    Chapter 22

@kbois You've got us all so conditioned to expect your devious tricks that we continue to refuse to believe that the perps did something so mundane as to just walk out the front door. Brava!!!

    Chapter 22

You could have been a nasty, miserly drunk. So I think generous fits.

    Chapter 22

It got some pretty bad reviews.

    Chapter 22

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. And a great chapter, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Much better than going out to watch Moonfall. And a relief that no one we know was killed or seriously injured and all the pups were rescued. On to the finale and the revealing of all secrets!

    Chapter 21

Great chapter. Whiplash ending. The reading audience is being whipped into a frenzy. I wonder what nefariousness Peter Nichols is up to at the moment? I would've expected him be with Alberts, Belland and Caleb. Spyke: We're going to have an all out war. Kbois: That's the first right guess so far! The stage is almost set. On this side of the arena, garbed in drab, depressing colors, are our villains: Alberts, Belland, the Nichols family and all their minions. (Boo, hiss!!) On the other side, dressed in bright, uplifting colors, are our heroes: the Sentinels and their crew. (Loud cheers!!) Over in the shadows, so we can't see which side he's on yet, stand Caleb. Any moment now, our esteemed author and ringmaster will give the signal for the battle to begin.

If they had, I'm sure you wouldn't have forgotten. That's something even a senior moment wouldn't erase. 😁 Now Trixie probably would have hid her eye's in teenage embarrassment. Simmone would have thoroughly checked him out and probably verbalized her appreciation, out of politeness of course.

If the Russians were stupid enough to mess with Trixie, what CJ did would seem like love taps compared to what Simone would do to them.

Ditto for Ritch, especially when he's in a fighter plane.

Oh, so Madame Ambassador, while given overall approval, might well have not been told Jimmy & CJ's actual plans. Jimmy is lucky that his job doesn't include haven't to go to social events and pretend to like the people he's spying on.

It might be a tossup between a taco truck and an ice cream truck.

Interesting chapter. I'm curious how you're going to wrap up the story in only one more chapter.

    Jared

Ditto - I'm hooked, waiting for more. I think it has potential for way more than three chapters.

Great chapter, Carlos. The buildup was perfect. It started in previous chapters, that the ballet and reception were a big deal for CJ, and you picked it right up at the start of this chapter. The limousine waiting in line was an apt metaphor for what we were all feeling. And once the director (you) aid "Action" it was nonstop fun! I particularly liked the touch of CJ's hand signals to Ozzie (I can picture that hands closeup in the movie version). As I was reading this chapter, I kept thinking of Ritch, the brothers being trained for action against the countries enemies. I could feel Ritch supporting CJ. What's with the fabled Russian intelligence anyway? CJ's dad is a Marine, one of his best friend's was a Ranger, his brother is a cadet at the AF Academy. That's all public knowledge. Doh! Hhow could Domogarov think CJ would be a pushover?

What concerns me is that the dancer might suffer consequences for not seducing CJ & Oz as he was assigned to do and also for telling them he was straight. He might find his career is over. It was a slip for CJ to tell Domogarov that he knew the dancer was straight.

That's so great that the bride was thinking of wearing kilts as part of her wedding outfit.😇

There were other signs of CJ maturing. One is his not going it alone, rather strategizing options with Jimmy, Ozzie (and others?). Another is his flexible thinking even while angry, quickly adjusting the plan to include what happened with the ballet dancer.

Does the ambassador have that kind of authority over the head spy? Let's hope that President Putin's reaction to CJ's action is not using nerve agents like he's had done against other's who've pissed him off.

Perhaps the "incident" that had CJ & family rushed out of Mexico, and in which Lincoln played a key part and cemented him as a Squad member? That looms larger in readers' minds with each chapter.

    Chapter 20

People seem to be able ferment anything. Buttermilk, kefir and yogurt are examples of fermented milk. Mead of fermented honey. And jenkem (for huffing rather than drinking) of fermented shit .

Angela Lansbury was at the top of her form in that show. Her Tony award was well earned.
