  1. So, I just want to first thank everyone who read, liked, rated, and/or reviewed What No One Sees. I hope you enjoyed the story, and I greatly appreciate all the comments. Thank you so very much. I am considering possibly using Avery and Matt for some short stories/prompts like I did for the Neko. I dunno, we'll see. Anyway, to the reason you probably clicked on this link--I have actually completed the sequel to Tears of the Neko. It will be called Blood of the Neko. It's about 60k+ words and the last of the chapters are off to my betas--thank you Faxity, Cazpedroso, and Cannd! I, therefore, will probably start posting it next week (maybe this weekend). I did promise it to you for January; it's just a little later than I had thought (but hopefully you enjoyed What No One Sees or other wonderful GA stories in the interim!). If you have any questions, just let me know! Thanks for being patient with me.
  2. Loved reading all the interactions between cj and all of his dad's friends, so cool for him to finally feel at home, safe and accepted, and where he can be himself. Loving the story!
  3. DC! Yay! That's my neck of the woods, hehe. Anyway, great start to the story! Moving on to the next chapter! :reading:
  4. I realay like chet. I think he could be a really great friend for kendall, and he really needs one right now. I almost expected for Michael to appear and see the two of them together. Maybe it would push Michael along... great job, can't wait for the next chapter!
  5. Little worried about Barry's state of mind right now, and sounds like Dave is too. He does sound a bit suicidal, and it would be bad if he lost Dave right now who is his only saVing grace right now. Now that I've caught up, looking forward to more! Thanks for sharing this story!
  6. Thanks so much for the suggestion. Hehe, we actually do have dragon; it was recommended to us by her 5th grade teacher actually. It works great when she knows what she wants to say. After she's written out reports and such, she'll dictate it. She's severely adHD and creative writing is so not her thing. Reading, yes. Golf, yes. Tech ed, yes. Writing stories, no. I actually didn't think to tell her to try it with this story. I think she just couldn't think of a plot for her characters...again, must be her father's DNA.
  7. Of course at dinner tonight, my husband told my daughters about 'fixing the icemaker' and my oldest says 'oh, I played with a button in the freezer.' Of course we both asked her why she'd do that, and her response was that she "wanted to see what it would do". She's 13! Do not put my daughter near blinky buttons and lights.
  8. Yes--me. She does refer to her grandmom's cell phone as old (it's not touch screen).
  9. Okay, so here's my 'here's your sign' moment. About six months ago our ice maker just seemed to stop working. We knew it would cost probably about $900 to fix (because it stopped working when we first got it, and the repair guy told us we were lucky it was still under warranty or it would have cost about $900). So that's what we figured had happened now. Well, since I don't really use ice, my husband had taken to buying bags of ice as he needed them. He's been doing it for six months now. So apparently, yesterday at work, he noticed an on/off switch on the ice maker there. Hmm, I wonder if ours has one? Maybe if we flip the switch a few times, it will cycle it or something. So he comes home to test his theory... only to find that it was already in the off position. So, wow, he turned it to 'on' and wala we have ice again. So glad I never called the repair man he told me too. That would have been an embarrassing visit--being charged $50 for him to come flip a damn switch. Oh, on another note... my daughter asked if we had a CD player when she wanted to get a CD at the store. I said of course we did. Of course, she's never really listened to music from a CD player--we pretty much use our phones or their ipods. So, I pull out the CD player I have buried in a closet. It's a combination CD/radio/cassette player. She looks at it, flips up the antenna and asked what that was for. Then I told her which buttons worked the CD player and that the other buttons were for tapes. Her response: what's a tape? When I showed her what one was, of course, she quirked her brow and looked at it askance and said, "that looks so old."

    Epilogue

Thank you. I did think it was important to show that Avery wasn't just instantly better because dealing with the abuse by his father and William is going to haunt him for a long time. But with the therapy and Matt's love, he is dealing with it and getting better. Thanks so much for all your wonderful and helpful reviews! Look forward to hearing how you like the Neko sequel (coming up soon!)

Hmm, that's definitely an idea I hadn't thought about and would help his victims out in their recovery, even if just helping to pay for their therapy. Great idea, thanks! I'm so glad that you have enjoyed the story. Thank you very much for all of your helpful and insightful reviews!!

    Epilogue

I am too. It's pretty rare I'll write a story without a happy ending (but I have been known to do it!). Thanks so much for hanging in there on the emotional ride and all your wonderful reviews. They are greatly appreciated. Back to coffee in the morning! Hehe

    Epilogue

Yes, I think it was important to show that Avery wasn't instantly better. He's going to struggle with the healing process for a while, but he's certainly getting there with Matt's help. So glad you liked it and thank you very much for all your reviews.

    Chapter 1

Thank you for having faith in me to bring you to a HEA. It is a hard read but I do promise a satisfactory ending.
  21. Whew, okay, I'm able to breathe now. But I feel soon bad for his boys, losing both parents in such a violent way...
  22. Oh crap! Moving on now!
  23. Aww, he got to see his boys. Funny that trey already suspected...
  24. Poor barry. I thinks it's really hitting him how much he'll miss his boys, when he cant just up and see them any time he want to. He's holding together pretty well so far. And Dave and the others really seem like they'll be there for him. Good work, loving the story.

    Opening Boxes

Nice to see his worries and he's thinking about what his life is going to be like later. He does need to deal with his wife's death because I don't think he's really done that yet. Glad to see he didn't want to change rooms!
