The weather forecast for my area: tomorrow will the same as today, however over the weekend the winds should calm down somewhat and the humidity ought to be higher. Hopefully, any remaining fires will be stamped out by then.
The fire is now 80% contained. As for the fire to the southwest, it's burned 12,000 acres, not sure how much has been contained but some evacuation orders have been lifted in the area, so I see that as a positive sign.
There is now a fire north of my town. Thankfully, with the wind coming from the southwest, it's not going to effect us. But my eldest sister's home seems to be near the effected area.
A red flag warning is now in effect until 8 PM. The nearest fire to me has burned ~7000 acres and is 15% contained. It's not a threat to my town as of now, but I'll keep y'all informed if things change.
The fire weather warning has ended for the night. According to tomorrow's forecast, it'll be another dry and windy day, so it's expected that another warning will be in effect from noon into the evening. In the meantime I think I'll be able to sleep easy tonight. I'll be sure to keep y'all up-to-date tomorrow as well.
Anyways, thank you for all your well wishes today.
I can see the wall of smoke from this fire off in the distance. Let me stress that it's far away from me, and the wind has been pushing it and the fire to the east.
