  1. Nope, I meant Michelle and Ears. Ozzie's parents have met them and Barack's a football fan. Those dinner invites will be a hot ticket. LOL
  2. My next story's set in 2027, and as far as I can recall, it has minimal amount of politics. Mostly local Washington stuff. Aside from an odd short or two, the subsequent book would cover the summer of 2022 and may include some serious political discussions. I plan on having CJ and Owen host monthly dinner parties with an eclectic group of guests when the return to the US. I think I'd like to use those for some serious conversations.
  3. I wore a leather vest over a t-shirt while riding on Sunday, and I was a sweaty mess. South Florida heat at its best. But I did look cool. 😎
  4. The entire Mayan Rivera is beautiful. It's become more expensive in recent years, and there have been some issues with criminal elements, but the people, the places, and the food are worth the trip.
  5. Really? I figured by now all those Cadbury eggs would be gone.
  6. Those two act the way my brothers and I did (do) CJ would have made sure to rub his sweat all over his brother.
  7. I was with CJ and Owen on Easter Sunday. What do you think the chances are they took me to church? LOL
  8. I may have to wait until after this year's elections to know who'll be around. I fear we may have plenty of trashable politicians available for our hero to go toe to toe with.
  9. LMFAO - He gets a mention in this week's chapter.
  10. Of course he sticks the landing...
  11. @Anton_Cloche My biggest continuity issue has been changes in the real world affecting certain scenes. Twice, I've referenced celebrity couples who've separated before the events I described, once a sports team changed its name, and at least once a restaurant had closed by the time I had CJ eat there. I'm trying to be a bit more careful when writing in the future these days. Glad all the fictional stuff tracks well, though. I'm still not sure how much or when CJ will opine on SCOTUS and other such matters, but we get a small taste in this week's chapter.
  12. @scrubber6620 I provided the bare minimum when describing Northman and his background. On purpose. I'm not sure CJ will even figure out the reason behinf the animosity, but I've tried to steer those in two directions. 1) CJ marches to his own beat and that upsets Northman's carefully planned life. 2) The bitch's just jealous.
  13. Excellent! We read some of that in Cadet. I'll revisit their time in Miami and Key West in a future story.
  14. I've used the interview format before, and I like it. It allows for a wide range of subjects in a short space, and lets me revisit events and expand on them. I'm itching to write a verbal confrontation between CJ and someone, but it won't be the Donald. He's not smart enough to match wits with CJ, would get frustrated, and lie about anything and everything.
  15. Because Brett and Cesar are young and for most of their lives shunned publicity, CJ doesn't start with the name recognition someone like the Kennedys or the Bushes start with. The wealth helps, but he's carving out a name for himself by himself (with an assist from the family now and then)
  16. He ran and won a position on the Advisory Neighborhood Commission. But since he was elected to represent Georgetown, he had to give up the position when he moved to the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
  17. Not sure he'd do anything right by CJ at this point. He started by trying to assert his dominance in the office and CJ upset the cart enough jealously has probably become part of the equation. Who knows what Northman envisioned his career going, but he won't like it when CJ catapaults over him and gets appointed as an ambassador.
  18. I think Northman started by trying to keep his fiefdom functioning the way he likes, but he ran into CJ. Whiplash would be a nice way of describing what he's experiencing. CJ, without trying, keeps intruding in his orderly world.
  19. This has been an interesting story as far as timing is concerned. Event dates are close to chapter publishing days, so I've had the ability to tinker with later chapters to reference actual events. Next chapter I'll touch on the transphobic and health intrusive laws passed by Republican legislatures. I do have a couple of dinner parties planned for the summer of 2022 which will show how CJ feels about those matters.
  20. it'll all be revealed soon enough
  21. Did you notice I tinkered to include a reference to Ukraine? Fuck Putin for messing with my story. Then again, I already had CJ talking about a renewed cold war with Russia...
  22. Fantastic observation! Probably the same generation since they're close in age, but you got the right idea. CJ's paying it forward.
  23. I think only a couple of individuals who've read the story know who it is.
  24. More like not spending a couple of hours a day working out. Gave that up when I turned 60.
