  1. Speaking of cliffhangers, there is now only 2 days left to vote for the King of Evil Cliffhangers. So if you haven't voted yet, what are you waiting for?
  2. It could be that Johnson may have picked up on some of the language spoken. And if the guards don't speak english, how else could he talk to them at this time.
  3. So, you're saying it was a team effort.
  4. Looks like we've got a couple of major cliffhangers going here as we have to wait to see the outcome. Eric has screwed up BIG time. All I want to see right now is backside and elbows going after Jansen. They've both got some explaining to do to each other. You know, the version of that story I know was a fox and not a frog. I'm guessing that since we don't have any foxes here, the goat chose a frog to pick on.
  5. In time for some afternoon reading at work.
  6. I usually tap it on the counter top all the way around, then apply a small amount of pressure to it which usually flips up a piece of shell. Depending on the use of the egg, I'll hold it under a small stream of running water. The water gets under that membrane, making the shell come off easier.
  7. Don't worry. On one talon, it would take too many frogs to fill up this bird of prey. On the other, all it would take is one goat. I particularly like those cliff dwelling types.
  8. Roasted Goat and Frog Legs. The menu grows.
  9. I was referring to the lemons.
  10. That's what I know them as also. About the only time I've seen them used for snow removal, is in the aftermath of a Nor'easter.
  11. I don't think they will be able to do anything with the lemons, except throw them away. I doubt there was any survivors.
  12. I remember one particular snow event that happened back in 1978. During the month of January, I had become friends with a Med Student who was doing a rotation with a group of Surgeons. I had invited him over for the evening of the 26th, a Wednesday. By nine that evening we had six inches of snow on the ground. His parents lived ten miles away. So he spent the night. Long story short, he didn't leave until Sunday morning to go home. During the night, the snow storm turned into a blizzard.
  13. It'll be interesting to see if they find the black box and check it out and get a better picture of how they've been duped. Eric and Jansen seem to be getting closer. It wouldn't surprise me to see Eric make the first big move.
  14. I just checked to see if the chapter was up yet, and it wasn't. But what I did find made me laugh. At the top, under the Changing Lanes banner was an add for the book, 'Kiss of a Demon King.'
  15. I bet some of our members will be more than happy to send you a trainload or two your way Rush.
  16. To use the forum poll system would make everything public and could be potentially embarrassing to an individual(s). Lets say for example Author A receives 10, Author B 2, Author C 8, and Author D 0. Imagine how Authors B & D would feel with that being known. Myr does have a program that he has used. Because it is time consuming for him to set up, the WST developed the system we are using currently. Sat8997 graciously volunteered to receive the nominations. When the nomination process was over, she supplied us with the top five nominee's. She alone knows how many nominations a story or author received. Kurt volunteered to receive the votes. When the voting is over, he will post the list of winners to us (WST) and not the number of votes received. The award banners will then be made up for posting. The Writers Support Team is made up of readers, authors, and editors. The authors, for obvious reasons, voluntarily stay out of any discussion.
  17. The nomination process went so smoothly this year, that the Writers Support Team, excluding a certain 'goat', decided to launch the voting early. Originally, the voting was to begin on February 1st and end on February 15th. What we've done, is give you, "the reader", an extra four days to vote.
  18. That's our goat. Campaigning to the end.
  19. If you should have any questions in regards to the voting for the 2008 Readers Choice Awards, please post them here. A member of the WST will answer them as soon as possible. DO NOT POST YOUR VOTES HERE. THEY WILL NOT BE COUNTED. Talonrider Deputy Lead WST
  20. Well, Rats will do their best to desert a sinking ship. I think there just might be an interest in Jansen for Eric. How many straight guy's do you know who would say something like Eric did.
  21. It was a very moving story. I watched the Sunday airing. The discussions between her and the MCC minister just goes to show how much the bible is changed from one translation to the next.
  22. You're welcome, your most exulted one.
  23. Had Steve agreed to that, what would it have done to his story line? For one thing, we probably wouldn't have had the cliffhanger ending we did.
  24. I'm a little late in posting in this discussion, but this is the first opportunity I've had to sit down and go over this seriously. As Deputy Lead of the WST, I'll expand a little on what Myk said. I handled the last four GA Promising Authors. Once the decision was made to make the offer, I pm'd each of them with the offer. They in turn, replied and I sent them instructions for the next step. They were to send a blurb about themselves and a banner to Steph. I then let Steph know who was going to be contacting her. Once she had the blurb and banner added to the Authors page, she let me know. I then contacted Joe for a change in tags. When Joe let me know the changes were done, I posted the announcement. All of this was done in just a few days. GA Promising Authors continue to post their stories in eFiction. Once the offer is made and accepted for GA Hosted Author, then a website must be designed with the author and tech support working together and depending on what's going on behind the scenes that keep GA going, it can take some time before the site is ready to go. Once we get this years awards done, the Team can then look into the categories for next years.
