The next day, I was really restless, because I knew that my parents were on their way here, but wouldn’t arrive till tonight because they were having a full day layover in Singapore, so as not to be too tired when they arrive in Tasmania, so I tried to keep myself busy. Because of the sudden changes, the meeting with the school in Launceston had been postponed, and this left me with a lot of extra time to spare, so I convinced Aunty Grace to take me to a few bike shops to see what is avail

Anyway, we went to a café to chat and we learnt that he is dying of Leukemia, and that he has been desperately trying to locate us, as he has a twelve-year old son, who he wants my parents to take over custody of him as soon as possible. I got to know my cousin a little bit yesterday, and we are meeting again later today at our family farm, which I had no idea about until yesterday,” I replied. “Wow, you are full of dramas in your life. So, was there some kind of falling out between your da

“Grace, it is good to finally catch up with you, we have a very urgent family matter to discuss… who is this? Not your son? Maybe nephew? Does my brother have children? Where is Christopher, I need to speak to him urgently,” the man said to Aunty Grace, and it was then that I suddenly realised that his man in front of me was my Uncle Jake. “Hello Uncle Jake, I have heard only a little about you and all of it just recently, and none of it was good,” I said angrily, “Now, now nephew, mind you

At dinner time, I told Mum and Dad about the latest news from my old school in Tasmania, and both parents were shocked. “Well, it looks like we are not the only parents that are not happy with the court’s decision, is there anything else about it?” Dad said in response. “Yes, the School Board and the Anglican Church have jointly filed to the Supreme Court, to overturn the latest decision, saying that it is within the Schools long standing rules and regulations that each student and their pa

After been away for two weeks, Giles returned, and he was happy to be back, although he too was a bit jumpy when there was a sudden loud noise, which made me react in fright most times. Every afternoon for 90 minutes, I would sneak into the chapel for meditation, straight after school had ended and before evening roll call, and three days a week Giles, Adam and Chad would join me, while on the alternate days, I was on my own. Aunty Grace had arranged for the delivery of a number of Tibetan

I am not sure why, but I was feeling very vulnerable right now, and also relieved that I had good friends to help me. “Giles… how is Giles? Is he alright?” I croaked between tears, “Yes, he is been looked after, now lets finish getting you untied, and suitably attired, then we will get you to sickbay, so the Matron can check you over, once she has seen to Giles,” Lenn said to me. Once I was untied, Lenn helped me to put my shirt on, which has all its buttons ripped off, then my trouser, and

This is the third time, I have read this story, and I still enjoy every single chapter of it. Well done mate… Rest well and in peace…

A lot of private schools prefer to deal with punishments in-house, so as not too make it a big deal for the victims, but still have a big affect on the perpetrators…

“I would really like to hear a lot more about that, if you would give me the chance to listen,” Giles said to me, and I just shrugged my shoulders, just as the Study Prep came to a close for the night. My second night at the boarding house was uneventful, and as I settled into my bed to go to sleep, the sound of a loud bell began to sound, and soon we heard Lenn and the other prefects shouting out loud. “This is a fire drill, file out of the building quietly and calmly, remain as a group an

Travels outside of India you mean. He hasn’t been back to Tibet since escaping from there during the Chinese invasion.

After a short walk, I found a place where there is a large tree and it was well away from any noises coming from around the school or the streets surrounding it, and I sat down and crossed my legs, closed my eyes and started my breathing exercises, to try and get into a good frame of mind for some peaceful meditation. A few minutes later, I heard approaching footsteps, and I hoped that I would not have to stop my meditation session, as I listened, and when I heard the person sit and struggl

“Hamilton sir, Christopher Hamilton,” I responded nervously, “Ah yes, the one we have to keep quiet about, ok you are quarters are upper floor, East wing, and you are in Room E19 Bed A,” the staff member said to me, “1st Floor East, Room 19 A, got it, thankyou sir,” I replied. “You will be sharing with a lad in your same year, Giles Kent, he has been a boarder here for a few years so he will be able to show you around,” the staff member added, “Thankyou sir,” I replied, as I was handed a sh

I looked at the email to check for any errors, and five minutes later, after searching and locating the right email address, I clicked send, not really knowing why I had sent this email to a representative of Buddha, his Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet. My first visit to the Meditation Centre in Snug, was a very relaxing and enjoyable time, with Aunty Grace keeping at a distance as an observer, as I went through my meditation session, with the two monks and the rest of the Tibetan Buddhist

Although I was born in the small town of Maydena in Tasmania, Australia, from the age of just two years, my home has been over 6,000 kilometres away from the nearest point of Australia, where my father – Dr Christopher Hamilton works as at a local hospital and my mother – Anne works as a teacher and nurse. For me, I grew up speaking four foreign languages, Dzongkha, Tibetan, Nepali and Hindi, while I only speak English at home with the family. My home where I have grown up, is in the Buddhi

Born in the small town of Maydena in Tasmania, Australia, from the age of just two years, my home is over 6,000 kilometres away where I have grown up, in the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan. My full name, is Dechen Christopher Yeshe Hamilton. We have our main home in the capital of Thimbu, where we live for seven months from in the late autumn, winter and early spring, and for the rest of the time, for five months, we live in the northern Himalayan mountains, where my parents work to provide medical care and assist with education of the children in the remote of villages of Bhutan.

The following morning, I attended court, having a closer view of the film crew for the first time, and after the Police Prosecutor read out the charges and read out my statement, I was asked if I wanted to make any further statement. I said to the magistrate that I apologised for any stress or fright caused by the release of the cattle from the yards, by one of my staff. I continued by stating, that the purpose of the quarantine station was to locate and remove any harmful diseases from cat
