I was reflecting just now on how different Lynix is to Ellis. Ellis built a misery engine... while Lynix domesticated himself and happily feeds on the repressed sexual desires of a pent-up theatre kid with a binder, and his overly enthusiastic bunny of a boyfriend.

I actually have one of those thermal printers I use because I loathe the Toner cabal. I highly recommend it, comes in handy as it's portable and when dealing with the NHS demanding you bring them NHS forms they claim they sent you days ago, but secretly only sent you when you are sitting in their waiting room... HA, the looks on their smug faces when I whip it out and run said form off, staring them right in the eye as I beat their bureaucratic game... ahhhh satisfaction.

Now Darien, Wylan et all bounce around horses, this is deliberate, Horses were cycled on rides like this, keeping one fresh at all times. (At least this early in the campaign)

West and Will are a complicated pair to write. They have such different experiences with the Major. Which is why West speaks to Jacob and the boys about Grandpa Carter differently than any of the others. I tend to assume the message was the watch, and the regret that comes when you need to say you're sorry to someone but you know you will never get the chance. Will and his father aren't in that place, Will is still very haunted by the Major, and there is a moment, later in this book where that is addressed, and it's Jacob that really addresses it. You'll see Jacob is a warrior, Will assumes he gets it from Andrew, but Jacob is Will's son as well, and the warrior in him is just as much his.

he is also a Magi. As far as God goes, he's playing with a different deck. My magic system is.... It's rare, Wylan is raw untrained power, Ishan is highly trained but dealing with a lot of other issues, there are a set of Triplet Egyptian Witches who are VERY confused why their seduction magic doesn't work on Darien... and the byzantine Official. i am limiting the Magi to one or two per empire... and keeping it Very very abstract. This way it doesn't overpower the actual historical action.

Yep, if Taine dies, he gets his eternal reward in an insufferable gooey embrace with :: Ellis makes an ick sound :: Saint Michael of the booty shorts. If he dies and goes to hell, Saint Michael will kick the door down, to find Taine boring the hell out of all the demons down there.... nope not happening.
