Another toby hater! Liam is a little weary of the whole Mandy situation, we’ll just have to see how it plays out 🙂 thanks for for reading and commenting! Reading comments is my favourite part of sharing this story

Thank you! Yes, Liam is very lucky to have the dad he has. So so many people weary of Toby! I guess we’ll have to see how it plays it out! and Liam’s age, he’s 17 almost 18, Toby is only a year and a halfish older than him, I don’t see that as a huge problem. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.

Thanks for your comment! It’s nice to hear my characters inner dialogue is relatable, even if it isn’t something we wish we didn’t relate to.

Thank you for your comment! I know how Liam feels too, it’s not pleasant! Thanks for continuing to read.

Wow, so much happening in this chapter, thankfully there seems to be more good than bad for our young protagonist. Two new dads and a new boyfriend! How exciting. The leukemia thing kind of sucks but hopefully just lab error. I look forward to finding out.

Chapter 8 Wow. Toby Bennett kissed me. Like actually kissed me. My brain kicked in after about 20 seconds and I managed to kiss him back. Wow. To say I was confused is an understatement. I didn’t want the moment to end, but it had to. “Whoa, what was that?” I asked, still in a state of disbelief and shock. “A kiss.” Toby replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “Yeah, I figured that part out, but why?” “I don’t know. I just wanted to. Since you’re

I just saw this comment now. Thank you. I know you didn’t ask for sympathy, but I am sorry for your losses. I lost a brother too and it sucks.

What a great idea, two characters each written by a different author! It makes it so much more...authentic. Can’t wait to read more!

Hmm, used to live next door? And he’s catching mr. C looking at him funny. And drew and mr. C are arguing? Hmm he’s not his bio father is he? Maybe not, but there’s definitely some back story there! Looking forward to you revealing it at some point.

Chapter 7 The last few weeks of school passed by torturously slow. I operated on auto pilot, thankfully sports were done for the year and I didn’t have to try and fake it through them. My parents seemed worried about me, my dad especially. He was often trying to get me to talk to him, he was never pushy but he did make sure I knew he was available, it made me feel worse. He had enough to deal with and didn’t need all of my problems on top of everything else. Graduation wa

You're right! Liam is a wreck right now! That is the perfect way to describe him! Unfortunately sometimes life sucks! Luckily it never lasts forever 🙂

Chapter 6 I arrived at Toby’s parents house on Sunday around 6 p.m. with my parents. Toby’s parents were one of the wealthier in our little town, Dr. And Mrs.Bennett. Dr. Bennett was one of the town’s doctors, he ran a clinic and worked in the hospital, as many small town doctors do. Mrs. Bennett was a part time dental hygienist. Their house is what you would expect. Large and sprawling over an even larger lot, with an in-ground pool and guest house. Why any one would have an out

Thank goodness for Walter! I hope he does go home, maybe by now Sue has talked some sense in to Don. If if he is heading to a friends house, maybe it is Rory's? They've been pretty solid friends. I'm just glad he didn't end up on a train to Toronto. Can't wait till next chapter!

Thanks for the info Cia! You've always been super quick and it's never been a problem. I was just curious 🙂

Thanks! For some reason I thought it was 200 and couldn't find the answer 🙂

Chapter 5 The weekend passed by, Dylan, a friend from school dropped by with some of my missed assignments. All my teachers have been very understanding, giving me until the last day of school to have everything turned in. It occurred to me that that was only a few weeks away. I had been conditionally accepted to Branston University for next fall but I still had to keep my grades up or they could revoke my acceptance. I spent the day on Sunday with Dylan. We had been pretty good

Hi, I was just wondering when you are able to post a chapter or a story and have it show up right away and not await moderator approval? Thanks!

Thank you for posting this! It's nice to see what happened to him at the rehab place! And being there with Eli, I like the direction this is going in. -
Chapter 73 Brothers in Arms
Kjamieson commented on Dodger's story chapter in Chapter 73 Brothers in Arms
This is a good point. Don, from the beginning, was talking as if he knew that Robbie and Nathan were in a sexual relationship, but even Sue had no actual proof of this. Robbie had denied this just minutes before when questioned by Sue, but as good as confessed when interrogated by Don. There is a chance that Daniel may have said something to his dad, but it seems more likely that Don is treating the boy's relationship like it was some kind of extra-marital affair, something purely sexual. This obviously wasn't the case and Don's heavy handed approach didn't give Robbie the opportunity to explain this. Don asked 'how long it had been going on for' and Robbie replied 'two months' which was how long they had been dating. They really didn't have much of a sex life, but Don obviously believes that's all that they have been doing. Thank you @1brokNangelfor your comment. " I was wondering about that too. Because homosexual activity was de-criminalized in canada in 1969. Yes, the age of consent is 18 for Anal sex and 16 for oral and vaginal. There is a close in age rule that protects minors, as long as the minors are close in age, which Robbie and Nathan are it is not considered illegal. But I'm sure that was also partially just Don being angry and spouting off what ever he could to scare Robbie. -
Chapter 73 Brothers in Arms

Wow. That was heartbreaking! I didn't think Don would take it well, but that was just awful! And he really did say all the things he knew would hurt the most, bringing up his mum? That was just cruel. i feel so sad for Robbie! And he has no where to go. Daniel calling out his name as he ran past to his room, might mean Daniel is a little worried. He must have heard a lot of the yelling coming from Don. Maybe this episode will be the start of patching things up between them? oh, I hope someone (not Don) finds him and brings him home. -
Chapter four My parents were sitting on the couch together watching a movie when I got home. My mom paused it and invited me to come join them for a few minutes. “How was your day sweetie?” she asked. “It was good, we went up to devil’s pasture. We just sat by the river and talked.” “That sounds good son” My dad added. “You and Toby seem to be spending a lot of time together these past few days.” “Uh, yeah I guess so. It’s kinda nice having someone who gets it

So I read this on your website (along with most of your other stories, I think I only have 2 left to read) and I have to say, I find the journal format can either be done really well, or really poorly. But you knocked it out of the park! Great story.
