Exactly! It's hard for Bryan to realize that his mother's aloofness is more than just not being a touchy-feely kind of mom. I think it's natural for Bryan to want to defend her--at least until he figures out what she's done, then all bets are off. And yeah, Bryan has lost his reasoning now that he's realized MD is responsible for everything. Fortunately, Sarah is with him....

Yeah, Bryan is a bit upset now to think about calling the police, but yes, Sarah is with him with a bit more of a level head. The next couple chapters move pretty fast.

Thank you Val, so glad you enjoyed it. I still consider it my favorite, probably because it was my first. Thanks Gary! The rewrite has a lot more scenes between Damien and Kayden that you might enjoy--no new things to rip your heart apart (at least I don't think so). But some of the other stories might!- 4 comments

Chapter 16 Strangely, Bryan had found himself somewhat enjoying the Disney/Pixar movie Sarah had dragged him to. He'd been rather skeptical of the animated movie choice, but he later realized that it wasn't a movie he and Wyatt would have chosen to go see. Sarah had known that. Yes, it definitely is a break. And yes, the police will have to get warrants for Eddie's records, which will delay them slightly. But Bryan can get them immediately, being one of Eddie's guardians...

Well, Eddie isn't where the police (or Bryan even) think that he is... But this is definitely a break for them in the case--one little thing Carol didn't account for, Eddie's fingerprint showing up on the leather band.
