Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Headstall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Lol. You'll get plenty more next week, buddy. Is it mean to say I like tormenting readers just a little? Just so you know, Jubal doesn't need a haircut. I'm sure plenty of readers would like to be a fly on the wall of that cabin, but where's the fun in that? Thanks for your kind encouragement as always, dear friend.- 80 comments

Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Headstall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Yes, most definitely, Doc. I've given haircuts and beard trims before... I'm pretty good with clippers. Yeah, there is tension... tension between Lucas and Jubal... and tension between Lucas and Reid. Jubal has learned to not trust his perceptions, but we readers see more than he does. I think that filly comment flew right over his head because he won't entertain any possibilities. It's hard to dissect Reid... his is being pushy, but why? He's nice to Jubal, but even Jubal can see he is hiding something. It's not that he is being fake, I don't believe, but something has him bothered. Despite trying to stay cocooned, Jubal has still learned to read Lucas--and could to a point even form the beginning--so I think we can trust that Lucas is plenty annoyed with Reid showing up. The thing is, why is Reid still hanging around? Thanks, my friend. You'll have a lot more to read next week.- 80 comments

Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Headstall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Lol. You could be right, buddy, but I doubt Jubal would make any overt moves. Still, there is a lot to be said for companionship, and I think they both feel that. For my money, I could eat later... Lucas is definitely tastier. Salivary glands? Sure. We all know what you're thinking because we're all thinking it too. Thank you for your support, my friend.- 80 comments

Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Headstall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Thanks, Swordcane! Glad you're enjoying it. It sure seems like Lucas and Reid once had more than friendship, but we'll see. Lucas is a lot more open than Jubal, and I think Jubal is afraid to look too closely at what he sees... other than Lucas's pretty face. Seriously, though, I think it's safe to say Jubal has been through some tough times, and has learned to be cautious. Sometimes that can save your life. Appreciate hearing from you... and look forward to it again. Cheers! Gary....- 80 comments

Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Headstall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 11 A Gentle Touch
Hey, Bill! It must have been a powerful thing to groom the man Jubal is so attracted to. Such temptation, yet he cannot let go his feeling of needing to hide. All in all, still a good sharing, and then Reid shows up. The man does not have the best timing. Glad you found the chapter beautiful. Without going into much detail, I like showing that they could eat well back then. Most folk where very knowledgeable about plants and the flavors they held. I've had grouse, and it is a tasty bird, very different from chicken. Thanks so much for the kind comment, my friend. Next chapter is a double. Cheers!- 80 comments

Finally got the new chapter ready and posted. It's hard when you don't feel your best...

Hey, Colin! I love hearing when people reread this story. It still ranks as my favorite. I'm posting a new story at the moment, called "Bearpaw: An Old West Tale", if you are interested. I must ask, have you left a Story Like for Morningstar on the front story Page? It's just a click, and it would be very much appreciated if you haven't. You could give a Story Recommendation too... another couple of clicks... A Story Review would be wonderful as well, and needn't be much more than saying you enjoyed it. I know some readers get annoyed when I ask, but as an author, I have to try. All these things bring new readers and support for my endeavors, and that helps make my efforts worthwhile... and helps inspire me to keep writing. Cheers and thanks... Gary....

A Gentle Touch It be a new day, and after working much of the morning setting posts for new corrals, they were taking a break so Lucas could show Jubal more of the farm. The orchard might not look impressive yet, but it surely would in a year or two. The smaller trees appeared healthy for having been dug up and moved, and that spoke to Lucas’s knowledge for transplanting. Like Lucas had said, some of the young ones already carried fruit. They were on the far side of his p

I've only read one so far, @astone2292,s superb tale. Highly recommend it. Will try to read more next week, after I get my next chapter ready and posted.

That looks awesome, Albert!

Yeah, I've been feeling poorly for quite a while, and just got treated with antibiotics for Lyme Disease as a precaution while I wait for blood work results. My doc says the blood test sucks, and almost always come back negative even when positive. Said it also could have been covid... possibly long covid... in other words, no idea. Feeling better than I was, though. Not great, but better. Had bad body aches, headaches, heart palpitations, shortness of breath and very low energy, and all that has improved.

A western? Cool!

Two thumbs up. We all need a little magic in our lives, and Aaron delivers in this tale. Beautifully crafted with great skill, it gives us a glimpse into a dynamic world that tickles our imaginations as it leaves us satisfied. Read this!

Well done, Aaron. I enjoyed this immensely... first thing I've read in quite a while. Loved the concept and the characters! I like how you played with a familiar supernatural world and made it refreshingly your own. The 'monogamy', for example was a nice touch, showing how these beings have absorbed a typically human behavior... translation... love. It was funny, a little edgy and sinister, yet eased into a romantic tale that left me smiling. Demons aren't so bad, and I appreciated the 'grace'. I can see more of this world in your future. There is lots to delve into here. Thanks for this! Cheers... Gary....

Steady improvement, thanks. Slept well for the first time in ages.

Morning/evening, all!

You were supposed to build an outhouse.

Just got back from my walk and my shortness of breath was a fair bit better.

Is that the truth... or the Drewth? Anyways, Jubal is busy building stuff, and you would be a distraction.
