  1. Aw, thanks, Onim! (blush)Yup, the last two chapters weren't that exciting--just housekeeping stuff--but they were necessary for the future storyline. Thanks for following--and THANK YOU for the kind words!
  2. Yup, the bar is proving to be an interesting place! And glad ya liked the company name!More ahead--and thanks for the comments!

    Landfall

LOL! Glad you liked that line! But isn't that the way life normally is--a mix of serious and humor? The late night visit by Vinne was a surprise, and I'm thinking Barry was as surprised as anyone--and he's definately eager to talk to Dave to confirm or deny his observations, so he's a little unsure of himself. And yeah, Rex is a helluva real estate agent! Thanks for the comments--glad I made ya laugh a little!
  4. Lit, think Dave is being very cagey about who he gives the info to that he and Barry are a couple. Does it have to do withe the security on the project he's working on--or would Barry's safety would be compromised or his intel gathering be limited if they knew his partner was with the FBI? AFter all, Dave DID invite him to his office's happy hour, so he obviously doesn't have an issue with his relationship being public. We'll see. And yes, lots going on here--interesting bar, and it's already started before Barry even owns the place! Thanks for the comments! There'll be more fun ahead!
  5. Somehow missed chapter 6, so got both in a one-two punch! Great job in covering wild swings of emotions! The only thing missing was the hope that Ian the troublemaker got the (verbal) shit beaten out of him. I'd have loved hearing the discussion between Ian and Chet--and for one seeing Ian lose the battle (I suspect Ian is used to getting his way). Regardless, the chapter made up for it in sheer raw emotion. You did well here!
  6. Happenstance, I'm hoping you'll count this place as a new home for your spirit! You'll find some great stories in lots of styles and subject matter, friendly folks in the chat rooms (and yeah, there's a youth chat room, too!)--and always remember your input is important here. Please do leave comments for the authors, or chat freely; you're among friends! Welcome!
  7. Thank God it's Friday! Been a week filled with lots of stops and starts—periods of busy followed by idle time. It's been a practical, productive week. After the hurricane of activity that's been my life, feel like I'm finally settling into a real life. Had one incident of note, though. Tuesday, got the wire done for the earnest money deposit. Stopped by title company to give them a copy of the bank's wire transfer order/confirmation number. Met with the title attorney who'll be closing the tran

    Algonquin Park

Interesting characters, and a story line that you can grown in whatever direction you want! Good job! Looking forward to the next chapter(s)!

    Family Curse

Funny, funny! The Summer promo was priceless, too! Good job!
  10. You told a lot in this chapter....you showed us how their romance is blossoming, you gave us the history of the family, and then turned it into Blake's resolve to come out. Lots of information in a brief space--you did well!

    Chapter 5

Heartbreaking. You beautifully conveyed just how lonely Casey is as well as how unhappy (and trapped in his own feelings) Martin is. Good job--and hoping the next chapter will be happier...
  12. Loved the line, paraphrased here, "If my heart had a face, it's mouth would be smiling"! What a great expression! How can ya not get itno the first blushes of love/lust? You did well on telling this story--and why am I suspecting Gavin will make a not-so-welcome return appearance? Good job! Ready for more!
  13. Twisted and Neo, you're sure to find some great folks, and well done stories here! Join on in...the chat is fun, and I suspect you'll find the stories addictive--I find I'm reading here all the time, even on mobile devices! Glad you're both here!
  14. Glad you're caught up on the story...you won't have to wait long, I should have the next chapter posted in a couple of days. (Just don't do rehab for "Landfall"--don't know there's a 12-step program for that! LOL!)THANK YOU so much for the kind words on the story, seriously glad you're enjoying it, and humbled with the praise!

    Bring it on!

Think our Realtor's role is gonna be far more than just professional in the future--after all, his "spidey sense" got triggered--big time--on his introduction to Barry. We'll see.....Glad you're sticking with the story!

    Here We Come!

Mike, I'm wondering if it's more a case of Barry, because of all the changes in his life, has more of a focus on the things that are important--it's not just a case perhaps of him desperately clinging to Dave since he's the only option for him, but rather he now realizes the depth of his and Dave's emotions.Regardless of the reason, glad it's working for 'em so far! Thanks for following!

    Chapter 3

I'm like Doc....Poor Ezra! Talk about a mass of insecurities that he's been burried under! No wonder he's so bullied--there's no self-image for him to protect! And like Doc, Joshua is gonna be a real plus in this kid's life. Really looking forward to seeing where you're gonna take this tale. Good job!
  18. I had the same feeling, Mike. The A.D. definately seemed to have an agenda. I'm convinced we'll find out the real reason for it later. I'm just as suspicious of those motives.Really glad the story is keeping your interest! THANK YOU for the comments!
  19. The cycles of depression, guilt, hopelessness, and fear are tough to create--but glad you found that coming through clearly! And yeah, there are more adventures ahead for our heroes--glad y ou're enjoying it all!
  20. Perhaps its as much a relief as much as a realization of the total loss. Frank is no more--nothing is left of his former life, other than the few things he may have salvaged in the bags he carries (and nothing's been said about any of that). And yet, lots of folks would give anything to be able to have a truly clean slate to build a new life.I appreciate your reading and comments more than you know!

    I May Pass Out

True confession: I'm like Barry in that regard. My basic tendancy is to overthink things. Sometimes you gotta do a "damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead" approach!Glad you're still enjoying!

    Dave is DIC

Glad you're liking the detailed pace of the story, Mike! And appreciate your comments about the detail included. I really do try to strike a balance between giving enough detail to make a scene realistic versus overwhelming readers with too much detail--the focus is on the story, not necessarily the intricate details surrounding it!Thanks for forging through--and the comments!
  23. Another great chapter! CJ learning about himself, managing the sex play well, and his reticence at accepting the spotlight because of the way he handled the bullying incident are all adorable. And the internship has all sorts of promise--both in the way he grows into adulthood and in story options for you to develop as you will. Your solid writing craftsmanship, the delicate way you've woven a variety of story lines together, and your development of characters both real and interesting (yeah, I'd buy 'em rounds) all keep the story fresh and moving. You've done well on this tale, and I look forward to each chapter. Good job!

    Chapter 4

Remarkably moving chapter! Roshan, the bastard; his "uncle's" emotional distance; the implied danger of the new neighbors; the realization of how restricted Casey is. A lot crammed into one chapter! Great Job! But, why am I feeling the danger of the full moon approaching? Is Casey's uncle going to change the nature of the experiments/tests he's doing? Are the new neighbors going to become the threat--even unintended--within the next couple of days? You've created a "quiet cliffhanger"...looking forward to the next chapter!

    No Surrender

Just now finding this (system didn't send me a notice, and I missed it when ya posted it!). Nicely done....enjoying the character; your description of the memorials is both realistic and moving (and yeah, they grab your heart in real life just like you describe); the conversation flows well. Really interested in where you're taking this story--it's an enjoyable ride!
