Preston, I'm really enjoying this story. I am not surprised that an inquisitive school kid would be listening at the door. The adventures of Mason and Isaac should get more and more interesting, with all the rumors which will be flying around the school as a result of the strange activities. However, 13.06 kilograms is less than 29 pounds in weight, so it would not take four students to carry the load -─ unless ─ extra weight is built into the crates to crates for misdirection. Also, it seems to me that Lucas is being overly open in revealing the identity of Mason to the Head Porter, even though the name of Mason was not mentioned. I'm guessing that Lucas is more used to the society of Sahndrol, which seems a bit less inclined to the subterfuge of earthly society. I look forward to seeing how the student listening at the keyhole is dealt with. As Benjamin Franklin said in the 1700s, in Poor Richard's Almanack, "Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead."

It is on another site. The main characters were Wiley Grace and Cameron Parker. The title of the story is "Almost Famous," and it was the last novel written by the late Ryan Bartlett. There are 19 chapters. The name of the site starts with the letter "d".

Actually, with Murcha and Onglet, they could go out to visit Haley's Comet without waiting for it be near to Earth again. And also Author's Day -- That's on November 1 every year.

Okay, Quokka, you have done it again. Once more, your stories are good enough to make me dig up my GA password and comment. I am really liking this story, and am wondering ir there is a chance that The Earl from another tale might show up, or Hamysh, or one or more of the Celtic Lads (such as Flynn, Amos, or Devon). But this tale stands well on its own, Well done.

@Myr, when do we get to read more of this great set of fantasy?

Geron, you keep coming up with surprises. What could be next? Ricky's younger brother or sister showing up suddenly? Maybe Ricky's younger sister becoming friends with Ronja somehow, and surprising Ricky and the boys greatly? Or maybe Ricky's younger sister has been having elf adventures of her own, with Keerby's girlfriend? (Use any of these suggestion if you desire, and no charge!) Seriously, I am even more of a fan of Uncle Bob than ever. And if Ricky's younger brother (from the third Charlie Boone tale) is anything at all like Ricky, he should have a big curiosity, and a great relationship with his Uncle Bob. Ronja is one of the few females mentioned so far in the Charlie Boone adventures. We saw quite a bit about Adrian's mother in an early story, and have seen Charlie's mother a few times, and learned a bit about Aunt Susan from references by Uncle Bob. Surely there are some colorful females on Engris which might make a cameo in a story? Great series. Now we need several more of you "Door" series, another of your "Thrift Shop" tales or three, and... and...

I have been enjoying this story. I don't always have my password handy so I can sign in and comment, but I do enjoy your stories.

I am enjoying this story. I look forward to how Tyler will be able to work with the older gentlemen in the partnership they are forming. Quokka, have you any idea yet how many chapters might be in the story?

When I was researching acronyms, I found two main meanings for FUBAR. The first was "F***ed Up Beyond All Repair." The second was "Fouled Up Beyond All Repair." I also read it first as fubar, then said to myself, "Look at that again. Something wrong with that interpretation." I like how Kippy and Adrian are continuing to develop skwish. I also would like to see Uncle Bob in the next space bound adventure. I think he and Ragal and Pacha would have a great time together, along with Casper and Keerby.

Now, there's a simpler way to handle the rescue/resolution. Pip has somehow been left behind. He recruits Zerfa, Mrs. P, and Derry's mother from the Door series, and somehow they figure out rescue techniques. Things are getting desperate... And I'm probably not any more serious than you are, but the imagination is fun!

I am almost certain the story you describe was on GA about 5 or six years ago. When you edited the original message to add more info, it pinged on my mental "storydar." If not, it was a story with many of the same details. Unfortunately, I cannot remember either author or tile yet. If I do, I will let you know.
-
Well, there is a simple way to handle that. Just work the Door #3 story into the the next picture challenge, and the next Charlie Boone story ALSO into the same picture challenge, and your next Charm story into that same picture challenge, and the sequel to "The Party of the Third Part," and . . . You get the idea. You get four or five stories stories written, with wildly differing interpretations of the same theme! Although, working the third Door story into the challenge might be a real challenge!

I greatly enjoyed this story. When does the sequel come out (hopefully right after the next Door story).

Well, they could do magic but not be super at it. If they were, say, a Level two user, as compared to Frit and Pip being Level 10 users, the Moth being Level 14 or 15, and Max being a Level 56 (If I am remembering correctly from a previous story)-- they would be power users, but not GOOD at it.
-
So, based on what Max said in this chapter, Charlie, Kippy, Ricky and Adrian will become power users? Since Charlie has a lot of the brains, Kippy has skwish, Ricky has the dagger and understands illusory magic, Adrian will become the first power user? Or it will be Adrian who first uses wish magic to wish for the ability to be a power user? Or will Bob Travers have a spark of power use within him already? Or, will Bobby and Mike pick some of it up from association with Pacha'ka?
-
@Geron Kees I notice this story is listed as "In Process." Are you going to post another set of chapters soon, or was that a minor oversight?
-
Kind of neat that Bobby's Grandma Sue showed up on Engris. And what @droughtquake said about the free fireworks-- My parents were that way as well. Also, @Geron Kees -- Will the Labor Day Charlie Boone story be about Charlie, Kippy, and company, along with Frit and Pip and Mike, Bobby, Pacha, Kontus, and some elves getting rid of the arsenal planet? Bob Travers (Uncle Bob) might help with that. Over the years, he has made many things disappear!
-
Great going, Geron! The antlers were a great touch. I am interested in how the others introduce themselves. Is Max going to be MaxP, or what?
-
I was just re-reading this. Still as great as ever!
-
Your agent is an elf? Is it Max's wife, Mrs. P? Or is it Frit or Pip? More seriously, I was hoping "Uncle Bob" Travers would show up in this one somewhere.
-
Very good story. I am glad you have included Chitto in the last few chapters.

Reminiscing About the Future
ReaderPaul commented on Altimexis's story chapter in Reminiscing About the Future
A good and enjoyable story. Well done. -
Einstein's original quote was something like: "Only two things are infinite; the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not too sure about the universe."

health What's wrong with my body?
ReaderPaul commented on Thorn Wilde's blog entry in The Fantastic Mr. Wilde
Thorn, have you been screened for acid reflux (called GERD in some medical circles)? Some of the throwing up symptoms sound similar to mine. -
Geron, I have a suggestion for a future Charlie Boone story. How about─ Charlie and Kippy and company plus Frit and Pip have an adventure with MRS. P (Max's wife?) Throw in Uncle Bob, and you would have a very different mix for a story.
