Thanks, Terry. Great words to hear. Nature can often repair my soul when it gets tattered by life. I loved being brought back to this little collection. I needed them on this fine, sunny day.
Thank you. A lot of my poems spring from those feelings we have upon awakening. I believe this was one of those. I often lay and listen to the sounds of nature through my windows... they open with just a fingertip, and let whatever thoughts I carried through the night, roam freely. The Thailand people sound wonderful... and welcoming. I'm glad you have found your home, Terry.
I think a deal has already been worked out for Sweden.
Edit: Just checked and Turkey and Hungary are still dragging their feet... hopefully a deal will be worked out.
Smart! That's exactly what I do. I am forever running to get my journal to jot down notes, phrases, combinations that please me, something I saw... something I felt etc. Other times I jot down a verse that comes to me out of the blue. I have many many poems I have never published. Poetry is like a muscle that needs flexing... the more you write, the more your mind opens to the process.
I'd forgotten about this one. I'm pleased you got the message. This one was fun for me, yet it has great meaning for those who struggle to force things that just won't go. We do our best and the satisfaction comes with knowing that.
I like Contemplations. It is much lighter than laments. You would not believe what I had to do to keep robins from building a nest up in the corner of my back verandah. They were persistent bastards, and somehow knew I wouldn't hurt them. Doors was giving myself a pep talk of sorts. Writing about nature and the changing seasons always lift me up. Thanks for reading and commenting, buddy. Keep writing your poetry now that you've started. Cheers! G.
It's a very special poem, Terry. It puts a smile on my face as the memories awaken my heart when I read it. My life comes down to these four children, and there are no regrets for how my life turned out. I have been blessed.
