    Rebuilding a house and a life simultaneously had to be a challenge. I'm sure arshall insisted the keep Sauerwood as the name. Very enjoyable, Val. Great work. FYI I haven't watched the show but I've seen promos recently for Good Bones on HGTV, where they're renovating an old Victorian with a turret. In one of the commer ials, they mentioned cladding it in copper. David would have probably approved.

    Kai Palakiko was at the Air Force Academy at the same time Ritch was. A couple of years older if I recall correctly. He was the first one who said he wanted to fly Air Force One.

    Thank you, Tony. Since the story was meant to be reachable to everyone, I didn't want to include too many details, but making Joel and Kai CJ's Air Force one pilots I figure would be noticed by regular readers. I bet his husband was surprised the first time Joel came home and said something like: Honey. we're invited to dinner at the White House on Thursday. LOL Glad you enjoyed it.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who holds grudges. I never forgave my dad for selling the 1973 Pontiac Catalina I had inherited when he bought my mom a new car. So what if it only gave me 8 miles per gallon. I could fit about a dozen people in that tank.

    In the future, you may want to follow the seven Ps. Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance. A character of mine has used that line several times.

    How did your mom fare? Watching it make landfall in SC, reminded me of Hugo. I was in the city five years after that storm and you coud still see damage in the historic district.

    Bah, better late than never. Funny things about weddings, CJ and Owen have two they attend over the 2022 summer, and in my next story a couple gets engaged.

    In the last couple of years of his life, my dad would write things down, stick the note in a pocket, and promptly for get about it and whatever it was he wrote down in order to remember it. The moment I start finding notes in pockets when I do laundry, I'm checking myself into an assisted living facility.

    I lived in Naples for a year, in a gated community by Marco Island. Canals crisscrossed the development to provide drainage, but they're probably flooding. We have rain and wind on the east coast, but it's mild. Although wind now and then kicks up. It woke me up around 3:30. Here's hoping your people ride it out safely. SC may get hit once Ian leaves Florida.

    Most people don't realize how much Brexit changed lives. I doubt most people who supported were aware of the consequences.

    @kbois Sounds like you're staying put. I hope you're away from the bay. Last night, while I was watching Monday Night Football, it started raining. Pretty sure it rained all night and it's still pouring. We might get a little wind, but it's gonna be wet no matter what. People don't realize the center of the hurricane may be headed to the Tampa area, but the rain and wind cover a huge area.

    I had outlined 2 other stories about the dolphin's origins. Once Atlantis sank and they left the area, I planned a short story about their time in Portugal, and one about them finally settling in Eastern Canada. Not sure if or when I'll get to those. Aside from time constraints, I wasn't entirely happy with Explosions, and any sequels will require lots of thought. For some weird reason, I want to like my own work.

    @Reader1810 Next story's also set in the future but 2027 instead of 2048. We get to meet Roo and Jeffer as 4 yo kids. The little angels.
