  1. Thank you, CG! Well, the one good thing about Donny is that he seems to be pushing David toward 'know thyself' rather quickly. At least he seems to be advancing his agenda faster than Matty ever did, haha.
  2. Thanks for the comments, jess! Not-gay David isn't ready for gay yet, but is probably reaady for not-straight. David is about to sense what you have about the Dr. Keating consultations, which will lead him into a fit of depression. Luckily, for the short term, Twoey and Donny, Donny!, Donny!!! will distract him.
  3. Thank you, Hunter! Actually, 13 days, which is even more worrisome. David listens to Dr. Keating, but seems to act independently of the advice. A character flaw or raging hormones? The deadline takes on an even stranger possible meaning after chapter 110.
  4. Thank you lux! David/Donny: someone will get hurt, but will it be one of them? Twoey has a few paddles he doesn't know about yet, but soon will.
  5. Our damaged hero, David (from the previous entry and from "18 Weeks of Twoey"), is near the end of his journey. He has become convinced he will be sent away to an insane asylum in two weeks. He wrote this, in despair, as he considered his fate. Gone from sight Locked away Gone from thought Far away Gone from life Cast away
  6. Yes! A great story and greatly missed. Now Corbin, jeez! Sit down and think.

    Chapter 9

Aw! I was hoping Travis would walk in, see Jerry about to throw a punch, and defend Dorian. But then, he'd probably have just joined in. I think maybe (hope maybe? desperately hope maybe?) Dorian is quickly approaching a defining moment in his life. Interesting chapter, Ron.
  8. Wow! An awful lot in this chapter, Tim! The nasty neighbor got put in her place very nicely. That was certainly good to read. The total dedication Patrick showed to Peter and Michael, by closing to be with them during the difficult time ahead, was also good to read. Fiona's visit leaves the only little mystery for us, and can't wait to get to that. btw you've mischievously dragged that out for enough chapters to make us scream "get them together, already!" But then, who am I to complain about that. Thanks for sharing this with us!

    Chapter 16

It's good that Devin was able to explain Sean to Bryce, even though the circumstances were so frightening for him. At least Bryce got to see the damage first hand. It will surely go a long way toward a mutual understanding, and that can only be good. It will probably be good for Devin too, to begin to move past this little barrier. All in all, a good chapter for Devin and Bryce!
  10. A great chapter and great honor! I had a feeling that's what the envelope was, at the end of the last chapter. I must have that Spidey-sense too ...haha.
  11. The worst loneliness is not to be comfortable with yourself. - Mark Twain *** I woke up earlier than usual. I guess my subconscious mind had been churning. At least it didn’t curse me with a dream, but with a nagging thought. I knew exactly who I needed to ask for help. After my shower, I sat naked on my bed and started to meditate. It didn't take me long to arrive at my healing place and meet Danny again, who was soon on my lap. “Can you help me with this worry I’m having abo
  12. Thanks CG! Sorry about your experiences, both in real life and in reading. Maybe David will get it turned around. He seems to have dismissed his father, much like you have. Without needing to rely on him, hopefully he's find someone more reliable. But it might get worse before it gets better.
  13. Thanks geoff! I think we can agree the end-of-Erik is approaching. Maybe the slap will really have been a good thing--for Twoey.
  14. Thanks Def! David, trust issues?? Maybe David's dreams tell us more about him than HE does with his narration. And everything IS out of order, which, to an in-control person, must seem very unsettling.
  15. Thanks spikey! If it's any consolation, David seems to have dismissed his father. Will he start calling him "the man who lives in my house?" Not ALL Twoey's friends are gonna sit around wringing their hands. Thank God.
  16. Thank you Parker! The slap may actually, ultimately have been good for Twoey--details on Saturday. David isn't finished with disturbing dreams.
  17. Thanks lux! David will have more exams tomorrow than he anticipates! Dr. Keating's solution might actually end up hurting David in ways he can't understand.
  18. Thanks jess! Yes, the real Erik--shudder Has Donny added a new runner in the race to Dec. 31? Maybe he'll be the dark horse who wins.
  19. Thanks Tim! Erik seems to have that little reaction down pat, doesn't he?
  20. Well that was a job-interview-supposed-happy-surprise-turned-sour, wasn't it? But at least he got a pretty good job. But I agree with sparky (OMG did I just write that?). Mike not paying attention to what was surely the biggest day in David's life in quite a while, especially knowing how nervous and panicky he gets, was just cold. There's definitely something not-good going on here.

Thanks AC! That's an interesting observation! Maybe Toph is slow? He needs these cycles of affirmations, like waves washing up on the beach before he notices there is a shore? But he had a Euphoric education! However, he does seem to see his love for Gary as somehow not yet proven. Maybe he needs to ask Gary about those other 'chosen' ones first? Resolve the mother issue first? Get Gary to commit to him more fully first? There is some interesting baggage standing next to the General on the platform, waiting for the Toph love-express to arrive!

    Chapter 8

Dorian is in a terrible bind, but has no real friends to help him through. They're not friends because they don't understand him, and don't seem to try. So, without friends, Dorian will need to do a crash course in independence, if he is to survive. Right now we've only seen his problems mount. He needs to reach inside himself and start knocking some of them down. I have a feeling he will.

Thank you CG! I liked your comparison of the cleared room and Toph's cleared mind. The Texas boy's picture will soon be described. As far as their story, you'll need to wait for the final chapter--I think--said the dragon, coyly. New Glory escaped the ravages that have befallen many small towns, your hometown too, it seems. I think it's even worse when a big city spreads into an established town, which then becomes a bedroom community. Once the only way to travel is by car, all local businesses dry up and the evils of Walmart like institutions ravage the peace, independence and security of those once proud towns. End of rant.

Thanks spikey! You're right, the 'planning' aspect is refreshing in Toph. That's a sign of maturity. The panic of the pre-vacation was certainly a sign of immaturity. Toph is clearly in an accelerating fall into love and, as you noted, Gary appears to be too. It isn't all there yet though and, believe it or not, Toph seems to know that as well. His questioning whether to ask Gary about previous 'chosen' ones betrays that.

Thank you jess! And thank you for you kind words. Skinny, deliberate? Toph is certainly changing. Sometimes it is very subtle and for some readers, agonizingly slow. But Toph is who he is and we can't change it, no matter how much we disparage him.
