  1. Thanks, Defiance! I was pretty proud of this story. Hopefully the human survives, but the human body can only take so much before it gives out. I'm glad you liked it, despite the dark subject.
  2. The human has proved pretty feisty so far, so I'm hoping he survived too. Karma has a pretty far reach and a long memory, so I'm sure Shade will eventually get what's coming to him Thanks for reading and commenting.
  3. Thanks, Tim.
  4. I don't think we want to know why the king wanted the human babies. Thanks for your input with this story. I really appreciate it. I like a good, dark tale once in a while, too.
  5. We don't know the human's fate. It does look grimm... um grim but he's proven pretty resilient so far. And yes... the fae are not always happy little elves. Thanks for the high praise.
  6. Thanks, Tim. I'm hoping the human survived. Even if he didn't, like you said, at least Briar got his comeuppance.
  7. Thanks so much, Gary "Word painting" I love it There's a dark side to Faery that's not often explored. I'm glad you liked my story.
  8. Good question. He's got a lot of fight in him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he became a version of Van Helsing dedicated to eradicating dark fae. Ooo... that would make a good story... Thanks for commenting!

    Predator

*fans self* I think I need a cold shower now... this belongs in your spice rack with the ghost peppers, Chef. Predator, indeed. Is it wrong that I want to let out a loud growl right now?
  15. Thanks Tim. Yeah... millipedes? Ugh is right.
  16. Me too. I had Joker locked in the bathroom for a couple of hours and heard quite the commotion at one point. So I'm hoping that means the multi-legged demon was sent to the hell from whence it came. I'm glad I made you laugh
  17. Thanks, Gary. I'm still not convinced it's not lurking somewhere in the bathroom, ready to strike when I least expect it...

    The Story

This is a heart-wrenching story. You portray a very realistic scenario of what it's like to deal with Alzheimer's. I like the ending, even though it's tinged with sadness. Saul and Max have their time together at last, even if Max's cognition is fading. Very well done.
  19. “Will you shut that disgusting thing up? I swear I’m going to kill it before we get anywhere near our prize.” “I’m trying! It’s too stupid to know any better.” Shade pressed his slimy brown hand over the mouth of the crying infant fae, who struggled in his tight grip. He hoped it would be enough to stifle the baby’s cries. He knew from experience that Briar Toadthistle would make good on his word, and he didn’t feel like explaining yet another failed mission to his king. “Well tr

    Brotherhood

Loud shouts and banging doors caused me to open my eyes and stretch my arms. Moonlight flooded through the circular window next to me, and my heart pounded in my chest. My brother stood and I slid off his lap, along with the book he’d been reading to me when we both fell asleep. “Shit! Mom and Dad are home!” I’d never seen Elijah look so scared. My lower lip quivered and tears threatened to spill from my eyes. “Shhh… don’t start crying. They’ll find us. It’s OK. We ca
  21. Not all fairies have wings and sprinkle pixie dust. Briar Toadthistle and Shade Sourthorn are attempting a mission they've failed before. If they don't succeed, their heads are on the line. Karma isn't limited to the human realm, though, and a choice made may prove more costly than either of them anticipated.
  22. Some bonds cannot be broken, no matter the time or distance.
  23. I can view them now
  24. I am only able to view my own stories. I get an error message for all the rest.
  25. Yay! It's nice to see so many stories from such a diverse group of authors. I have lots of reading to do this weekend It was my pleasure to help with the proof team. The banner looks great, Mann. Thanks to all who help make the anthology possible and to Renee for coordinating it all.
