  1. Readers should heed the warnings, but there is honesty here in this poem, and for me, that is what poetry is often about. Baring your soul, being vulnerable, exposing your perceived weaknesses... that can be a painful thing, but a purging one. Thanks for this. Cheers!

  2. I believe kids are a wonderful legacy, but I get what you are saying. Many times I have told myself one day at a time until new strength comes. That can turn into many days, but I trust in what I know. I understand feeling powerless, but I hope you come to learn that just isn't true. We all have power, and you for example, have the power of words. Accepting help tells me you are on the right track and I wish you all the best. Your poem is disturbing for sure, but it has great value, and is one I will read a few more times. Depression is a living thing, and heads in sand do nothing for anyone but ostriches... if even then. Thanks for sharing. Cheers! Gary

    No More Words

I found myself relating more and more with each word read. Sometimes I wonder if we ever really learn, but a test I had recently tells me we do. Great poem with a good cadence, sad but with a stark honesty I appreciated. You used 'words' in the verses well. Cheers!
  5. A fascinating premise for this poem. Check it out.

    Selection

Nature, of which we are a part of, is wonderful chaos that needs not make sense to mere mortals living in the moment. We only need appreciate how intricate life is, its differences belying the notion diversity in life is somehow wrong. No, it is the key! Nature must be viewed through millennia to see the full beauty and rage of it. I absolutely loved your final verse. There is a satisfying bite to it, yet the message soothes as we absorb it. As beings brougth into the chaos, we do not ask, we receive. Ah... sorry... too much? Well done, Parker.

    Chapter 1

"with a keen eye for pests that fester, he mocks the elite never polite, like an unashamed bullshit tester." Great summation of an intriguing man, an artiste. Is jester's license the same as poetic license? Thank you for the link, Adi. Knowing the background and inspiration for this poem makes it all the more powerful. One man, one 'jester' can send shockwaves through an evil, unbalanced world. #4 is an example of a smattering of words having great impact. Bravo! "Ode to Red". I miss my belly being kneaded to the sounds of contentment and my own hisses at gentle clawing. Loved this one! Enjoyed your snippets. Are there still parasols in use? This brings to mind Monet's "Woman with a Parasol", an absolutely gorgeous painting. Thanks for this lovely, evocative journey, my friend. Cheers!
