  1. That is comforting to hear. It was a lonely, depressing time, but at least something good came out of the pandemic for me.
  2. Happy Sunday/Monday, all!
  3. @Bucket1 I nervously scrolled, worried for worse on your nephew. So glad he really is okay.
  4. Woot! Congrats, Terry. Can't wait to read them.
  5. Well, these were laments of a sort. Lamenting to the moon for a want, and lamenting to the wind to take away the stifling heat that stills life. We poets have license. It's interesting what you say about Larkspur, Terry. Absolutely, the nature surrounding me has inspired my writing, and I got to use that in the Sidewinder series. It's funny, but when someone mentions Larkspur, I smile broadly. What a tremendous journey it was for me. Cheers!
  6. Thanks, Terry! Yeah, I co-opted Cookie's lament. She sure keeps me busy. Cheers!
  7. A fine compliment, indeed. Thanks, my friend.
  8. Yeah, until the next time. Thanks, Terry. Poetry has been a savior at times... times when I can't speak the words in any way other than in writing. Appreciate you reading my poetry.

    Chapter 16 Vote

Thanks, Terry. I get terribly frustrated at how wrong is confused with right. That frustration is born out of a deep fear that has been deeply imbedded in me from early on. I was always on guard for things going backwards, but that doesn't mean I was ready for it. People's rights are being trampled on, and only 'people' can change that.
  10. Like seeing the poet banner, Terry. Congrats on taking the plunge!
  11. Still pouring cold rain here. I like rain, but not this kind.
  12. ... and that's the Drewth.
  13. Same here! I just walked through another storm and am soaked to the skin...and cold!
  14. Happy Saturday/Sunday, all.
  15. Oh... spaghetti bolognese sounds amazing. I am determined to lose all my pandemic pounds, so no pasta and meat sauce for me. I am doing well, though.
  16. That is fantastic!! If I inspired you, I am proud!
  17. Sweet dreams, Terry.
  18. I suppose you are. I should just point out that "Lyrical Lamentations", as the name suggests, tends to be colored darkly, so keep that in mind, buddy. "Headstall's Reflections" and "Cozy Contemplations" shows a more balanced poet I think. But yeah, I can't write poetry that isn't honest, so if that exposes stuff that is uncomfortable, so be it. I had a great but flawed mother, and am thankful for her, but there is so much of my childhood that tested me because of damage done by my bio dad that spread throughout my entire family. I wouldn't wish it on any child, and maybe it is why I am the father I am. I tend to excuse things from those times in my everyday approach to life, but in poetry or in dreams, not so much. This journey I am taking with you, as hard as it is to revisit, is likely good for me, and I thank you for that.

    Chapter 15 Stark

Of course I want to hear your thoughts. I'm glad you found some humor here. Many childhood fears that show up in dreams are unfounded, but unfortunately mine weren't. Still, there is such a relief to know 'it was just a dream' that I would laugh in relief. I want people to relate to my poems, but only in their own way, so thanks for this, buddy.
