  1. Sorry... I meant third week.
  2. Hello, B! Congrats on your first week!
  3. Yup, but it ended well enough.
  4. The Boroughs, on Netflix is awesome!
  5. I can neither confirm nor deny anything.
  6. Y'all are so suspicious. I can almost guarantee there ain't no cliffs on the trail. As far as Rob... Glad you liked the contrast, Doc. Albert bought the land for grazing cattle, but the mines have caught his attention. Greedy men are never satisfied. Thanks for sharing, buddy.
  7. I binge-watched Boots on Netflix.... so good!
  8. Aww... that's... oh, never mind.
  9. Exactly right. Albert is stupid enough to think that because Rob is the eldest son, he deserves to inherit. A genius would see August is more deserving, and less likely to fuck it all up. We all know that, when standing toe to toe, August pulled one over on dear old dad. I am relying on karma... and the sooner the better. Oh, Lord! I am relying on karma!
  10. Happy Wednesday, folks. And to those down under, happy whatever day.
  11. Aw, come on! Drew might be an annoying little git with an ego the size of Australia, but he is pretty.
  12. Oh, and I think those old mines are something he sees as a chance to prove others wrong. He doesn't need more wealth, but he craves people thinking he is a genius to make something out of nothing. I actually felt myself sitting at his desk as I wrote this, and picturing him as a miser counting his money... with visions of gold surrounding him. Does that sound familiar.
  13. He considers himself a king until he dies. Sound familiar?
  14. Great introduction, GeeTwo! Welcome to GA, and good luck with your creative rebirth. Cheers! Gary
  15. Thank you, neilglen! Yes, this is a turning point in the story, and hopefully we can leave all the angst regarding Albert behind. Fingers crossed. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and I hope you continue to enjoy this little tale. Cheers... Gary....
  16. Yeah, maybe so. It can be frustrating to post a story. You get what you get, and you never know who you will reach... or if a story will be liked enough to comment on or recommend. All I can do is just keep plugging away. Thanks for the support, Patrick.
  17. Lol. I think this shows us what an opportunistic man Albert is. He has no one he trusts, so he leaves no stone unturned. He believes he is smarted than everyone else, but we know he is not. It is clear he is never satisfied, and dreams of more and more riches. It's a good lesson for August, and an example of what not to be. Thanks, buddy.
  18. Thanks, buddy, and no worries. I appreciate you fitting the story in (hope all went well with the dental surgeon). Happy Holidays to you and hubby.
  19. It was nice to see August be surrounded by loving people, wasn't it? Maybe he lost his place in a world he knew, but he has found another, better one. Willy James is one of those characters who worms his way into people's hearts without having to work at it. In my mind, his parents are more concerned about impressing their preacher than their son's well being. That happens when you put your god fearing reputation first. Religion has led people by the nose for many centuries. Don't get me started. Anyway, he has friends who care about him, and a good man who loves him. Fingers crossed that Runyan plays it smart. Thank you my dear friend. I appreciate you and your support so much. Cheers!
