  1. Nicely done chapter. (I'm playing catchup--been out for a few days) OF COURSE, it was total happenstance that it ended when it did! OF COURSE you're gonna make us wait, you sadistic bastard! Still love the story and your writing here. You did a great job of conveying the silent heartbreak of Doc...I'm just wondering when that'll explode. Fine writing here, buddy--you did well!

    Another World

Nicely done cliff-hanger! All very believeable--and the somewhat impulsive actions of a teenager come through nicely! Good writing here!

    Arrival

I'm like Foster--GREAT opening line! He didn't just get kicked out of his home, or out of town--it was off planet! Interesting characters, nicely developing plot line--looking forward to catching up and getting more! Good job!
  4. Lit, it seems like an obvious set up--but, there's no way to know at this point (see my comments to Timothy on this). Think you're right--Barry seems to like both the energy of a bigger city and a public life. Having Dave there is obviously a major plus. And yet, is he ready to "settle down" to a quieter life after all of this? Billings certainly offers lots of advantages, and is a great town on it's own. Suspect he could be happy in either location--but it's a decision only he can make. Thanks for the comments--I appreciate your following the story!
  5. Hard to know whether the FBI is being manipulative or not. Sid did protest that he was only trying to point out all the sides of both locations.Or was Barry and Dave's anger simply because they've been in such an emotionally charged situation in dealing with Barry's new face/depression/paranoia/relationship questions--and Sid walked into that minefield not fully aware of the emotions there? We'll see in the next chapters. Thanks for the review and following along!
  6. Nicely done chapter--a great blend of happiness, as well as clouds on the horizon. Plenty of romance options, too, with Chet, Arron, and (maybe) the new guy leasing Michael's old place (didn't specify he was gay, but ya never know). I suspect Kendall's dad is like a lot of dads--he's never really learned to cope or adequately express his feelings, and they're either on (full boil happy), or off (bitter anger and self-frustration). Gonna be interesting to watch how that relationship plays out. Good job--good writing!

    Horny Man

Damn fine writing in damn few words.
  8. Have I fucked it all up? Yesterday was such a cluster-fuck. Felt like shit all day before—really down. Crazy dreams that night about Jackie and the boys. One minute they're here and the next, they're gone. Faces fading in and out. Overwhelming sadness. Then Dave comes in yesterday morning after that lousy night, being his usual attentive self, and I totally dumped on him. You'd think this mess was all his fault. Almost like an alien had taken over my body. Oddly detached from it all—like I was
  9. Joen and Yummi, glad you're both here! Lots of good stuff here to explore--good writing, friendly people, interesting chat ....something for everyone! You'll have a great time, the more you explore/interact! And, again, glad you're both here!
  10. Thanks for the kind words, RJ!I'm glad the story is keeping your interest up--it's been a fun story to tell, and like life (which keeps getting in the way of my updates!) is filled with surprises. The next chapter should be out tomorrow, and I'm hoping you'll continue to enjoy! Thanks for the comments, buddy--glad ya came out of the shadows, and I appreciate your input; it's a real motivator for me to keep writing!
  11. Aw, thanks, CNJ! Glad you're enjoying the story so far--but hang on, there's more stuff ahead! In fact, the next chapter may be out later today or tomorrow morn!Wish I could claim otherwise, but this really is my 2nd story--sorry, no ringer here. Now if I could make some money from it! Definately glad you've stuck around for the tale so far--and thanks for the kind words!
  12. Enjoyed Pierced, and Christmas in Zoneii is a delight. They're obviously two different stories, one set in conemporary time, one in a future time. What did you do, mentally, to set the story of Zoneii in the future? Any specific changes in your thinking required for that plot? Pierced was great, and dealt with a tough topic. You'd mentioned a followup to their story....is that now in the que?

