Yes! Thank you so much for this comment. You are absolutely right. We don't know the whole parent piece of it. I'd like to think they were able to work past their issues too. I love your phrase "sin of imperfect understanding". And yes, now the brothers can rebuild their relationship and focus on a future that brings their two families closer together.

IMO, one of the highest compliments a story can get is to be thought-provoking. I know I skipped a large portion of the getting-to-know-you process, but otherwise I would have ended up with a much larger work that wouldn't have been submitted on time. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks, Caz I find it interesting that so many people wanted to see the parents' reaction. I had originally written a scene where Eli and Issac confronted their parents, but ended up taking it out. There are so many stories written about parents rejecting their gay children, which include confrontation scenes. I wanted to shift the focus to the brothers' relationship and how they moved past the hurt to create something positive. I could write a whole other story about the dynamic with the parents. Rush and Ben don't have Clay with them 24/7. They need their alone time too The Charlie ruse was deliberate. I'm glad it worked. I'm not so sure Issac was starved of affection, but rather idolized his older brother. Could be a combination of the two. Thanks for the comments. Your comments always make me think.

Thanks so much, Tim. Your comment tells me that I did justice to Cole's characters. I deliberately left the parents out because I wanted to focus on the brothers' relationship. I don't imagine that they overcame their ignorance, but you never know.
