    Poor Kohen. I'm also wondering how much of his memories are real or if they were part of a "Matrix" type experiment to control him. Lakshou's reaction stood out to me. He backed away... was that because of the intensity of Kohen's emotions or something else? And the captain seems pretty sure that Kohen won't hurt him. I'm guessing he knows more than we currently realize. I'm loving this story. I should probably let a few chapters build up, but I don't think I can stop reading this little snackerls every week

    This was very difficult for me to write, even though the words flowed pretty smoothly. I wanted to convey how even the very environment around us can seem against us when we receive devastating news. Your comment shows me that it worked. Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate it.

    Prompt 637 – Challenge Tag – Emotion No one enjoys dealing with the sad emotions. A breakup, a death, or even a serious illness can put a character through hell. Create a scene where your character is given some bad news and what happens when they are alone and process it. Remember to show and not tell. Bring the anguish alive for the reader. A loud, blaring horn, followed by the screech of tires, made me realize I’d just driven through an intersection with four-way stop signs.

    Wow... so many stories from a nice variety of authors. I know I've read Viv's, and highly recommend all her stories. I'll have to check the rest out if I ever get time to read.

    Wow... that was a lot of information for less than a thousand words. Poor Kohen. I agree with Dr P that the alterations may turn out to be a gift vs a curse. Maybe he'll end up using his powers against those that gave them to him in the first place
