Bonjour guys! I had m'y follow up appointment with the doctor about my sleep problems and the results are not cool... I've failed absolutely all the tests last week even those I thought I had resisted and not fallen asleep. Despite 8 to 10 hours of good sleep at night I have a severe somnolency with an average of 3.10 minutes to fall asleep when the average for normal people is 8 minutes. Obviously this is not compatible with driving... So from now on I'm engaging my responsibility every time I get behind the wheel... She offered to put me on medical leave but I can't (I mean I've managed so far and the school is less than a 25 minutes drive so I'm careful). What would I do alone in my apartment and my student I can't leave them like that plus my titularisation is at play (if I have 36+ days off it's delayed). We don't have the results of the genetic blood test but if I'm positive for narcolepsy I'll have to do a lumbar puncture. In the mean time I'll have to take a cerebral MRI and I'll have a treatment. On the administrative side I have to consult with the work doctor to have a case build to for next September to not be send to far away and even maybe not to little kids...

I'm free!!! I had to take a nap this morning and another one this afternoon. When I rang the bell at 3.30pm to say that I was done with my nap the nurse said ok and left me. I wait and wait and wait. They had told me I'd be free around 4.30 but it was already approaching 4pm and no news. I was going crazy, like really. When the nurse finally came in my room she asked if I thought I'd like to take another nap before 5.30... I told her no and that she better let me go cause I was inches away from climbing the walls. I was set free from all the electrodes and allow to take a shower The paste in my hair to hold the electrodes was a bitch to take off (imagine something like dry plaster/toothpaste). Now I have some rash on my chin, left cheekbone and on my forehead near my hairline on the right from the glue

@Albert1434were you able to have another date for you doctor appointment?

I can use a sink to wash up so it's something. I haven't heard from the doctor since my arrival but some captors have been taken off. It was those for sleep apnea and the no rest legs thing so I guess those 2 things are off the list of things I might have. My skin is dry and itches from the sticky bandages kind of thing they've put on my face to keep the electrodes in place. I can't wait to be home, take a shower, have a self care moment and breath some fresh air.

Hiya Pagey I'm at the end of a cold so definitely doing better. Today was also day 2 out of 4 of my stay at the hospital to run tests about sleep. I have about 20 electrodes on my face, my scalp (yes in my hair staying in place thanks to some kind of paste that'll be a delight to take off...), behind my ears and on my calves. Last night I also had 2 things in my nostrils. Today the test was to not fall asleep on regular moment when I was put to sit in a chair with the shutter down and only a low light at the ceiling. I failed then all. They're also running blood test and doing genetic analysis cause narcolepsy is actually a gene that can activate. For all tests and during the night I'm being filmed.
