Wow, they're releasing Trey so quickly? I have a feeling that the homecoming and reunion isn't going to be as smooth as Mark hopes. Trey could be dealing with PTSD as well as the disappointment of Mark not being there with his parents. Hopefully Trey's parents can help him past the disappointment before he gets home.
No, I don't think Merrick would have been kept out of that investigation, even if he wasn't allowed on Alectera. Merrick
does have a great team. It's going to be fun to write about them.
Thank you for your review and all of your support, Def. I appreciate it
You're welcome. As soon as I read it I could really see Merrick daydreaming about doing it. haha
Some of the Alecterans are not used to dealing with off-worlders and can't seem to hide their distaste. It's going to be an interesting journey for Merrick. J is going to have trouble not being there when Merrick puts himself in potential danger. I think someone is going to be stuck dealing with a cranky vampire.
thank you for your review and for your support. I love to read them.
I think Jenson does respect Merrick (or he would have argued about him going into the forest) but he also knows how hot-headed he has been around the Alecterans. Combine that with the pain, exhaustion and medications he's been given, he's reverted to being domineering and protective. Merrick is a strong man and, although he understood, he wasn't about to back down.
Thank you for another great review, Tim. Is it bad to say that I'm glad I can rile you up with this story?
Nurses are generally kind and compassionate people, but their first priority is to get the patient better, so curt and clever fit for who I pictured in my mind. i pleased you like her
Both fathers are worried about their sons. There are now a lot of people around who are on the hunt for answers. It should be an interesting ride
Thank you for another great review, Tim. I do love reading them
lol I think the plural is flauros (at least it is in my head lol) I like writing Merrick and Audra together. They're very close and very protective of each other... but they also love to tease each other.
As for how the flauros got through? The three rushed the same spot together before splitting off. It was enough of a distraction that one managed to slip past the drones.
About the blood? I think I address that in Chapter 19. lol
Thank you for your review and all of your support, Tim. I appreciate it.
It might sound cliche, but we should live our lives as if we don't have tomorrow. Enjoy what we have now. I've had my children lose friends, and I've lost too many family members that I know life can be fleeting. All of that being said, I'm not sure many of are actually ready when the time comes.
Thank you, Dugh. It makes me very happy that you are enjoying the story and lets you escape into another world. It can be good to do that sometimes. I hope I can keep you just as entertained for the rest of the journey.
thank you again for your review and your support. I truly appreciate it.
lol yes, well sometimes people don't take their own advice, right? I seriously doubt Audra would be allowed to land a shuttle on the planet, much less walk out of it. She's already made an impression on the Alecteran powers that be. lol
Thank you for the great review and your support, B. I appreciate it
Thank you, Gary  Merrick wants answers and now he's officially in charge of getting them. I'm not sure how Jenson will deal with not being there.
Thank you again for your great reviews and all of your support, Gary.
I agree. It's probably not gong to be pretty. I think J is going to have trouble staying home while Merrick puts himself in danger.
Thank you for your support and your review. I appreciate it
Thank you, Drew! I have so much going through my mind about the investigation. I just have to get it written down and in some form that makes sense. haha.
Thank you for reading and for all of your support. I appreciate it
Chapter 19
It'd been hours since Jenson had gone into surgery, and Merrick still hadn’t received any news. Both of their fathers had arrived a few hours before, and were currently sitting in a nearby office with him. Merrick had filled them in on everything that had transpired, including his suspicions about the Alecteran delegates. The Anglian ship had also brought two of his security team, Kalen Sota and Landin Maltoran, who accompanied his father as his security detail. Both Kalen and
Wow. That was an amazing and intense first chapter. You can really pack a punch in a few thousand words, Gary. I can't wait to read more.. about Craig's loss and how he's tried to move on, about Jared's feelings, what Craig's mother knows, Carly's reaction, where they go from here. Seriously, this was incredible. I can't wait for more.
Thank you, LadyDe. I'm happy you enjoyed it The next chapter is almost done, so it shouldn't be too much longer.
Thank you for reading and leaving a review. I really appreciate it
You do have a way with words... even if it's two words at a time. Each pair meant something... a different aspect of life and coping. I have no idea what form it is... I don't particularly care. I just truly enjoyed it.
Hahaha the image of that in my mind is priceless! Merrick is more of a doer than a thinker, so we'll see how he reacts when faced with someone he thinks hurt J.
I'm incredibly pleased that you enjoyed the chapter. The fact that you think it increased the tension is a great compliment, thank you.
I hate 'liking' chapters like this... I admire your courage and strength to get this out and try to purge it from your system, but I don't 'like' what happened to you. I think it would be hard for anyone to come to terms with a parent who just doesn't care. As a parent I don't understand what your father did to you... how any parent can do that to their child, but sadly I know it happens. It's good that you do have a family and a husband now who loves you, but I understand that no amount of love will ever take away the fact that the man who should have been your first defence against the world failed you so miserably and was the cause of so much of your pain. I hope that with your writing it can help you, not to forget, but to allow you to relegate what happened to your past.
I'm writing as fast as I can. Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend, so I'm replying to reviews during a coffee break. lol
I don't think whoever brought the flauros to the planet realized who they were dealing with.
thank you for your review and your support, Def. I appreciate it
Thank you, tim. I'm so pleased you found the scenes natural and real. I know the subject matter is fantastical, but I wanted to keep my characters, and the surroundings as realistic as I could.
thank you for your review and your support, tim. I appreciate it
Thank you, Gary. I appreciate all of the support you've given me during my growing pains as a writer. My goal is to be as real as I can be (well as real as space faring vampires will ever be ) so I'm pleased that seems to be carrying through in the chapters.
Thank you again, my friend, for all of your support and your wonderful reviews. I enjoy reading each of them.
