Very scary that some people truly think that way. I can totally imagine that kind of talk happening amongst the narrow minded conservatives.

    Angel or Human?

Very nice peek into Gabe's life as a nephlim and his desire to help everyone. I loved the feather part, something tangible to help jimmy along his way. Great story.

hehe, yep, so close. I'm sure you're not alone in wanted to punch MD.

    Chapter 13

hehe, yes it is frustrating that Bryan didn't hear the meaning behind Eddie's innocent words. I'm glad I was able to convey Bryan's helplessness well; I know it would be hard to just sit around waiting, wanting to do something, but not able to.

    Chapter 13

Thank you, I had hoped to convey Bryan's anguish prettying well. It is frustrating for us that Bryan didn't pick up the meaning behind Eddie's words.

    Chapter 13

hehe, yes, so close, but yet so far.

    Chapter 13

Exactly. I had hoped to convey the anguish Bryan is going through well Of course Bryan still thinks Darrin is at fault, so he's not processing much else, certainly not that his mother (or Eddie) has any clue about it. Thanks as always for reading and reviewing!

    Chapter 13

Thank you. The conversation with Eddie was fun to write. I taught a couple autistic children way back when I was teaching and they are the inspiration for Eddie's innocence.

    Chapter 13

Thank you! Yep, so close, but not quite

    Chapter 13

hehe, Eddie did 'tell' Bryan in his own way.

    Chapter 13

hehe, definitely clues but not enough for Bryan to jump on the clue train yet. Of course, he still thinks Darrin is responsible too...
  15. Chapter 14 Bryan found himself sitting on the edge of the fountain again. The last two days he'd come back here, during the day while kids were at school. It was quiet here. He was getting better at not breaking down while looking at the memorial now. And that's what it was to him—a memorial—because his hope was fading fast. He found himself beginning to accept what his mother had tried to tell him before—that he had to be ready to move on. But it was so fucking hard. There was an em
  16. Fuck. The damn kid was there again. It figured. I sighed as I dropped my head back against the headrest, wondering again just what the hell I was thinking. It had been several days since he'd been brought in. And, while I'd made my decision then, there was the hope that maybe the kid had gotten scared and gone home. No such luck. Or maybe it was actually really lucky, depending on how you looked at it. My captain was going to have my head for what I was going to do though. But hell, t
  17. He was just another kid on the street, a kid that had nothing left--no home, no future, no hope. He was my past. And I was going to become his future.

    Chapter 12

Great observations! I see I'm succeeding in portraying Eddie and his mother as I'd hoped. I think each time we see Carol her evilness shows just a bit more.

    Chapter 12

I'm glad you see Eddie like I'd hoped. He is innocent and just wants to be loved by his mom, who is incapable of such feelings.

    Chapter 12

Thanks. Eddie was hard for me to write, as he's obviously involved in Wyatt's continued captivity, but he's also innocent as well. I'm so glad to know that he's coming across as I'd hoped. thanks!

    Chapter 12

I understand... it was a hard chapter to read.

    Chapter 12

The real question is whether Bryan would pick up anything Eddie said about Wyatt as being real, since as far as Bryan knows, Eddie has no clue about Wyatt except what Bryan himself has told him. This was one of the more emotional chapters... not that others aren't, but this one I think is a turning point for Wyatt, realizing that he really is likely to die there in the basement.

    Chapter 12

Thank you! I know it was a tough chapter to read--it was hard to write too, but I'm glad I was able to portray Wyatt's despair as well as Eddie's innocence and confusion well.

Hehe, unicorns huh? That's probably true. We're still a ways off from that happening.

    Chapter 12

I probably need to delve more into their father's relationship with the boys as well as his wife more... I only really have hints right now. So glad you caught up, Lisa, and glad you are enjoying it
