  5. hello Sirs and everyone @kbois i hope that it's not as predicted for you we were supposed to get rain all afternoon, all we have is nasty humidity we did hit the farmers market. the tomatoes were fabulous! i got some Roma and some cherry tomatoes. the Roma's will go into some beef picadillo, and i'll eat the cherry ones, lol! i also got some cucumbers, carrots, a cabbage and 3 really nice leeks. i'm going to cook the carrots with a roast chicken, the cabbage and leeks with some sausages. i hope everyone has had a nice day
  6. hello Sirs and friends i took the day off to give myself a long weekend! i'm about to go run some errands, maybe buy some new slippers, the new ceramic tiles are hard on bare feet AND since all the renovations are done i'm pulling out the needle work to get started again (claps gleefully, lol) when you have a day off, one that you don't have any "adulting" to do, what do you like to do for you? i hope everyone is able to overcome whatever rough patches get thrown in your way today

    The Date

this was a particularly fun story for me. while our twins are not same gender, the interaction between Charlie & Steve made me chuckle. i know i've heard similar conversations, lol! i was happy that Charlie trusted his brother in this. and that Ley was open to it. and i echo Wayne's comment about the final words in that last scene. i hear it every time i read it. nicely done xo
  10. O Canada! Where pines and maples grow. Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow. How dear to us thy broad domain, From East to Western Sea, Thou land of hope for all who toil! Thou True North, strong and free! God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada! Beneath thy shining skies May stalwart sons and gentle maidens rise, To keep thee steadfast through the years From East to Western Sea, Our own beloved native land! Our True North, strong and free! God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. Ruler supreme, who hearest humble prayer, Hold our dominion within thy loving care; Help us to find, O God, in thee A lasting, rich reward, As waiting for the Better Day, We ever stand on guard. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. Happy Canada Day! as a hockey fan, i'm familiar with the first verse. had no clue it was 4 verses! as for the affirmation, that is also something i work hard at have a good day everyone

  20. This has been a long, weird week. Am i glad it's over? Well that's a loaded question. Last Monday the process of getting new flooring started. See, the landlady is having tile floors installed. Phil & the boys were shifting furniture around the house each day. It's an enormous mess & stressful for me to be in such a chaotic environment. i have an online class i'm taking & with the mess at home i've had to find other places to do that. Luckily, we have a great coffee shop in town that has fast WiFi. At work, there is more change. Two of my favorite co-workers are leaving. One is retiring. i am so happy for him, but dread losing him as a teammate. The other one was poached by one of my best clients. He's been with us since he graduated from University. He was a manager and we have no one internally who can take on that role. We'll manage of course, but he was a big part of our recent successes. So, Friday was emotional to say the least. The tiling crew, two guys, finished late Saturday afternoon. We worked until 8 or 9 putting things away. For the first time since Monday night, everyone was in their own beds. Today, i went thru a box of Swiffer dusters cleaning. There is dust everywhere! i have swept the floors and lightly mopped them to get grout residue off them. We are grateful to have the landlady we do, & the floors look nice. But it took a toll on all of us. Yesterday would have been my nephew's 21st birthday. i called my brother to tell him they were in my thoughts. it was a hard conversation. What do you say in those situations? Lastly, today is the anniversary of my mom's passing. i have missed her. much more than i thought i would. i talked to my dad & my sister today. They both sounded rough. For the first time in a long time, i wanted to be with my sister. So, yeah. A weird week. As for being glad it's over, i think i am. thanks for reading
  21. i'm always happy to read for you it's a wonderful experience and i've learned from it as well.💛 if i were to make rainbow waffles, i might just use rainbow sprinkles. the only other alternative seems to be different colors of batter in piping bags and that would be an almighty pain. 🙄
  22. i was pleasantly surprised to see these two guys again! i'm glad they're doing OK and the farm is getting noticed for what they offer. and Henry is a new hero. we need more people to stand up like he did. now.... rainbow waffles 🌈...where is my waffle iron 🍴
  23. @Kitt it's been a strange week and it's not quite over i'll be back more next week until then, take care
