Loved the last two chapters (I've been out, and playing catch-up!) I'm really hoping the furballs will figure out how to "swarm" (almost like ants) over the sensors, and incapacitate the robots. Or is there another mysterious force that'll step in at the last minute, perhaps from a hidden location, to save our heroes and the furballs? Regardless of the method, the storyline is great--and I'm ready for the next chapter!

The drive back to the hotel was in silence. I'd obviously pushed Barry's buttons with the house discussion, but he's just not getting the big picture. I'm hoping he'll listen to reason. I can't read his face—it's a combination of stoic and rock-hard set jaw. He fiddles with the car's touchscreen, changing the radio between a couple of channels and then watches the road. And he's not looking at me. Nor grabbing my hand on the console like he normally does. It's a very quiet car, so I'm glad for

I don't believe Martin is cruel; I believe he's calculatingly cruel. He keeps Casey on a short leash because it's a way to make him "pay" for his lover's death--and will also be useful when Martin ultimately reveals Casey's secret for his own scientific fame and perhaps fortune. Bastard. And, Shawn is going to be the one that Casey seeks for emotional support; perhaps he'll even be the one to rescue Casey from the twisted emotions of Martin. I'm hoping so! Another great, thought-provoking chapter. Always look forward to these!

Nicely done chapter! Jason is a mix (like most of us!) of sometimes good, sometimes not so good. First he plays rescuer to someone obviously being bullied, and within just a few hours turns into a douche immediately rejecting an offer of "let's build a friendship". Is that because of his history/survival instincts after having been burned in times past? Regardless, I think you're gonna end up making him come out as a guy with a heart--I can feel it! And you've done a good job so far with developing the other characters. Looking forward to the next chapter!

The Sparkling World of Zonesee
Robert Rex commented on jvaughn's story chapter in The Sparkling World of Zonesee
Great chapter! Now, they're back to a somewhat "normal" life, and passion is returning. The pacing is perfect as they adjust to at least a little while without drama! <grin> Good job...looking forward to more! -
Ricky is absolutely right, Ashdaw...and think you ought to consider the option of writing--there may be an author inside you waiting to be nurtured. Trust me, this place is as supportive as you can find! Besides, we all love options, right?

Another example of this fitness thing getting out of control. People are always talking about "getting in shape"....don't they realize that round IS a shape?

Actually, the new court date is a good thing for you--gives you time to build a solid case on why you should get them! And, gives you time to, if necessary, negotiate with the biological father. Hang in there, get the help you need--and know we're all pulling for you. You're making the best of a bad situation, and your care for nieces will make a difference. You rock!

Ashdaw, glad you made it back! Lots of good, fun stuff going on here! Dive on in!

Gotta love the furballs; even with their limited "collective" intelligence, they did enough to save Kyle and Jim. And the mods that are underway obviously come from an advanced, long-gone civilization who learned how to live on the planet. But, why am I suspecting that the long-gone colonists may be coming back to stop the destruction of the planet by the military attacks? And why do I think that the furballs are going to be instrumental in helping Kyle and Jim understand everything going on? You've crafted a great story--look forward to every chapter!

"After I'm Done, I'm Gonna Be a Dead Man. Deal?"
Robert Rex commented on Robert Rex's story chapter in "After I'm Done, I'm Gonna Be a Dead Man. Deal?"
Lomax, glad you joined on with the story! I'm hoping you'll find it involving--and fun--as you go along! There's several plot surprises ahead, and the goal here is to get you invested enough you're "hooked" on the story! Thanks for the kind words on the first chapter--I hope you'll let me know how I'm doing chapter by chapter; that kind of input is invaluable! Again, thanks for joining me on this tale and for the kind words. -
No words...other than "well done!"

A baffling chapter--Gab is unconscious, and yet Joey still loves him....and Joey sleeping with someone a year later? Obviously more to the story--bring it on!

GRRRRR! This "absolution", the whole creepy feeling-thing Ezra feels when he goes to a place of worship, his dad's insane approach to purification--makes me wanna get a torch and burn the place, and beat some of these so-called adults into submission. What a sign of great writing that you can evoke such passion among your readers! Incredible job!

Glad ya got caught up! Hate being behind here...too many good prolific authors! Thanks for sticking with the story--glad you're enjoying yourself! And thanks for the comments!

Poor Casey...Martin's fear/grief transformed into anger--and Casey recognizes his loss instinctively as being "the only one who loved him". But now the neighbor is here, so maybe happier days are ahead! Another great chapter/fine writing!

Thanks Cole---glad you liked!Quite frankly, I was concerned because the chapter ended up far longer than what I'd though--but that's because the description of the houses and what they represent. And there are a couple of situations that DO need to be resolved between Dave and Barry. And some of that will happen in the next chapter. Thanks for the comment, and your assistance!

Thanks for the kind words, Onim! It's interesting to see each man, and how his personality is developing. And thankfully, no major crises to have to deal with at this point. And several things in this chapter will be dealt with in future chapters.Personally, things are going better, and hope to be back on my "regular" publishing schedule soon. Thanks again for the kind words.

Winter- Meeting at the bus interchange
Robert Rex commented on greasycrissi's story chapter in Winter- Meeting at the bus interchange
Definately gonna be interesting to see where you take this story. You've introduced Erik as a typical highschooler--perhaps more jaded with life than others, or at least he is as first presented. Gonna be fun to see if he's really that jaded, or if he's just doing that to be cool. And certain we'll get far more details on his crushed crush. Looking forward to more! -
I'm certain Dave has his reasons...and think the next chapter will fill in some of those. And, like you, it's gonna be a real challenge to have 'em running in separate directions, especially with Barry occasionally working the bar at nights when Dave is home and Dave working when Barry's off!Glad the story is keeping your interest; yeah, it IS kinda like peeling onions, always another layer, and sometimes you cry. Hopefully, not much crying is left. And yeah, gotta have the coffee and be comfortable...you got my morning routine nailed! Thanks for hanging in with the story!

Thank you, Dathi! There are definately some things coming in the next chapter(s) that not only tie up loose ends to the story, but reveal even more than you might expect about our heroes. Thank you for reading/commenting--I appreciate it!

The houses certainly are interesting--and it's interesting to see the tastes of Barry (the big house) and Dave (the treehouse in the woods).A lot will be coming up in the next chapter, so hang in there with me! Thanks for reading!
