalizing as a diplomat. I'm looking forward to him using logic to trash losers over the next couple of years. Thought of you recently when trying to pick background music for an upcoming dinner party. Settle on Buena Vista Social Club since it'll let me tie in to a subsequent story. As the prologue proves, I'm obsessed with having things follow logically. Even if I write the stories out of order. LOL

Unfortunately, I can't use the Jan 6 investigation, Trump's announcement, Elon, or Kanye yet. I was going to skip writing about the fall and winter of 2022, but I may have to work some details in a story. For now, I'll pick on Rubio and DeSantis -

A little upscale? My brother's way too upscale by family standards. Years ago, his father in law bought condos for each of his four children in the same building he bought the penthouse in. Combo hotel/condo across Water Tower. He and his wife sold it when they settled in New Jersey for a few years, and bought this place after he was laid off a landed a job in Chicago. The man's good at what he does and has been successful. He's the CEO for a national sub-prime lender these days. -
The wedding schedule was inspired by one I attended back in 1981. A fraternity brother married a wealthy New Orleans woman and the entire weekend was a whirlwind. Of course they will. They'll blame CJ for Russia and Ukraine fighting! In Everhope, I had him tangle with a Fox reporter. Not sure when I'll get around to writing the story, but him, Owen, and Liebe will be in New York in August 2022. They'll stop by NBC, ABC, and CNN (the networks they have friends at, for short interviews. Mostly to promote CJ's upcoming book. I want him to tangle with Tucker Carlson, but haven't figured out exactly when or how. When Biden appoints him ambassador to Cuba might be the best time, but that's two years away and I'm impatient.

I wish I could be as fast as CJ when having tense conversations. My replies aren't always as sharp as the ones I think off later.

Coming soon for PS5, CJ's Adventures. Follow along as he beats up bikers, aims a gun at a neo-nazi, and shoots a kidnapper. Unlock the proper level and you can have his brother beat up a Turkish boxer and a drunk Englishman. Rated M for violence, adult language, tobacco, alcohol, and drug use, and not wearing helmets when riding motorcycles. A higher level will let us play when his daughter kicks a bully in the gonads.. LOL

Great to hear from you! Glad to see you survived last week's storms; my brother and his family escaped the night before it hit, and they said O'Hare was a zoo. They live in Winnetka. I didn't know you'd lived in DC! Back when I wrote that passage, my characters spent a lot of time in the Georgetown-Foggy Bottom area. These days, I've switched to Capitol Hill and I'm having to discover all new interesting places for them to hang out in. I have a couple more in the story I'm currently writing. -

Did you notice Harley got a mention? I miss the guy. I said I created Paul with this wedding in time, and I made sure he could keep up with CJ and his other friends. Even at a place like Georgetown, jocks are going to be partiers and troublemakers. They're just a little smarter than the average football player. -

My pleasure. I've been looking forward to today since the last story finished posting. -
Repeating my advice, check the CJ thread out. You'll also find a picture of CJ and Owen around the time of the wedding.
