  1. Mine was many, many years ago, before I fully accepted who I was, and yeah, it was agonizing. I did my best to bury it, and I did eventually, but.... I am really happy for you, buddy. Finding a 'real sweetheart' isn't as easy as it should be.
  2. Awesome! So do I. This (and the sequel) have become my go to stories before bedtime. Yes, I reread my own stuff.
  3. Hell on earth... yeah, definitely, Doha. The ache is constant, and you don't feel whole.
  4. I think he means Paxlovid. It is an antiviral that acts like a protease inhibitor similar to the HIV one. Has to be given within about five days of infection. It works... reduces severity.
  5. Lol. It's a political term the right uses for anyone on the left... and anything progressive. Sad, really.
  6. It's an awesome song. Are your gall bladder issues resolved, Cassie?
  7. They are getting their friendship back, and I think both are enjoying the others company again, but there is still a lot to be settled. Where will Coy go once they reach their destination? We know that is what Boone has on his mind. Right now, there is a kind of dance going on. We'll see if your Yay! Is warranted. Cheers and thanks, buddy. I'm enjoying this. G.
  8. Walked 5K today. It was raining for part of it, but it wasn't too bad. I can smell spring.
  9. I know what you mean. I had it, and it is a scary thing.
  10. Thanks, Ford! Appreciate the check in. I guess any chapter could be considered drama free after a cliff literally falls out from under the main character. But, I agree with you. There really is a lot going on in this one, and it is about their interacting. We know without a doubt Boone loves Coy, but it is hard to know where Coy stands. One thing for sure, Coy is undergoing some sort of change. I'm sure being out from his evil brother's influence is allowing him to be more himself. We shall see. So glad you are loving my little western, buddy... I've kinda been reading along with you. Cheers and thanks... Gary....

    Chapter 4 Lawman

Hey, Ford48! Welcome to GA. "Our Bar" surprised me with the great reception it received, but it is a personal favorite of mine, so it makes me happy to hear you enjoyed it. "Sidewinder", and it's sequel, are more favorites of mine. These books were my first attempts at writing a multi chapter western after having written a short called 'Finding Refuge". It is 13,000 words and stirred up a fair bit of interest for a normally less than popular genre. I was raised on westerns, and I have since found it a rewarding genre to dip my toes in. I worked hard on getting the dialect right, and my research was extensive for that time period. Despite being uncertain at the beginning, comments like this have instilled confidence that I got it right. Cheers and happy reading, and please keep me posted when you can. I love hearing a reader's thoughts on the chapters as they progress through the story. Gary.
  12. I had two lovely walks today, and just finished eating two cabbage rolls. It is unseasonably warm and sunny.
  13. Happy Tuesday, all!
  14. WTF? You are going to burst into flames one day, buddy.
  15. I thought the French method involved tongue.
  16. Another gorgeous, sunny day. Heading out for my 4K walk, just me and Preston my walking stick.
  17. @Albert1434 I just checked and the results will be released tomorrow, on Valentine's day.
  18. Lots of good stories by different authors.
  19. You mean the final results? I don't think you can see them yet. The voting closes today for the 'First Love' category, so maybe soon after??
  20. Happy Monday, all!
  21. Hey, Terry. I'm glad you found the humor in this, and I was fortunate enough to find one too, but age and time and location conspired against us. Life is about getting up and moving forward and making the hard choices, and the truth I live with is... that it is better to have loved and lost... than never to have loved at all. Thanks, buddy.