    Chapter 13

Somehow in the insanity of my life I'd missed this perfectly delicious story! I'm now caught up and it's worth the read. Your handling of the dialogue between Tate and Gavin is great--it flows naturally, and Tate's bear side comes through in the short brief responses he gives, perfectly punctuated by growls of lust, excitement, and happiness. The dream sequences of Gavin (fortelling Tate's "outing"?) flow well, and are a nice adjunct to the feelings developing in Gavin...and never get in the way of telling the story. You've done well in your telling of this tale--bring on the next chapter!
  14. Cole, thank you for the comments! Yup, this one WAS a tough chapter to write! Barry's depression is such that he's questioning whether he can go on--and yet through it all Dave hangs in despite his fears and becomes a real hero in the moment. And yet, despite the depression, Dave still continues to recognize Barry's depression as merely a temporary aberation, knowing that underneath it all Barry is a strong man. Not quite as complex as your superb "Barbed Wire Heart" story, this one has been fun to tell--and there's more to come. THANK YOU for the comments and following the story!
  15. Thanks for the kind words, Dathi! The story has developed it's own flow, and it's hard to realize just how much has happened to Barry/Frank unti the Assistant Director starts itemizing it all out. Absolutely terrifying. Glad you're enjoying the story--thanks for following along!
  16. Lit, you're exactly right--Dave instinctively knew he was in "over his head" with Barry, and moved quickly. I must admit I admire how consistent Dave has always been in his dealings with Barry; he's always consistent, and manages to step up to provide the reassurance Barry needs. Barry's new face apparently DID act as a trigger point for everything--and it would certainly do that for all of us to virtually overnight have a modified face! And, the AD must be bringing something big, based on what he said, and his willingness to stay involved in the case. Thanks for the kind words, Lit--I appreciate you following the story!
  17. Damn, I've had enough going on I've missed the last 2 chapters! But what a great pleasure to catch up! Love the way you portrayed the energy--and synergy--Michael and Kendall share. Even when they're ironing out questions in their relationship, the emotion and the conversations are both naturally flowing and true to real life dialogue. The sex was hot, but the emotions flare hotter. You've done well here!
  18. Thanks, Gary! This is a tough chapter to report--the depths of Barry's despair (damn near suicidal) and Dave's hurt and realization he can't do it all alone in trying to help Barry are heartbreaking for both men. Just hoping Doc can help Barry keep it together. Great to know that Dave is in it for the long haul. Thanks for the kind words!
  19. Thanks, Daddy for the comments--and you're right, Dave really has intervened in getting Doc back in the picture--Barry was/is heading to a full meltdown, just hope Doc can make that kind of difference! And, think the AD is gonna surprise us all....Thanks for following...the next chapter will be out shortly.
  20. Thanks for the kind words, Carlos!Glad you're still finding the story fresh and interesting--and yeah, there are still a few surprises ahead. The next chapter will show a couple of things. Thanks for hanging in there with me on this! Appreciate your support!
  21. Nicely done story---I'd bypassed it because it was labeled as a screen play, which I find difficult to read! You did a great job conveying the anger and loss of our hero's friends--and it's easy to see how he'd retreat into his shell. Looking forward to the next chapter!
  22. “Doc, I'm worried.” “What's going on, Dave?” Brian Schmitt, Bureau psychiatrist, and long-time friend, is on the phone with me. And even though it's just 9am Dallas time, he sounds wide awake, and interested—apparently he's a morning man, and gets rolling early in the day. "Doc, Barry saw his face yesterday, and freaked out. Even though he looks like the projection the surgeon gave us, he was damn near catatonic on the way back to our place. I ordered dinner, he ate 3 or 4 bites of it. Later,
  23. Nicely done chapter! You portrayed the links between the Kim and his mate based on the intensity of his love, then turned immediately and allowed Kim to brain--scan his captor with both surprise and efficiency. And all the while keep the intensity of the chapter going. You did well here--now, looking forward to the next chapter!

    Part II

Fun! Loved the DQ--you got the dialogue nailed. (Just exactly how much time ARE you spending in the drag shows?!??!) Love the way their paring off....this will prove fun! Good job, fun relaxed story-telling here, filled with both humor and multiple plot directions.

    Chapter 32

So much going on in this chapter....really hoping the guys make the adoption work. And, having had a similar deja vu experience with a house, understand how both satisfying and terrifying the reality of experiencing that can be. Hope that moment is a good open for our heroes! Good job here....kept the energy and storyline both moving quickly! You did well!
